Episode Report Card Cindy McLennan: A- | 2 USERS: A YOU GRADE IT Intervention
By Cindy McLennan | Season 1 | Episode 16 | Aired on 03.18.2012
Enchanted Forest, Night. Jiminy Cricket finds Charming, who he thinks is James. (I get email about this every week, so again I'll remind some of you that Charming is not James. James is his dead twin brother -- the boy who was raised by King George. Did that sound cranky? Good, because at this point, it's making me cranky to have to explain it over and over again. It's not that hard, people. Really. To those of you who have been paying attention, please excuse my crank, or enjoy it. Whatever works for you.) Anyhow, once Charming gets over the fact that a cricket is talking to him, Jiminy explains his involvement in the intervention and says he wasn't much help. Charming says he fared no better and asks if Jiminy can free him. Before Jiminy sets to nibbling him free of his bonds, he asks Charming what his plan is. Charming isn't sure. Nothing is making Snow remember who he is. Jiminy suggests Charming is approaching this the wrong way.
Jiminy: How can she remember who you are, when she's lost sight of who she is?
Queen's highway, snowy day. Regina and her guard ride ahead of her carriage. The peasants bow as she sneers at them. She is resplendent in a black hat and red velvet riding costume. Snow White lurks in the woods above the road. She finds her hiding spot and takes aim. When Regina rides into sight, Snow releases the arrow. David jumps in front of it. It hits him in the shoulder. He falls to the ground with a yell. Snow runs over to him, yelling -- asking why he'd do this. He reminds her she appreciates action more than words.
Charming: Now, you're going to get both. I love you, Snow.
Snow: But I don't love you. I don't even remember you.
Charming (moaning in pain): Well, I don't care. The only thing I care about is that you don't forget who you really are. I would rather die than let you fill your heart with darkness.
Snow (voice softening): You would really die for me?
Charming points out his wound and asks if it looks like he's faking. Snow is touched and says no one has ever done anything like this for her, before. Charming says at least no one she can remember. With a tear rolling down her cheek, Snow moves in on Charming, who is also in tears. I might be able to watch these two cry at each other for an hour. They cry so prettily. Snow gets closer and closer to Charming. Finally, she kisses him. Her eyes pop open. She pulls back and says his name. He says it's him and they kiss again.
Just then, George's army finds them. They drag James off and stick him in a bar-enclosed wagon. Despite the fact that the man in charge says to leave the girl, when Snow yells out, "James," one of the knights smacks her. She falls to the ground. James yells out, "NO!" when the knight draws his sword against Snow. The head knight calls him off. As the wagon whisks him away, James whispers, "Snow." She rises to her feet and calls out, "James, I will find you. I will always find you."
