Episode Report Card M. Giant: B- | 2 USERS: B YOU GRADE IT The Gods Must Be in the Tub

By M. Giant | Season 22 | Episode 6 | Aired on 03.24.2013

After Pam & Winnie have booked their flights and gotten on their way, Max & Katie are firming up their master plan for entering the travel agency: "We're gonna go in and then we'll come back out, okay?" Max verifies. Genius! They get in using the password "Botswana," and ask the agents inside for the same thing the team before them got, in more or less those exact words. Meanwhile, the derby moms tell their cab to wait outside the agency and, as they get out, they put out a general call for a smartphone to the bystanders on the sidewalk. Always a good idea at midnight in a foreign city! While Max & Katie watch from inside, the country singers show up outside and are denied admission when they tell the "guard" that they want to go to Kenya. Katie mouths "Botswana" at them through the glass doors, so they try that and it works much better. "Thanks, we owe you guys," Caroline tells Katie & Max once they're inside, as though that's something Katie & Max would need to be told. Beth & Mona soon have the information they need from helpful locals and one "Botswana" later they're inside the agency. Despite starting in fourth place, the hockey brothers are actually the fifth team to arrive at the agency, and Caroline sticks her head out the door and chirps, "Botswana." The guard looks a little annoyed at her for that. Get used to it, guard, shit like that happens on this show all the time.

Joey & Meghan are in sixth place as they leave the Pit Stop at 12:47 AM. They're feeling a little paranoid, not to mention flashing back to their days as unpopular high school students (which, they're totally central casting on that one, I've been thinking since the beginning) but promise to keep coming back no matter how many times they get U-Turned. I can't see that happening more than a couple times after this, can you?

Chuck & Wynona are leaving at 3:26 AM, which is a pretty major time deficit, even considering that they were also U-Turned. Wynona mentions that this is the third leg in a row they've left in last place, which means they're even worse at this than I thought. Chuck adds that he was shocked to be U-Turned, considering how weak they are. "It's been a tough, grueling race. I don't feel we're ready to throw in the towel or ready to get divorced or nothing yet, but I just feel we're gonna be in trouble." Gonna be?

Joey & Meghan leave the travel agency, happy to be on the same flight as everyone else just like they wanted. Hours later, when Chuck & Wynona show up, wacky hoedown hick-rube-Clampett-loser music plays patronizingly on the soundtrack while they basically rattle off every country they can think up, rummaging through their backpacks for some reason. Wynona guesses Australia, Turkey, Bangladesh and Paraguay before Chuck finally gets Botswana from whoever he's talking to on the cell phone he borrowed from their cab driver. Looks like they're in.
