Sonjia works with Amy and baby Jude. Amy seems super chill and her baby is adorable. Amy says that she likes to dress up on the weekends and likes for her baby to fit in to that aesthetic. Sonjia says that she's excited for this challenge and maybe I believe her? Kate is the mother that Fabio is working with and her baby is Bobby. She tells Fabio that she favors baby clothes that are easy to get on. You see, Bobby's head's real big. Fabio reminds her that all babies have big heads. Then, we see him sort of shake hands with Bobby. It's really cute. Then, he says that his first job in NYC was as a babysitter. Also cute. He tells us that he has an ease with children. For the love of God, people, go vote for him for fan favorite right now. It's the least we can all do. Kate tells Fabio that she buys vintage baby clothes for Bobby and while that sounds too precious by like 10, she seems super cool and Fabio says that she's very stylish. He wants to make a 50's-style jumper for Bobby. As he's sketching on his HP pad, he hands the stylus to Bobby and asks him if he wants to sketch. Bobby just walks away with the stylus in hand and a grin on his face. Fabio just chuckles. Love.
Nancy, mother of Nile, tells Christopher that they like to dress very classic with a twist. He asks her to walk the store and see if she likes anything. She doesn't like anything. She picks at this fun little tulle skirt and mentions how Dior does a lot with tulle. Wow, it's been a while since I thought of the phrase "conspicuous consumption." Babies in Dior = conspicuous consumption. Christopher interviews that he loved the mother and daughter's style on first sight, but now is wondering how he will be able to make Nancy happy. He pitches some fabrics to her and she settles on white. She says that Nile always wears three-quarter sleeves. Damn, that's specific. Then, she describes for Christopher what a three-quarter sleeve is. Heh. She's really pretty humorless, this Nancy. She nixes some pockets that he was going to put on a jacket.
After the consultations, Heidi says with a grin on her face that, to better help them understand the challenge, the designers have a dossier and a "special surprise" waiting for them at the workroom. Then, she and Tim giggle. Elena interviews that she knows it's not a real surprise. Instead, she knows that it will be something fucked up. And that is the sound of a woman traumatized.
At the workroom, they all have tiny mannequins. Cute. But, there are also baby dolls in car seats. There are little notes from Heidi saying that the designers have to take good care of the babies. Elena knows the score. She recognizes them as the dolls that they give high school students to make them realize how stupid school is. Tim comes in and says that the point of all the babies is to show them what goes into making clothes for them. That doesn't make any sense. He says that the babies will cry and they will have to feed, rock or change them. Gross. It's clear that Elena is not happy at all about this and Tim just laughs and leaves. I can't tell if he's nervous or sadistic this season.
