I hope Jeremy comes back, soon. It would be interesting if he too is going crazy, although I don't think he's been killed nearly as many times as Ric. He's been compelled a lot though, and I would suspect that would have an effect on a person as well.
What made the episode for me were the Matt/Elena scenes and the Stefan/Damon scenes. The series' strength lies in its emotional resonance and that's particularly true in this episode, because it sure wasn't the convoluted plot. I do like that there are consequences to the protect-o ring. I wish there were consequences to the daywalker rings as well (go aging -- choose aging).
