The big problem for Emanda, Amily, is still lingering in the Hamptons. Even worse, she's throwing her stripper self at Jack and he is completely receptive. Nolan tries to run interference and implies to Amily that pissing off Emanda is the last thing she wants to do, but she digs in her heels and defiantly pulls the "Whateva, I do what I want!" card. It's ballsy enough to go against Emanda's wishes, but Amily adds more balls to the ante when she convinces Jack she is in fact Amanda Clarke returned to claim her destiny. They bring their blossoming romance right to Emanda's doorstep since Jack figures Amanda Clarke would want to see her old house. That awkward moment when your childhood crush and dream guy falls in love with the stripper you switched identities with because he thinks she's you.

Emanda has a few "Aww hell naw" moments too many on account of Amily and feels the need to call in a favor from an old mentor, much like she did with Warden Stiles. This time, she brings in a mysterious Japanese man who gave her some training after she switched identities with Amily. He makes an appearance at an event at Grayson Manor under the name Mr. Takeda and cryptically gives her vengeance platitudes, again, much like Warden Stiles did.

Queen Victoria is also pulling out all the stops as her empire crumbles. She had been trying to subdue Lydia with medication once she started to remember the animosity from Victoria on the night of her accident, but Conrad absconds with Lydia without Victoria noticing during the party at Grayson Manor. Now that he has Lydia, he is out of the house and seems to be out of his marriage as well. Daniel also continues to hold a grudge against Victoria for directing Frank's murder investigation toward Emanda, who tries to make a show of playing peacemaker between mother and son. It doesn't work entirely, and Daniel continues to stay at Casa Emily. Queen Victoria feels her grip on her family is slipping so badly that she takes it out on Charlotte. She doesn't just forbid Char from seeing Dec like a normal mom. She goes over to the Stowaway to try and buy Declan off so he'll stay away from her daughter. Charlotte pretends to heed her mom's advice that ending things with Dec is for the best, but she sneaks over to continue seeing him and will continue to see him, leaving her mom completely alone and depressed in her mansion.

Tyler has once again grown ambitious after finding Lydia's Open Arms speech that would've exposed the Graysons. That ambition gets put to good use when Conrad pits Tyler and Daniel against each other in a bit of friendly competition to close an investment deal at a party for Grayson Global. The first one to do it gets full commission. Tyler is all vitriol against Daniel in trying to secure his future. He tries to gain a leg up by stealing Nolan's credit card and charging some clothes for him and Ashley so they can look good for the party, then asking Nolan to invest. The trusty whale spy camera comes into play again here. Nolan uses it to watch what Tyler does when he leaves him alone in the Fortress of Solitude. He catches a glimpse of the Open Arms speech and sees that Tyler has tried searching for info on David Clarke. Emanda suggests that Nolan go ahead and give Tyler an investment to placate him until they can figure out what to do. At the party, Nolan takes Tyler aside to talk business and then asks to continue their physical agreement. Ashley walks in on them kissing, which is... you know, not what you want to see if you're a girlfriend. Tyler manages to convince Ash that it's all part of their plan to not be so nice anymore and actually gets through to her that she needs to stop being such a lackey for Victoria. As a result, she offers up a little info on Emanda to Queen Victoria and makes a brunch date with her boss, whom she now calls "Victoria" instead of "Mrs. Grayson." Small victories.

Want more? The full recap starts right below! It's morning time out on the porch of Casa Emily. Emanda voice-over: "It's been written that a lover is apt to be as full of secrets from himself as is the object of his love from him. For my father, the secrets withheld by the woman he loved proved powerful enough to destroy him. I'm just now beginning to understand the enormity of that burden." Daniel comes outside to the porch and brings Emanda some coffee. He asks about plans for the day because he has to be part of an event for Grayson Global called "Business by the Beach," which will involve a beach volleyball match. Emanda agrees to come cheer him on. They kiss and Emanda immediately looks up to see Queen Victoria watching from her poorly green-screened balcony and makes sure to kiss Daniel again longer and deeper for the queen's viewing pleasure.

