Much to Emanda's shock, Conrad's announced and brought out onstage. Ems shuffles through the crowd in search of Jack, who's up on a balcony wearing a newsboy cap and glasses. Really, Jack? And really, Ems -- you can't spot that? Conrad's speech starts out thanking the former governor and ventures into mention of Charlotte and Victoria who are at home. Cut to Victoria sitting at home drinking wine and watching the speech. The doorbell rings. Victoria answers the door and we don't see who it is. After a beat, she realizes who it is. "Patrick?" -- "Hello, mother." Victoria drops her wine glass and it shatters. Back at the speech, Jack pulls out his pistol and loads a bullet into the chamber. Ems rushes up the stairs to the balcony as Jack raises the gun to aim out at Conrad. She bursts into the room just as he's about to pull the trigger. Hilariously, Jack's reaction to his child's godmother catching him about to assassinate the governor of New York is, "Emily, go away." It has nothing to do with her, he says. But it does. It really does. She steps in front of Jack and begs him not to throw his life away because of her choices. Jack still has both hands on the gun with it extended out in front of him. Ems asks him to just look at her. He does.

Emanda: "Deep down inside, you've always known the truth. I'm Amanda Clarke."
