Vivica A. Fox on The Starlet. I think she deserves a medal just for not getting killed while she was with 50 Cent.
Kent Farm. The cows aren't really holding out much hope for Season 5. Clark grabs a saddle from a shelf just as Lex walks in. Appropriate. Weird camera angle here. Clark asks if Lucy turned up. Lex says the car was found, minus the $50,000. Clark starts to apologize on behalf of Lois. Lex stops him: "I'm not here to collect." Lex says that having Becker in custody is worth more than $50k to him. Clark takes a minute, and then comprehends. "Your deal...in Zurich," he says. Clark is glad someone came out ahead. Lex asks about Lois. Clark says she hasn't said anything all day. Clark wonders why Lucy would run away from her family. "Just because you have the same blood running through your veins doesn't make you family," Lex says. Lex asks Clark to take a walk down "How Are We Different?" Lane. Lex says he's the product of his father's breeding. Papa Luthor needed an heir. But Clark's parents, Lex says, chose him out of love. And needing a farmhand. Lex says he'd take Clark's family any day of the week. Nice that we're picking up this thread again from, oh, the first season. Clark and Lex gaze at each other. It's kinda hot. Clark wonders if Lois and Lucy will ever be close. God, I wish I could care. Lex tells Clark that's up to them, and suggests that Clark not blame himself. Clark stops Lex as he's leaving. He asks if Lex misses not having a sibling. Er, he does have a sibling. But maybe Clark means to ask if Lex misses having a normal sibling. "I used to," says Lex. "Until I met you, Clark." The camera zooms in for a close-up. "You're closer to me than any blood brother," he tells Clark. That is both sexy and very, very sad, given how out-of-nowhere this is. Boo, I say. Boo to the bullshit.
School hallway. Chloe catches up with Clark. She asks whether Clark has recovered from "Hurricane Lucy." Clark says he hopes she changes her ways before she gets into trouble. Chloe says that keeping secrets always leads to trouble. She says she doesn't know what's worse -- keeping it or being duped. Clark sighs like he's tired of hearing this crap from Chloe every week, and asks if she's heard from Lois. Clark says Lois has been holed up in her room all day and won't talk to the Kents. Chloe says that Lois has always tried to protect her little sister. Clark says you can't save everyone. "But it doesn't stop you from trying. Does it, Clark?" Chloe asks. Now Clark is really annoyed.