Ashley hangs up from a phone call at Grayson Manor and gets called in to the guest bedroom by Lydia, who asks for her wheelchair and her phone so she can call Conrad. Lydia seems really eager to do anything she can that will get her out of Grayson Manor faster, probably because she suspects they're trying to kill her, but maybe not. Victoria barges into the room and puts a stop to Lydia leaving. She asks Ashley to bring in Lydia's medications. Yes. Drugs are the answer. Ash goes out to the kitchen and runs into Tyler who is sporting a gross, gray tank top and gym shorts. I don't know... Tyler's yuck enough without having to picture him sweating, too. As she is wont to do, Ashley complains and complains some more about Victoria to Tyler. He convinces her to come cheer him on at volleyball later in the day.

It's a beautiful day out at the docks. Amily finds Jack washing down "The Amanda" and asks who's the boat's namesake. I think I would feel weird asking why someone named something after the person whose name I've assumed, but that's just me. Jack dodges the question and invites her out for a sail after lunch and she gladly accepts. Slut. Nolan happens to be walking by and spots the two love birds. Concern scrunches his face as he walks on without being noticed.

Beach volleyball time! Tyler's getting his ass handed to him by Daniel and generally looking a schmuck. Ashley and Emanda take their seats among the spectators and muse at the thought of naturally having to root against each other again since their boyfriends are competing. Ashley does her best to not be annoying in this scene and it's still annoying. She jabs at Emanda for "shacking up" with Daniel and complains some more about Victoria for good measure. Luckily for us, Emanda's phone rings and we get to get up and leave Ashley. It's Nolan with a spy report that Amily is still in town. He slips a distressed joke into his greeting, as always, about whether he should call Ems "Ams" instead, and relays what he's seeing. "Amanda is on 'The Amanda.'" This means war. Emanda says she'll be there as soon as she can, and walks out of the event without saying bye to Ashley or Daniel. Dan notices and then also gets snubbed by Tyler walking off the volleyball court because he's (surprise) a sore loser.

Victoria brings Lydia lobster bisque in bed. Man, I want to be thrown off my apartment building onto a taxi cab if it means lobster bisque in bed. Lydia tells Victoria she doesn't have to help her and she now remembers what happened the night of the benefit. She remembers Victoria telling her she wouldn't accept her apology and that she hates her. How awkward. They're interrupted by a knock at the door. It's the police with a warrant to search the house in relation to Frank's murder case. They've tracked the GPS of his phone to the premises. That and the fact that Conrad had recently fired Frank are reason enough for the police to start building a case against Conrad. They find the phone outside Grayson Manor and take it as evidence.

On "The Amanda," Emanda tracks down Amily sunbathing. She demands to know why Amily didn't get on the plane to Paris and also didn't call Emanda when she failed to do so. She claims she went to see Emanda personally and couldn't talk to her because she was busy with Dan, which is the truth as far as we're concerned. Understandably, Amily is tired of running. She wants a home and friends of her own. I find it hard to believe Amily wasn't a charmer back at the strip club. She'll take the name Kara Wilkins so she can stick around these parts and not draw suspicion. That's not good enough for Emanda. It's too risky. Amily calls Emanda's kettle black since she's living in her childhood house door to her target. Emanda's had enough. She flat out tells Amily to leave. Amily smugly looks up at Emanda and reminds her she doesn't need permission to do what she wants, and asks Emanda to step aside because she's blocking her sun. It's funny to see Emanda use her, "Can you believe this bitch?" face.

