Bravo to Bravo for making this show suspenseful when the winner of the show has been a logical conclusion since, like, Week 4.
The show begins with just a few days until the fashion show. Jillian and Christian bicker a little bit, but nothing major (remember that word). The designers have a joint model casting session and Jillian chooses models of different sizes and looks. She didn't really do that on purpose, though, and tries to recast her models the day before the show. No dice.
Then it's on to Bryant Park. Before the show, Tim tells the designers how excellent their work has been and that they are an inspiration to him. At the show, we see that Victoria Beckham is the guest judge! Jillian shows first. It's terrific. Her inspiration was the painting that she used for the last challenge, and it's stunning. Lots of feminine, modern, urbane clothes. She also added knits to her arsenal, and they were really nice, though Tim warned her about one of the sweaters not fitting into a look.
Rami showed . There was a lot of draping, like we've come to expect from him, but there were also woven pieces and pieces with nice tailoring. Some of the colors were a little wonky though, or "Brady Brunch colors" as Michael Kors called them.
Christian showed last and he seemed very nervous when he introduced his collection. He needn't have been because the whole collection was very accomplished. Sophisticated, daring silhouettes and a couple of truly breathtaking dresses.
The judges seemed to like all three collections, though they had some problems with Rami's colors, Jillian's focus, and Christian's feathers. Posh was all over Christian, though, and said she loved everything he did. Jillian is out first. And our winner is Christian!! He totally ugly cries before he wins. He reminds us that we should have known all along that he would win. Want more? The full recap starts right below!
Previously: The race for the title "America's Big Fashion Designer" was narrowed to Christian, Jillian, and...Rami. Apparently, we are going to have to wait a while to build that personal wardrobe of pieces made with human hair. DON'T LIMIT ME, FASHION WORLD. Since last week, I've spent some time wondering what exactly the hell Chris was thinking when he showed that stuff. I think everyone might need a refresher course on the true meaning of "Stay True To Yourself," because Chris seems to have fallen victim to a misinterpretation of it. Yes, Chris, you are the only designer here who would think to use human hair. Yes, Chris, this works splendidly in the sphere of costumes-- I'm sure you'd win a prize or something. But for Fashion Week? The manufacturing of more than, I don't know, ONE of his hair designs would probably pose a problem. It would at least make them near prohibitively expensive. Cause people like their hair. And, as Tim Gunn said in an interview recently, there was a lot of lovely tailoring and detailing on his designs that you missed because all that you could see was hair. He could have been true to his imagination without creating something essentially grotesque. They were pretty in theory, but...I can't really go for the hair. It's just too much.
With three days remaining until their fashion show, Christian and Rami are sitting in their hotel suite. Christian says that he really wants the fashion show to happen and he's very anxious. He seems really jumpy and frazzled and Rami just stares at him. Christian interviews that he can't even describe how much he wants to win because it makes him sick. One of the mannequins says, "Hey! PA! Make yourself useful and grab some sawdust."
Jillian comes out and asks if everyone approves of her hair. They do. Rami interviews that he is very happy that he is in the final three. And he'd like to win.
At the workroom, Christian stakes his claim to a little swath of floor space. As we see him staring nervously at Rami's collection. Rami interviews that Christian was impressed by his collection and looked concerned. Christian interviews (and we don't see his face so someone may have been holding a gun to his head) that he knows everyone's collections will be amazing. AND, it's really important to him what Jillian and Rami think of him. He wants them to think that they are competing with a strong competitor (we see his face when he says that. No gun. Maybe someone was holding his bare feet to a litter of licking puppies).
Tim enters and greets everyone. He wants to talk about their stuff, starting with Jillian. There's a sweater in her collection that he finds "incongruous." He thinks a different customer would wear it than would wear the rest of her collection. I'm not sure I agree with him right there. It may not be a completely linear through-line, but I can see how that piece could be worn with the others by the same person -- SAVE IT FOR THE RUNWAY SHOW, JEFF. Tim tells her to have fun and experiment. Jillian have fun? Have you met her, Tim? Jillian interviews that she doesn't really have a resolution regarding Tim's suggestion about the sweater look. She says she is going to trust her initial instinct and let the look "sing with the rest of the chorus." I'm imagining the gospel breakdown in "Like A Prayer" right now.
