So, Jake's there. He tells Cassie and Adam that he distracted or something the witch hunter from her. Because her power is too strong or something. Jake says that the last time things went ape shit was 16 years when the Chamber of Commerce of lame witches killed her father. Cassie wants to trust him against Adam's judgment. Jake tells her that he was there the day of the fire with all of the dead folks. He was a baby, but thinks that Cassie can perform a spell to help him recall the details. She and Jake go to the site of the fire. Later, she performs a spell that takes the back to the boat. His head hurts so he can't stay with her in the spell, but she stays and sees that some guy slits Jake's dad's throat, then puts his mom in a room with some ladies, one of whom has a slit throat herself. She's sees her dad get set on fire by witchhunters and starts to choke on the smoke in the room with him. Later, she tells Adam that she saw Ethan, who had told Adam that he wasn't on the boat the day of the fire.

Dawn sucks up to Diana to make Charlie like her, the horrible person that she is. No luck. Charles is done with her since she wanted to kill his mother. He also vows to find out what she's up to. She tells Ethan that he choked her with magic and he vows to make Charlie pay. Charlie visits Ethan and he knocks him out. He steals Charlie's crystal and does that water choking thing to him and doesn't believe him when he says that it was Dawn who killed Henry Chamberlin. But, he doesn't give Dawn the crystal when she asks for it.

Faye's still fooling around with that Lee guy. She meets his friend Callum and finds out that they deal Purudenga, a devil-related drug. Well, dealt -- Lee is no longer in the business. Callum gives some of the drug to Faye.

Cassie goes back to the actual boat and finds a necklace that her dad dropped. Then, she and Jake dig up her father's grave and find a dog skeleton where his body should be.

So, Jake is here! Everything just got like three times hotter, instantly. It's magic! Cassie immediately realizes that he's the one who saved her and Melissa from the fire. I guess the boots look familiar. Adam isn't happy to see him. Jake says that he had to get the witch hunters as far away from her as possible, before he could escape. You see, I thought that was obvious when he was leaving with them. He says that Cassie's dark magic was too strong and Isaac (it was Isaac, the big boss man's name was Isaac. I SWEAR that they never mentioned his name once during the three episodes on which he was featured; but Jake says it like three times in one sentence here) didn't want to get torched like Cassie did to Luke. She's not safe from the council of witch hunters, to which Adam responds with incredulity. Oh, you can believe the shit that pops up on this show from week to week, but a council of witch hunters is far-fetched. Gotcha. Anyway, the council has a ritual for killing witches with dark magic and the last time it was used was 16-years prior, at the boating party, in an effort to kill John Blackwell. It's funny how Jake just sort of parses this information.

Here they are at 7 Briar Hill and it looks like they've all gotten together and used some Circle magic to restore the staircase to its original condition. It's majestic. Cassie's confused -- she thought that the fire happened because the Circle was bound and their magic was out of control. Jake says that one of the guys in the council, Eben, was there the day of the fire. He wouldn't tell him about the ritual, but Jake feels like that's the only way they can protect Cassie. Adam tells Jake to stay away from Cassie and he says that she knows where to find him.

Adam drives Cassie home. Cassie says that, if Jake is telling the truth, she has to find out what happened to her father. Adam can't believe that she trusts Jake but she says that she does. Adam thinks he's just interested in her magic and Cassie doesn't really argue with him, though she obviously doesn't believe that. Then, suddenly, Diana is at the window of Cassie's car door and no one screams. It's just, hey, there's Diana. I would have shit. They're at her house, so I guess it's not crazy that she would be there, but still. She says that she was trying to reach them and is worried, but not about them being together. Cassie says that she'll fill Diana in and things seem a touch tense between her and Adam.

The day, Charlie is walking down the street when he sees Dawn and Diana together in a cafe. Dawn gives him a big smile and a wave and he enters the cafe. Diana says that she's leaving and Charlie sits down. He tells Dawn to stay away from Diana. He's still mad that she tried to kill his mother. Bygones, Charlie. Dawn says things just got a little crazy, but they've got two crystals and the Circle is bound. They're on their way to getting their power back. Can you imagine? Dawn with actual powers? Bad news. Charlie corrects her -- she has a dead crystal and he has "an alive" one. And, she's never going to get her hands on the live one. She asks why he's doing this to her (she's good) and he says that she's up to something and he's going to find out what it is.