Irritated 3-D title card and commercials

Tyler walks into the downstairs parlor at Grayson Manor to find Conrad and Daniel finishing up a discussion of the volleyball match from earlier in the day. Conard ribs Tyler a little bit, so he volunteers some self-deprecation about his performance. This talk of friendly competition segues into Conrad talking about an idea he has about pitting Tyler and Daniel against each other to see who can close a big deal with a high-rolling investor at a Grayson Global recruitment party tomorrow. Winner takes all, literally. Full commission goes to whoever gets someone to buy first. Things are getting really catty between Tyler and Daniel. When Conrad suggests Daniel might have an advantage since they're trying to sell their investors the "Grayson lifestyle," Daniel stares Tyler down and says it's not much of an advantage since Tyler has lived it all summer, not-so-subtly implying Tyler has been freeloading. Tyler fires back, "Ambition versus nepotism. Game on." Victoria enters the room, disbanding the meeting. She's there to tell Conrad the police are building a case against him. He maintains his innocence, suggests Victoria start siding with his story and threatens to rip everything she cherishes away from her if he ends up going down without her support. The threat doesn't faze Victoria at all.

At the Stowaway, Nolan is trying his hand at cutting things off between Jack and Amily. It's not going over so well. He's pretty much being stonewalled by Jack and Dec because they have no reason to take Nolan seriously in the relationship advice department. He tries telling Jack that Amily is not the type to stay in one place. Not a valid argument considering she hasn't moved from her sunbathing spot on "The Amanda" all day. Making this argument reminds Jack he should probably go check on that half-naked girl on his boat.

Casa Emily. It's been a while since Emanda has had a chance to sit down and obsessively look over her revenge documents. She has a news article about Frank's murder up on her laptop and looks over his wallet. She brings up the mug shot of teenage Emily. FLASHBACK: It's just after young Amanda and Emily have agreed to switch identities. Still Amanda for the moment, she quizzes Emily about the past of Amanda Clarke, since she's likely to run into people who will ask questions. Emily is curious to know what it's like running into people who are aware of Amanda's father. It's the people who are related to someone who died in the plane crash that are the hardest to cope with, Amanda says solemnly. Last quiz question: Who is Jack Porter? Emily beams and quickly answers that he's the boy Amanda gave Sammy to. /FLASHBACK. Emanda's phone rings with a call from Nolan. He reports that "faux-Manda" is still causing a commotion at the docks. Emanda admits she's having trouble persuading Amily to leave and just needs time to let her cool off, so Nolan needs to run interference with Jack in the meantime. Nolan has another call. He switches over to an automated call from his bank about activity on his credit card. He pulls out his wallet and realizes Tyler has taken his card.

Grayson Manor pool house. Tyler looks over Lydia's reconstructed shredded speech and puts it in his pocket. He puts on his coat as Ashley walks in and hands her a gift -- a really expensive dress. He theorizes her looking good at the investor party will make sure he stands out to potential dealmakers. This is going to be the best boring investor party ever! Tyler's phone rings and he excuses himself to take the call which is from Nolan. Angrily, Nolan jokes about the type of kink Tyler must be into to spend five grand at a dress boutique. He expects Tyler to come see him immediately to return the stolen credit card. Coolly, Tyler agrees to come over because he had business to discuss with him anyway. Oh no... Tyler/Nolan business probably means shirtless Tyler.

There's a knock at the door of Casa Emily. Emanda goes to answer and is surprised to see Victoria standing outside. Queen Victoria just looks so out-of-place anywhere but Grayson Manor now. On the other side of Emanda's glass front door, she looks like some sort of poorly displayed/lit mannequin sporting a dress that's one size too small. Emanda thinks she's there looking for Daniel, but instead Victoria asks if she can come in to talk about how her relationship with her son has been strained ever since Emanda entered the picture. Calm and collected, Emanda asks what it is that troubles Victoria about her so much. With no regard for Emanda's feelings, Victoria declares it's maternal instinct. Emanda falls back on an apology for not being forthcoming about her juvenile record. She adds, "We all have thing in our past that we wish we could change, don't we?" as we watch the fake smile on Victoria's face barely perceptibly become a little more fake. FLASHBACK: Victoria watches David Clarke tearing up his living room, looking for his laptop. Knowing full well it's currently in the hands of Frank and Conrad, Victoria suggests that maybe David just left it at the office. That's enough to stop happy-go-lucky David from worrying. He invites Victoria to stay for breakfast so she can start to get to know little Amanda, but she declines because she hasn't told Daniel she's leaving Conrad yet. She asks if they can keep their romance a secret a little longer. Sure, why not? /FLASHBACK. Without any sort of prompting other than this reverie, Victoria threatens Emanda that she will live to regret it if she hurts Daniel. Still completely composed, Emanda asks to work out their differences. Victoria agrees for Daniel's sake and begins to leave, but Emanda stops her to say she's glad they had this talk because they might be family some day. Baha! Victoria forces a smile and leaves. Emanda smiles to herself devilishly.