Tim moves to Rami who explains that he stepped back, per Tim's suggestion, and softened the look of some of his pieces. He says it was hard for him because he had worked on the pieces for a long time. It's interesting to me that this season of designers, arguably or maybe just absolutely the most talented in the show's history, will say things like Rami just said. It demystifies the notion of designing and creating a garment. Sometimes, upon getting some critique from Tim that would require they retool a piece, designers make it sound like their muse is holding them hostage. Instead, maybe it's as simple as, "I spent a lot of time on it and didn't want to throw my work away." Or even more likely, "I only know how to do what I did -- not what you're telling me." Rami's a talented guy, though, and can accept criticism and put it into action. He doesn't need to posture. In fact, he says he is happy with the results of the changes that he made. They keep showing the other designers stealing little peeks of each other's collections. It makes them all look really nervous. This ratcheting up of the tension works for me. In all likelihood, they are instead looking at a TV showing Ellen or at a lighting guy from production who just burped. I like it though.
Tim compliments a piece from Rami's collection and he explains that it was made with 1930s antique lace. It looks lovely, but I wonder if that helps your collection. I don't mean that rhetorically. Maybe for a couture piece, it doesn't really matter if you can't make another one, but the production of duplicates of that dress is obviously not sustainable. Or maybe there are warehouses of antique lace that I'm not aware of, which could very well be the case. In any event, Tim likes it. He calls it a "knockout" which Rami interviews makes him feel very confident.
Tim approaches Christian and asks to see his collection and it's accompanied by the creepy crazy-shit-is-about-to-happen music. Tell me how to feel, Bravo! Christian begins by saying that he knows that not all of his pieces are wearable or "perfect to wear out." He shows Tim a piece that he had shown him earlier and describes the changes he made to it. Tim acknowledges Christian's exuberance but wonders if some of his work is overdesigned. Christian looks nervous, which is such an odd emotion on him. He almost looks like a completely different person. He interviews that he hasn't changed a lot since his visit with Tim and that Tim was "concerned" for him. Totally declarative comment from Christian but we're still getting the scary music.
Tim tells Christian that he looks nervous and Christian places his hands real Mary Catherine Gallagher-like up snug in his pits and says that he is nervous. Tim asks what happened to the cocky, arrogant Christian. He giggles and says that he doesn't know. "I took a break." Like the Rami thing, Christian is talented enough to be able to say, "I'm effing nervous" and doesn't have to be like "I really stand by my collection. It's really what I intended to say and we'll just have to see how the judges react." I like it so much better this way. He interviews that he needs to win in order to start his business. He says that Jillian's collection is totally innovative and cool, while Rami is a very successful designer. Thinking about how he can compete with them is messing with his head. More of this please!! Aren't we all tired of bullshitters who bullshitted their way onto our TV's who are always "I'm the greatest!" Really, aren't we? I'm so fucking tired of it. If I have to watch these damn reality shows, and Lord knows I can't pull my damn face away from them (I'll watch you soon, Bill Moyers on my DVR. I promise. One day.), I'd really like for people to maybe be a little real. Or at least follow a less predictable model of behavior.
Tim leaves saying that their model casting will begin in 30 minutes. Later, Christian says that he "loves a good skinny Minnie." I'm assuming he's talking about models and is not Milanese. Jillian asks if they are going to fight during the casting. Rami dryly answers that he hopes not. Christian, while wearing a very dramatic hat from his collection, says that he thinks "they" will be expecting his supermodel walk, which he then demonstrates complete with several "bring it back"s and twirls. It's nice to know that, if he doesn't win Project Runway, Christian will have a blazing career modeling...dog sweaters and Christmas tree skirts.
Christian interviews that he loves models and will need some really strong, amazing girls for his show. The mannequins are like, "You didn't mention arms. Do they need arms?" Jillian interviews that she has never done a casting-- from this stage on, it's all a first for her. Uh oh. We're all familiar with Jillian and uncertainty. It's about as pretty as Stephen's maid's outfit. God, it seems like forever since that abomination, doesn't it? I'd like to reminisce for a moment about how truly awful that dress was. Done.
