Okay -- Carrie has been dumped by her fianc�, Aidan, because of her unwillingness to commit to him fully. She couldn't set a date and never wore his ring on her finger. Even after he bought her apartment and the one next door so that they could live together. Then he made her buy the apartment back, and although Big gave her a check, it was Charlotte that lent her the money to buy her place, and she got the money from selling the ring Trey gave her.
Trey and Char, by the way, have split up, because she wanted a baby and they couldn't conceive, and he was an insensitive jerk. Miranda had her baby (and Steve's baby). And Sam fell in love with a man who couldn't settle down, and caught him in the act of going down on another girl. Plus, Big up and left New York to go to Napa Valley. The new season is going to have to deal with 9/11, too.
Now we're waiting for the fifth season to start; that'll probably happen in the summer of '02.