Faye is at Lee's place and the moody, red lighting is in full effect. I wonder how that affects your vision after prolonged exposure. Faye says that, after Lee tried to siphon power from the Circle, she's not sure why she's there. That was on purpose? I just thought he did the spell wrong or something. Lee says that she's there because her "Circle skanks" don't want her back. True dat. Then, this guy, Jessica Lange's hot young piece in American Horror Story, walks in and is all dangerous swagger. His name is Callum and he says that Lee hasn't been returning his calls. He orders Faye to grab some beers from the house while he and Lee partake in some "shop talk," but she tells him to get them himself. He leers at her and says that he can't wait to get to know her better. Ew.

Jake is at his house, looking hot. He asks his opened window if Adam gave permission for someone to be there. It's Cassie! She's in the house! Behind him! She asks if he came back to kill her and he says she wouldn't be there alone if she thought that. She counters that she's been getting good at the dark magic stuff and he says that, if he'd wanted her to die, he'd have left her at the burning school. OK, so we need to work on the logic of Cassie's dark magic invincibility. You can try to kill her, but you can accidentally start a fire and that would take care of her? Cassie asks how they're going to find out what happened to her father, since they can't ask their parents nor the witch hunters. Jake says that he was there! He was a baby. He says that he had been hiding in his parents' car. Jake says that Cassie can connect with his memory to see what happened. FIRST AWESOME SPELL OF THE SERIES.

Jake says that he followed his parents onto the boat, but that's the last thing he can remember. Suddenly, Adam shows up and he's not happy to see Jake there. Jake says that he has been working on a spell to find out what really happened. He thinks that Cassie will be able to perform the spell and suddenly Cassie is all on board too. She says that she did the same thing with Faye at Henry's place. I guess that's true. Jake says the only risk is if the mind disconnects what's real, though there's less a danger of that with them all together. What? Adam even says that he doesn't understand that. Cassie says that she can't just wait around for the witch hunters to come after her with their witch-killing plan.

Callum is making a phone call and he sounds like a drug dealer. Lee tells Faye that he used to work with him and Callum says that it has been less than a year since they were partners. Callum asks how Eva is -- old girlfriend of Lee's. He says that they lost touch. Then, Callum asks if Lee has what he needs and he tells him that he doesn't deal anymore. This confirms for Faye that he's a drug dealer, but Callum says that he doesn't deal just any drug. He deals Purudenga, the devil's spirit. Shades of True Blood, don't you think? We're missing something here. Callum has some sort of power over him, because he forces him to go find the drug and leave Faye there. He seems really nervous. Callum has a little knife, but I don't think that could be the thing that convinces him. Faye says that she'll be fine. I don't understand what the obstacle is that keeps them from just kicking Callum the eff out of there. But, Lee goes to get the "stuff."

At the Boathouse, Adam and Diana meet and he tells her about the spell that Cassie is going to do. Diana seems jazzed by the idea, even though Adam is still all grouchy-puss about the whole thing. Meanwhile, Jake and Cassie are at the dock. Apparently, Chance Harbor does not have any clean-up crew, cause this shit looks exactly as devastated as it must have been 16 years prior. In fact, you probably don't even need much of a spell to find some evidence of what happened. Jake says that he doesn't remember what he saw the day of the fire. He puts some ash in a jar and says that they will need it for the spell.

That night, back at the Boathouse, Dawn sits at the bar and asks Ethan for a drink. She's in a bad mood and he asks if he can help and she tells him that he's sweet and always has been. She says that she envied how he was always there for Amelia when they were dating. Things got confusing for all of them. She tells him that Charlie choked her and Ethan says that he did the same thing to her. He tells her to press charges, but she says that he did it with magic. Well, he would know that because that's how Charlie choked him. What, did he think that he had a magic faucet in his head that he turned on from behind him? Ethan says that he'll take care of Charlie. They've never liked each other. She tells him that Charlie has a crystal and they will decide what the best thing to do with it is, once Ethan has it. That bitch.

Cassie's looking at a baby pic of Jake, Nick and their parents. He says that's the only picture he has of them. Even though their house is perfectly preserved? I don't understand, did they take all of the photo albums to the boat? No excuse, dead parents. Jake starts to put the spell together. He and Cassie hold hands and start chanting. They close their eyes and when they open them, they're on the boat! See, this is cool.

At the Boathouse, Diana says that Melissa is in Seattle with her dad (they love to just get rid of her whenever they want, don't they? STOP IT -- she's the best one) and Faye's phone is turned off. Diana says that she feels like the Circle is falling apart, but Adam offers that maybe finding out what happened the night of the fire will bring them back together.

