Hey, they put Charlie in the credits! Poor Charlie. He got all excited that he was going to be on the show, and then he's only in, like, four episodes.
Jacquese calls his mother, who is coming out for a visit. She says that she got a letter from the state about how they are going to require Anthony, Jacquese's estranged father, to go to court for non-payment of child support. Jacquese interviews that he didn't meet his father until he was in second or third grade, and then didn't see his father again until he was in junior high, so they don't really have a relationship. Macquese (Jacquese's mom) says that she's tired of the whole thing. Jacquese admits that, while he tells his father he loves him, he doesn't really feel anything at all. Jacquese says that it's especially bad, because Anthony's own father wasn't around, so he should know how terrible it feels for a son to miss out on having a real father. Jacquese concludes that he's washing his hands of the whole situation.
Jacquese and Jamie go out to dinner. Jacquese explains that his mother has always been proud of him. Jacquese interviews that his mother is his hero. Aw. Jamie asks when Pacquese stopped being part of his son's life. Jacquese says that he never was. Wait, what is Jacquese wearing? It is such a Cosby sweater. I didn't even know they made those anymore. Maybe they're coming back. God, I hope not. Jacquese interviews that a father should be there for his child, and that his father hasn't been. Jacquese relates what it was like for him going to school and hearing the other kids talk about their activities with their fathers. While saying this, Jacquese gets all choked up and starts crying. Jamie interviews that she's never seen this side of Jacquese before. Jamie moves her chair over to sit closer to Jacquese and comfort him. Jacquese says that he's more angry than sad. Jacquese interviews that his father used to make him promises to go places, and Jacquese would get all dressed up and wait, and his dad wouldn't show. Aw. That's seriously sad. Poor little Jacquese. Jacquese says that there are certain things that people learn from their fathers that he had to learn on his own, and that it makes him angry.
The roommates prepare to go to work. They're supposed to be there at 10:30, and they're late. Of course they are! I mean, what kind of barbarian expects someone to be at work that early? Cameran interviews that she's always loved the water, and that she thought this job would be great, but that it's not. Jamie tells Charlie not to wear shoes with black soles so that they don't scuff up the boat. Charlie interviews that he's only sailed small sailboats, so he's excited about going to work.
Out in the car, Cameran lays on the horn. It's 10:27. Why bother getting mad? There's no way they'll make it on time. Cameran interviews that if they are late, they don't get their bonus. I see they are continuing the fine tradition of giving the roommates a bonus for doing what everyone else just does as part of their job. Cameran screams at Brad that she doesn't want to be late. It appears that Randy forgot something (his bowl?), and had to go back in the house. Brad keeps making fun of her and, once everyone is in the car, Cameran takes off.
The roommates arrive at work. Robin interviews that they got there at 10:45, and that Troy wasn't very happy. Troy tells them that they were close to being on time, but that they were still late. Cameran asks sadly if they lost their bonus for the day. Troy says that it's "like a normal job," and that "bonuses are for excelling, not just meeting." So being late is meeting expectations? And being on time would be exceeding expectations? What the fuck? Where do I get one of these jobs? Cameran interviews that a fifty-dollar bonus is a lot of money to them, so she got annoyed.
The roommates start scrubbing down the boat. Robin and Cameran stand around and discuss how much they hate their job. Maybe it would be more fun if they actually did some work, so that the time would pass by more quickly. Robin nearly falls in the water and notes sarcastically that it would suck, because she'd have to go home if she got all wet. Cameran seriously says that she will fall in the water on purpose. Robin interviews that if they get wet, they don't have to work because they have to go home and change. Robin and Cameran discuss whether they should really do this. They take everything out of their pockets and hide it behind a post. It would be funny if they fell in and then Troy was like, "I guess you just have to work soaking wet and cold!"