Nighttime at Casa Emily. Daniel is home after his day at the beach and playfully calls out Emanda for skipping out on his volleyball match. She says she was called down to the station to give a statement to detectives in Frank's murder case. To further change the subject away from her suspicious behavior, she mentions Victoria's earlier visit and implores Daniel to forgive his mother since that's the only way he'll be able to put a stop to the power she tries to hold over his relationships. It's the most polite way I've ever heard someone say, "Cut the umbilical cord."

Fortress of Solitude. In Nolan's dimly lit office, Tyler hands over Nolan's credit card and thanks him for helping him look the part of a success. Nolan thinks Tyler looks like nothing more than a thief now. While we're calling names, Nolan must be a liar, Tyler protests, because he had promised to help him climb the ladder at Grayson Global. He can still help Tyler if he'll invest $20 million at the investors party tomorrow, which Tyler will gladly "repay." Nolan: "Transaction declined. Cash only." It annoys me that thus far Tyler is the only character whose response to not getting what they want is to start unbuttoning their blouse. He invites Nolan to think over this business proposal in the swimming pool with him. Nolan isn't interested at all. He has pulled out his whale figurine spy camera and casually set it on a shelf in the room during this conversation before declaring he must go meet with someone less crappy. Nolan invites Tyler to stick around while he's gone as long as he doesn't steal anything. Tyler literally crosses his heart and then immediately takes a seat at Nolan's computer when he's out of earshot.

Charlotte sits in her kitchen texting. We see a close-up of Charlotte's cell phone screen with a text to Declan which reads: "2nite's the nite!" Please say it's the night you stop typing texts this way, Charlie. Victoria enters the kitchen behind Charlotte, reads the text over her shoulder and asks with concern what 2nite is the nite for. Oh, mom. Char gets defensive over this intrusion of privacy, which launches Victoria into a lecture about Declan not being the right boy for her. She adds that she has already swiped Charlotte's car keys as she also snatches her daughter's cell phone off the kitchen counter. Charlotte screams that her mom can't do that, but Victoria walks off, holding the phone up and declares, "I just did."

Meanwhile, Declan is at the Stowaway fretting around the bar over being ready for Charlotte when she arrives. He buzzes past Jack and asks him to send Charlotte upstairs if he's not out of the shower before she gets there. Amily is there at the bar counter and giggles at how cute Declan is about all of this. Jack admits it's cute and walks off to attend to patrons. Nolan sneaks up behind Amily's barstool and gruffly whispers for her to get wise, take the money and leave. She's not intimidated. Instead, she tries to hurt Nolan's feelings by revealing that Emanda used to talk about him like he was a creepy stalker of her father's when he would visit him in prison. Nolan continues trying to be scary, adding that people Emanda wants gone usually end up gone in spectacular fashion. Amily gets up from the bar, suggesting Emanda should consider the ripple effect, and walks out. Jack returns and finds an empty barstool where Amily once was and asks Nolan where she went. He reminds Jack about his advice that Amily is a nomadic bad idea. Nolan downs the rest of his drink and starts to leave, but sees Queen Victoria enter the bar and thinks he must've been drugged or something. Victoria walks up to Jack and asks where she can find Declan. Jack tells her he's upstairs and that that's his brother before Victoria invites herself to go straight upstairs. She enters Dec's bedroom right as he exits the shower in a towel. He has a near heart attack. Victoria calmly asks Declan what his price is to stop seeing Charlotte. Dec asks Victoria, "Are you freakin' serious?" Queen Victoria without losing her trademark Botox smile: "I am freakin' dead serious." Stand-up Declan declines the bribe because he really cares about Charlotte, but Victoria insists that she is simply applying her experience to the situation and has the teenagers' hearts in mind. She asks again what Declan's price is.