Ethan gives Charlie a call. He says that he knows that he has a crystal and that he killed Henry Chamberlin. Charlie accuses him of being drunk, but he says that he's sober as a church mouse. He says that he's going to tell the elders and it's not as if Charlie can kill all of them.

Back on the boat, which appears to have already been burnt (seriously, I don't understand that -- why doesn't it sink?), Jake and Cassie discover that they can't be seen by the people from Jake's memory. Then, they see Jake's parents and he reacts sort of heartbreakingly. He wants his mommy. Cassie says that they should follow them, but when they do Jake's head starts to hurt really badly. He pulls himself together and they follow as we hear Jake's father say that the witch hunters agreed to leave them alone if they agreed to stop practicing, which he thinks is the right thing to do. Mom says that John said they can't be trusted, which makes Dad mad. Seriously though, Dad, you're a witch and you are going to trust people who go by the name witch hunters. That's like me trusting the Me Killers to tell me the correct dosage of medication. Cassie wants to follow them, but Jake says that everything else is blocked, something horrible is about to happen and they have to stay together. Cassie goes anyway and Jake screams for her then wakes out of the spell trance. Cassie is still in it.

So, it's a total shit show. Dad says that they should just make this truce, though Mom is worried that the Circle is falling apart. She says that John is there (Amelia isn't -- apparently, John had betrayed her) and doesn't think they should go through with the truce, but he convinces her otherwise. Just then, a stranger walks in a slits Dad's throat and takes Mom past a place where there are other slitted-throat people on the floor. She huddles with some lady named Lucy as baby Jake looks on. Adam and Diana walk in and find Cassie in a trance.

Callum tells Faye that Devil's Dust frees your mind and helps you tap into your inner strength, which, of course, perks Faye's ears. Lee arrives and gives Callum the stuff. Then, they kind of fight for a minute and it's kind of hot. Bad Boys Grappling will be my new Tumblr.

The bad guys have a guy tied to a pole and he has a hood over his head. It's John Blackwell and maybe they haven't cast the role yet. Seriously, why can't we see the guy? The head guy says that they have dark root colocasia, which is what they need to kill him. The guy says a spell, then lights a match and sets fire to the ring of herb around John. Cassie screams and a woman says to her that she's not supposed to be there. She can see her. Instead of following the woman, she walks into the room with burning John. Someone closes a door behind her and she starts to choke from the witch-killing stuff.

Cassie's choking starts to freak out Jake, Adam and Diana. They perform a spell on her to make her lungs expand. Adam demands that Jake go back and get her. They perform the spell again and Jake goes back and sees all of the dead people. We see that John is holding a necklace that allows him to control the fire and set the bad guys on fire. Then, he drops the necklace, which makes the fire out of control again, but he walks out untouched. Jake opens the door to let Cassie out, but they close it behind them, which is rude considering his mother is there. She bangs on the window before suffocating and dying. Um, sad. Jake and Cassie wake from the spell. How fucked would you be if you just went back and watched your mom die?

Lee says that he could beat up Callum, as Faye applies a cold compress to his face. He says that Eva was hood on Devil Stuff. Meanwhile, Cassie tells the others what she saw. Question, even if there's a fire, wouldn't the police know that the people died from having their necks cut? Cassie tells Jake that his parents were very brave. She also tells Adam that his father was there. Ethan has been lying about not being there that day. Adam and Diana leave.

At the Boathouse, Charlie arrives and gets blindsided by Ethan. At the same time, Cassie is back at the old boat. She finds the necklace that John had. Ethan takes the crystal, though Charlie tells him that Dawn is just trying to manipulate him and that she killed Henry. He doesn't believe him. Charlie also tells him that he doesn't want to repeat history -- uh oh, Ethan did something bad.

Cassie shows Jake the necklace and he says that she's safe now. She wonders if he might be alive. Jake knows where he's buried. Hmm. Adam drives Diana home. She tells him that she doesn't know how to be friends with him. He tells her that no one knows him like she does.

Dawn arrives at the Boathouse looking for the crystal. He won't give it to her. He's getting a little dark and it only makes him hotter. Faye gets out of a taxi near her house and Callum is there. I don't know how he knew her address. He's got some Devil's Shiz and she takes the packet, for future use.

Jake and Cassie uncover John's grave and open the casket. Inside, dog bones. HER DAD WAS A DOG.
