Parting Really, Really Is Sweet Sorrow...

The Wheel - ...as in the season finale, a bunch of beautiful scenes add up to making you want to kill yourself. That's not exactly a departure, but it's a virtuoso performance nonetheless.

"Mr. Campbell. Who Cares?"

Nixon vs. Kennedy - That's the response Bertram awesomely gives to Pete when Pete tells him about Don's past. We learn how said past actually went down, and also who won the Presidential election. This show may be hazardous to your health, but it's also educational.

Coming To A Boil

Indian Summer - Things are heating up: Don has a real connection with Rachel, which may force an unpleasant decision on him soon; Roger has another cardiac event, prompting Bertram to promote Don to partner; and Don's brother Adam kills himself, which sneaky Pete finds out about and will no doubt use against Don.

Laika Was An Astronaut

Long Weekend - Roger's mid-perv heart attack throws everybody into a commotion, but nobody's around to see it because everybody's family is at the beach for Labor Day. Oh, and there's some girl-on-girl action, but it's not hot so much as...really sad and awkward.

If You Love Someone, Shoot Them With A BB

Shoot - Betty liberates some pigeons by shooting at them. We'll explain later. Don turns down a fat offer to stay at Sterling Cooper, and Joan's not mean -- just direct. Very, very direct.

The Dark Side Of The Closet

The Hobo Code - Salvatore gets some real depth this week, as a male traveling salesman offers to do the horizontal mambo with him, but he fearfully declines. Peggy's Bel Jolie campaign makes her a big hit around the office with everyone but Pete, the person she sadly cares most about. And we get some very interesting insights into Don's past, and might well be saying goodbye to Midge forever.

Tit For Splat

Red In The Face - Roger gets hammered and makes a pass at Betty, so Don gets his revenge by setting him up to hurl right at some clients' feet, literally. Also, Betty clocks Helen in Aisle Five, and Pete shows just how together he us by making love to a shotgun.

Where Have You Gone, Dick Whitman?

Babylon - That's Don's original name, which makes us wonder why he changed it. Is he Jewish, as the theme of the episode might suggest? Whether he is or not, Jewish themes are the central focus of the episode. In other news, Peggy's movin' on up, and Joan and Roger know each other in the Biblical sense.
