The show opens in Times Square, New York City. Inside WWF New York (the WWF-themed restaurant), the Coach and Trish Stratus stand on a stage and announce that they are live, and that tonight the winners of Tough Enough will be announced in a special one-hour finale. As The Coach and Trish fill with some inane banter, the cameras find each of the finalists sitting at tables in the restaurant. Josh is sitting to Al Snow. Taylor looks very pretty in a black dress, and is sitting to Jacqueline. Maven is sitting to Tazz. Nidia -- oh, good Lord. Nidia looks like a clown with all the makeup. And she's wearing a yak fur vest, I think. No wonder none of the trainers is sitting to her. The crowds boo Harvard Chris when the cameras reach his table. The Coach announces that before we find out who the winners are, we're going to take a look back at the last few days of the competition.
Previously on Tough Enough: Big knew that picking a winner would be difficult, but he didn't know exactly how difficult. Al Snow reminds the remaining contestants that they are constantly being evaluated. Maven gets a cut on his head, which must have happened on the lost episode, because I don't remember that happening at all.
Title Card: The Last Supper. Nidia voice-overs that they decided to invite the trainers over for dinner in appreciation for all they've done. We see Nidia and Taylor making salads. I hope they didn't let the guys out of dinner preparations. Jacqueline is the first to arrive, and she's impressed with the size and the splendor of the house. Tori arrives , carrying a giant box for some reason, which is never explained. Big and Al Snow arrive via the front door, and are greeted by the guys. All of the contestants are in dressy casual, but Harvard Chris decides to wear a suit. Because he's a brown-noser. Al Snow, who is wearing his ubiquitous fanny pack, comments that Harvard Chris really is "Captain Caucasian."
The trainers and contestants all adjourn to the living room to play a game before dinner. The contestants have designed a board game based on Tough Enough. I would be willing to bet money that Vince McMahon's lawyers jumped right on this and bought up the rights to that game. I'm not really sure how the game works, and it's really not important. The funny parts are the messages on the cards the players have to pick up. As each message is read, we see flashback footage of these incidents actually happening. The messages are:
- Refer to Miss Jacquie as "Jacquie" during first week. Go back three spaces.
- Have a Goldberg poster in your room. Go back two spaces.
- Give hits off C.K. (Chris-tian) and hurt own hamstring and shoulder. Go to the hospital.
- Darryl takes you in a headlock, and you pass out. Go back three spaces.
- Try to make out with Maven while totally plastered. Go back three spaces.
- Find a wig store in Milwaukee. You win.
It's time for dinner. Josh says that he needs to sit to Al Snow, and that everyone else can sit wherever they want. Big stands up and offers up a toast, saying that when the contestants first came into the house, he talked to them about respect and family. Big thinks that the five remaining contestants epitomize both of those things. Everyone chows down. Big asks everyone who, at the beginning, they thought would make it to the end. Someone jokingly says Darryl, but then people remember Paulina, Jason, and Greg. Nidia comments that she knew she and Taylor would make it to the end.
Upstairs, Josh digs out and puts on the Al Snow wig he bought in Milwaukee. Maven helps Josh paint a moustache to further the Al Snow costume. Josh even has a fanny pack, God love him. Josh comes back downstairs and sits at the table right to Al, to the delight of the other dinner guests. Josh's impersonation consists of holding his head in his hands and asking, "What did I do to deserve this?" Al starts rubbing his eyes, so Josh follows suit. It really is very funny. I could watch half an hour every week of Josh imitating Al. Every time Al tries to speak, Josh says his sentence with him. Everyone at the table cheers.
House of Pain. It's the last two days. In an interview, Taylor says that she can feel a sense of closure, and that everything is coming together in the matches they are putting on. As we see matches between various contestants (including men versus women, which is encouraging to me, as a staunch supporter of female wrestlers in the WWF being more than just eye candy), Al Snow tells us that he will be evaluating the contestants on a lot of different levels.
, Al gives us his capsule review of each contestant. Taylor, he says, has "a saltiness" and a "natural toughness to her." Nidia has good "in-ring presence." Harvard Chris had an advantage at the beginning, but as time went on, his advantage diminished. Maven has physicality, agility, and "an innate charisma." Al thinks that Josh has passion and heart, but that he's also been able to stay at the forefront physically and mentally. Al Snow concludes, "It's still just anybody's race." Good to know.
Then there's a wrestling montage, which leads me to two conclusions: the contestants have gotten really good, and Jacqueline has enormous breasts. I'm serious. I don't know how she manages to wrestle with those things. I don't mean that she wrestles with her breasts, although what she does on her own time is her own business.