Nolan comes home and immediately checks his spy camera on his laptop. He sees Tyler at his computer pulling out the shredded speech. Nolan zooms in on it and is able to read Lydia's exposé. Nolan's like, "Oh shit."

There's a boring investor study session going on between Daniel and Emanda on her couch. Daniel is reciting facts about potential investors and seems to be doing a good job. Emanda asks why Daniel's never tried to ask for her business. He figures he's protecting her since he's not sure if he'd even be good at it yet. Emanda excuses herself to take a phone call from Nolan. Oh-em-gee, it's multiple code reds, Nolan declares. He explains that Tyler, "The Talented Mr. Hamptons" (hehe), has reconstructed the speech "The Unbreakable Lydia Davis" intended to give to expose the Graysons at the Open Arms benefit. Emanda can't believe this slipped past her and Nolan. They were kind of busy that night, Nolan points out. There's another concern. It seems Tyler also searched for info on David Clarke. This means there's a chance he might start sniffing on her trail. Nolan mentions off-hand that all of this is in addition to Tyler trying to extort $20 million from him. Emanda gets the idea that Nolan should go ahead and invest in Tyler. She can't do it herself because she wouldn't be able to explain that to Daniel since they're in direct competition. The plan is to defund the deal before it goes through. Emanda is panicking a bit. She tells Nolan she shouldn't have trusted him to take down Tyler. He insists he can handle him. "Then handle him," Emanda hangs up. She walks over to her porch railing in distress and runs her hand over the etched infinity X infinity on the post (fantastic manicure, by the way). She pulls out her phone and scrolls through her contacts, stopping at the bottom where there is a listing that simply reads "X." She selects that contact and puts the phone to her ear. A man answers on the other end. She simply says, "It's Emily Thorne. I need to see you."

Poor Porter Bar. It's morning and Jack leads Amily past Declan while he is setting up to open the bar. Jack asks if he can handle opening the bar himself because he and Amily are off to go for a sail. He stops to ask Dec what Victoria wanted and says she scares the pants off of him. Dec relates that he didn't have pants on last night when he saw Mrs. Grayson. Jack thinks about it for a second and decides he doesn't want to hear about his little brother being pantsless with an ice queen and suggests they talk about it later. He and Amily exit. Dec gets a call from Charlotte asking if her mom came to see him last night. She asks what she said to him. Dec just says they really need to talk. Charlotte instantly gets the "he's going to dump me" look on her face.

Conrad sneaks into Grayson Manor and works his way through all the servants to slip into Lydia's room. She's so relieved to see him, and begs him to get her the hell out of there, explaining that Victoria has kept her trapped.

Out on "The Amanda," Jack lets Amily take the wheel for a bit. They let the sea breeze rush past them and just take in the freedom of it all quietly together. He stands close behind her with his hands on the wheel, her hands over his. This gives way to a timid kiss. Amily turns around and devours Jack passionately.

Charlotte enters Victoria's room, where she is sitting vacantly at her vanity mirror, to tell her that she can rejoice now that Declan has broken up with her. Charlotte declares she needs to go out with her girlfriends to get right. Victoria hugs her daughter and tries to explain it's for the best. Sadly, she really seems to be trying to connect with her daughter here. She tells Charlotte she loves her. Char doesn't return the sentiment and just asks for her car keys back. Victoria obliges, her face seemingly conceding she knows where Charlotte is really headed.