Troy tells Robin and Cameran to wash off some floats. Robin interviews that they didn't want to go to work and they didn't get their bonus, so they thought they should get a free day. Will they still be paid for the day? Cameran and Robin dip the floats in the water and then pretend one of them gets away, so that they have to reach really far in and retrieve it. They hem and haw about jumping in for so long that Jamie comes over with a brush and pulls the float out for them.. Robin interviews that Jamie totally wrecked the plan accidentally. Robin and Cameran go to the other side of the dock and look around to make sure that no one is watching, and then jump in, screaming at the top of their lungs. Jamie runs over to help them out. Jamie interviews that she can't believe this happened. Robin and Cameran are totally laughing in the water, and then start pretending that they are really upset about it. Troy and Brad pull the girls out of the water.
Once they get out, Robin acts as though Cameran was reaching for something, started to fall, and ended up pulling Robin in with her. Robin acts like she's mad about it. Troy doesn't seem to buy it, if you ask me, but he has no proof either way, so he kind of has to let them leave. Robin is actually pretty good about keeping a straight face, but Cameran keeps cracking up. Cameran interviews that spending a few minutes in the cold water was worth it. Jamie interviews that her roommates aren't very professional. Jamie tells someone that she doesn't think they fell in on purpose. Back at the car, Robin asks if the fact that she took her cigarettes out of her pocket is going to be "a spot blower." Robin peels off her wet sweatshirt, and I now have more information about Robin's nipples than anyone, including Robin, really should. Back at the house, Robin and Cameran do a confessional where they giggle about what they did, and how they got away with it. Cameran interviews that if any of their roommates found out, they would tell Troy and get the slackers fired.

Jacquese goes to the airport to pick up Macquese. She laughs that it was a long flight. Jacquese interviews that he and his mom have a good relationship, even if it's a little crazy. They walk out to the parking lot, and Macquese laughs at the color of the car. They arrive at the house, and Macquese hugs all of the girls. Cameran interviews that Macquese is a trip, and that they enjoy her.
Jacquese takes his mom to Joe's Crab Shack. She brings up Jacquese's issues with his father, and says that he will have to deal with them. Jacquese interviews that he's never had an honest conversation with his father about his feelings. Macquese thinks they need to have that conversation so that Jacquese can move on. She thinks Jacquese needs to forgive his father, because his anger will keep him stuck where he is. Jacquese interviews that he's angry, and that he doesn't understand why his mother isn't, but she says it's because she forgave Pacquese a long time ago. Macquese says, "When you forgive somebody, you're not excusing their behavior." She adds, "Forgiveness is not for the person you're forgiving. Forgiveness is for you." I think Macquese should have her own talk show. I hope after these shows aired, she spoke to Jacquese about his weird habit of spying on people having sex. Jacquese doesn't think he'll ever have the opportunity to have that conversation, because his father will just make excuses.
And now it's time for the Most Awesome Thing I Saw on TV Last Week. In college, I used to watch Days of Our Lives because my roommate did, and I was in the room at the time, but then I was hooked. And when my husband and I first started dating in college, he would come over for lunch and watch the show with us. But then we both graduated and stopped watching. But I heard that James E. Reilly was returning as head writer, and he created the "Marlena is possessed" storyline, which was so ridiculously awesome that it frightened me, so I had to start watching again. Plus, the summer is always the best time to watch soaps because they focus on the teen storylines to attract the kids who are out of school. So right now, Marlena and a bunch of other boring people (like Roman and Abe) are presumed dead, but really they are on an island somewhere, and on the island is an exact replica of Salem. Which is genius, because they didn't have to build a whole new set -- they just stuck some palm trees in the regular set, which was awesome. And the other thing that my husband and I enjoy looking for is how any male will find any excuse to remove his shirt. Seriously, each day at least half of the male cast members are running around without their shirts on. Sometimes they just got out of the shower, or sometimes they are being held captive in a cage by an insane chick dressed as an old lady, but sometimes they just don't have shirts on for no apparent reason. But truly the most awesome thing happened on Friday. Bonnie opened this honkeytonk bar, and Rex and Philip (played by Kyle from the Chicago season ofThe Real World) were bartending. And suddenly this musical montage started where Rex and Philip went all Cocktail and started flipping bottles around, and people were line dancing, and the camera was zooming in on a neon sign, and then Belle and Philip were riding the mechanical bull together, and then there was more bottle flipping and everyone was cheering and I kept saying, "This is NOT happening." But it was, and it was awesome.