Boring investor party! Daniel is speaking with a Japanese businessman named Mr. Takeda, played by Hiroyuki Sanada (awesome), and his translator. Emanda walks up and impresses Daniel by speaking to Takeda in fluent Japanese. He responds to her directly in Japanese prompting Daniel to ask what he said. Emanda relates he's tired of talking through his translator and has invited her to talk at the bar. Dan's cool with that. They walk off arm in arm and Emanda suddenly speaks to Takeda in English when they're out of earshot. "I fear I'm losing control." He responds, "You were warned. Revenge is a stony path." They both turn to notice Victoria walking down the stairs. He continues, "Remember, inside the viper's nest, you must be a viper, too." They stare down Victoria who is obliviously smiling for her party guests. The two vipers now watch her intently like she is a rat to be eaten. Takeda asks Emanda how he can be of service.

Mr. Takeda is talking with Conrad while Daniel and Emanda watch from a distance. Daniel fears he didn't do much to impress him business-wise. Elsewhere at the party, Tyler is having trouble closing a deal with anyone and angrily says as much to Ashley. He asks her to go get him a drink when he notices Nolan enter the party. Tyler goes up to him and warns that he better not be wasting his time which he could be using to talk to actual interested investors. Nolan looks over at Emanda who gives him a look to echo her earlier sentiment of, "Then handle him," and he asks Tyler if they can negotiate in private. Tyler obliges. Back over at Emanda and Daniel's corner of the party, Victoria walks up to them and compliments them on being an attractive couple. Daniel calls out his mother for that being a pretty weak attempt at an apology, so she gives a proper apology directly to Emanda. She accepts and excuses herself, telling Daniel to be nice to his mother because she's the only one he'll ever have. Victoria asks Daniel to come home so she won't be alone, but Daniel says she'll be fine because he's just down the beach. Conrad calls out to him, so he walks away, leaving his mom hanging.

Tyler has taken Nolan into the pool house for privacy. Nolan lays down conditions for a business deal. First off, no more lying or stealing. Agreed. Tyler is obviously just going with whatever Nolan says and there's obviously no substance behind any of his concessions. The second condition is Nolan wants more "quality time." Done. And we have a deal. Nolan says he will have his guy wire funds to Tyler week. Splendid. Tyler starts to walk away, but Nolan stops him to ask for a little thank you. Tyler is like, "Ugh... fine, we can get all manwhore up in here if we have to." He gets on his tip-toes and presses his lips to Nolan's. Glass crashes to the floor at Ashley's feet. She is standing in the doorway, frozen like a British deer in headlights. Nolan: "Oh, hi, Ash. Love the dress." She runs out of the pool house with Tyler chasing after her. Nolan hurries over to Tyler's bag, starts digging through it and finds Lydia's speech. Mission accomplished.

Ashley gets all the way to the front door of Grayson Manor before Tyler catches up to her. She's already beating herself up about being too stupid to see that her boyfriend is gay. Tyler explains that he is simply what he needs to be when he needs to be, and that has closed him a deal worth $20 million. He turns it around on her and rebukes her for continuing to be a lackey for Mrs. Grayson, challenging her to "get in the game." They were supposed to have given up being too nice all the time. Conrad interrupts and asks if he can take Tyler aside. Ashley's still fuming when Tyler goes off with Conrad.

The two gentlemen go into Conrad's office with Dan to talk business. Conrad tells Daniel that Mr. Takeda was impressed but isn't ready to buy. Conversely, Nolan has agreed to buy from Tyler, so he will be getting the commission as soon as the funds are wired. Conrad pats Tyler on the shoulder and walks out. Tyler turns to Dan and gloats before leaving the room. Daniel watches his "friend" leave and some fire begins to develop in his eyes.

Back on "The Amanda," Amily has never been happier. She and Jack talk freedom and the feeling of being right where you're supposed to be. Jack tells her that any time she wants to take the boat out or him, for that matter, they're right there. Amily is floored by this gesture. She explains that she's had a rough life and it's a lot to take in that things are finally coming up Milhouse. Jack cheeses, "If it makes you feel any better, we're in the same boat." He says that whatever the deal is he can handle it. Then... shit gets real. Amily tells Jack he used to know her father. His face slowly realizes what she's telling him. Without actually saying she is Amanda Clarke when he asks, she cries tears of joy and tells him, "I want to come home, Jack." A huge smile forms on Jack's face and he hugs her. Does this bitch have a death wish?!

The boring investor party is wrapping up late at night at Grayson Manor. Victoria smugly asks Conrad if he'll be leaving as she goes to throw open Lydia's bedroom sliding doors to find that she and her things are gone. Conrad: "I moved her out earlier this evening while you were busy stabbing people in the back." He adds that he moved Lydia away somewhere safe from Victoria and there is no longer an "us" as pertains to him and his wife. He gives Victoria a goofy look of victory and closes the front door behind him. It shuts with a deafening echo that surely reminds Queen Victoria she now rules an empty home with an iron fist.

Dec is alone in his room at the Stowaway, doing whatever it is Declans do. Charlotte knocks on his doorframe. She asks how much Victoria thought she was worth. Dec smiles, saying he asked for $100,000 and Victoria countered with $25,000. He figures with that money he can buy a small place by the water where they can get some privacy. Charlotte is completely down with this and asks if they can start doing private things right now. They kiss and fall back onto Dec's bed. Teenagers these days... they're all about the sex and extortion.

Victoria and Ashley run into each other at the foot of the stairs at Grayson Manor with everyone else gone. They're about to part ways when Ash works up the nerve to ask why Victoria hired her. Queen Victoria doesn't even question the question before launching into the reasons being because Ashley is the best at what she does and she's close to Emanda. She then asks Ashley if she found it odd how quickly Emanda moved in with Daniel. Ash lets it slip that Emanda can be a tricky person. Victoria is intrigued by this, so she invites Ash to brunch to discuss Emanda further. Ashley accepts the invitation and calls Mrs. Grayson "Victoria" for the first time before walking out, her heart surely pounding cracks into her tiny ribcage. Every time a personal assistant calls their boss by their first name, a character gets its backbone.

It's late at Casa Emily when someone knocks at the door. Emanda goes to answer and is surprised to see Jack. He immediately brings up the time he told her about the little girl who used to live in her house and happily reveals it's the girl they met at Nolan's pool. Emanda looks like she's about to throw up something from the fish market. Jack is so happy as he goes on to explain that they have to keep this girl's identity a secret since she has a history with the people around the area. Amily slowly creeps up to Jack and Emanda from the side of the porch, a big smile on her face. Jack declares that he told Amily that she can trust Emanda. They are civil in fake introduction to each other. Jack continues that they're there because he wanted to show Amily the bench swing "her father" built for her. We are going to find out in a future episode probably that Emanda went inside the actors studio for part of her training because she does not let on that her insides are crying giant teardrops right now. Emanda's eyes slide down to see Amily take Jack's hand in hers. She returns her glance up to Jack's face with a look on her face that says, "This bitch," but Jack is way too happy right now to notice. He walks off with Amily like a third-grader with his first girlfriend. Emanda just looks off in the distance, holding back tears.

FLASHBACK: In a seedy motel room, young Amanda thanks young Emily for switching identities, and tells her to take care of herself and stay strong. They give each other one last hug and say goodbye, using each other's new aliases. When Emily (now Amanda) walks out of the room, Amanda (now Emily) walks over to her motel bed and pulls out the infinity X infinity box from underneath it. Emanda voice-over: "We all have secrets that we keep locked away from the rest of the world. Friendships we pretend... relationships we hide... " Amanda pulls out a memo from the desk of Warden Stiles which reads: "If you choose this path, and I hope you won't, call this number first. His name is Satoshi 011+... Fukushuu." Amanda pulls out her old flip phone and dials. She tells the man who answers on the other end that she is ready to continue her training. We cut to Mr. Takeda standing in a courtyard full of bonsai trees. He tells her she must come to Japan. She says she will leave tomorrow. /FLASHBACK. Emanda watches Jack and Amily sitting on her porch swing talking and laughing through her window. VO: "But worst of all is the love we never let show. The most dangerous secrets a person can bury are those we keep from ourselves." She turns away in disgust.