At the casting, all three of the designers sit together, while the models show them their walks. Jillian interviews that she will need petite models for her show. Oh, Jillian needs the thin runway models. This is going to be really hard since the fashion world is having their fat model moment. Born too late, Jillian! You're stuck with the size 2 cows. They should have a little pride in themselves, for God's sake. Jillian also informs us that she sometimes has a problem making a decision and sticking with it, prompting the mannequins to query, "Are we on Project Understatement?" Rami says that some of the girls they saw were great and his comments are accompanied by shots of a few presumably "great" models. Then, he says they saw some who were okay, which is accompanied by shots of a few more models. They don't really seem that different to me, but apparently they're only "okay." And some, he says, were tragic. Bingo! They show a shot of a girl who, I swear to all that is holy, is the only person besides me who can imitate the walk of one of the Swans on The Swan Season 1 beauty pageant finale. They were all choreographed at the beginning Swan Parade part and they somehow got out of step and this one girl had to do this galloping/walking-in-place thing to bring it all back together that is maybe the fifth funniest thing I've seen in my whole entire life, and this girl on the TV is doing it right now! How did we not cover The Swan?
Christian's needs from his models? 1) Edgy, 2) Dark skin, 3) Fierce tallness, and 4) Walks for days. So...Forrest Gump with a tan. I can't wait for his show. I wonder if The Swan will make the cut. We see one girl that all three of them love and John Pfeiffer, "Model Casting Director," tells them that she can "really turn it on." I don't mean to diminish the importance of John's job, but they all just said they love her. Do they need to be told that she can turn it on? Is it possible to be one of those models that only auditions well? , he'll tell them that she's a brunette and has an affinity for little bottles of champagne with straws and only an eighth grade education. It's like, we GET it, John.
That night, they all exhaustedly crash into their beds. Jillian calls out, "Good night, Ramina," before turning out the lights. The day, Rami tells us that they will be meeting with Collier Strong to work on the hair/makeup stories for their shows. Christian interviews that he was nervous the day before, but now he is excited for fittings and consultations. Rami asks, "Are you ready, bitches?" And, they're out the door.
Rami and Collier decide that they will emphasize "chiseling" on the face in an attempt to create shadows. Christian decides on pretty lips, strong eyebrows, and no eye makeup. Jillian wants to keep things natural, with a metallic eye for a touch of drama.
At the workroom, they start their fittings. It all looks a little hectic, with lots of models running around. Rami interviews that Christian's collection looks over the top. He thinks that Christian has a lot to learn about designing for women, not just models. Christian would disagree. There are tranny messes and there are models. He designs for models. What's the problem?
We see Lea, who must be walking in Christian's show, and she's trying to negotiate walking in these massively high heals. She's wearing a look of his and bitches about the shoes being uncomfortable. But, then she sits on a sofa while wearing the skirt and Christian's not having it. He interviews that his shoes for the show are amazing and he has not sympathy for Lea, because he "worked it" in the aforementioned shoes in his apartment for a week. They doubled his height. Amazing. He says, "If I can do it, these ladies can do it." At one point, Christian turns away from the camera and Lea points at the shoes and mouths something presumably about how uncomfortable they are. Or how they're stinky from Christian wearing them around his apartment for a whole week. When he says goodbye to Lea, and to Lisa who is also there, he tells them not to be late for the show and not to eat. They are apparently having some blood work done the morning of the show.
Late that night, after all of her fittings are done, Jillian tells Rami that she doesn't like her model choices anymore. She interviews that she wishes she had been more consistent with the look she chose. She calls someone and leaves a message about how she wants to trade one of her girls for some model named Svetlana. Christina interviews that Jillian is indecisive and chose girls of different heights. He mentions that this is her first model casting, but he stills thinks it is all her fault. Which I guess it is.
The day, with one day remaining before their show, they get to the work in the workroom. Jillian is still bitching about her models. She is annoyed with herself that she didn't have more of a theme in mind. Rami calmly suggests that she call someone and see if they can send some girls. She calls the same guy she called last night, some "Matty" character. She goes through her spiel again and he's totally like, "The show is tomorrow-- you're fucked." She thinks the difference in the heights of her models is going to be a big problem. Rami asks her if she can focus on the positive and she says no. That was kind of rhetorical, Jillian. He was asking you to stop whining. Rami interviews that Jillian can worry too much and it can be annoying.
They meet with Nathaniel from Tresemme. For Christian, they decide to go clean and shiny, with a folded bun that looks feathery-- which will complement his collection. Jillian asks for floaty, bouncy, and perfect. For Rami, the girls are getting clean and modern up-dos.
With 6 hours left in the day, the designers spend more time in the workroom with fittings. Jillian decides to embrace the "diversity" of her models. Lisa and Christian embrace before she leaves her fitting. He tells her to "Be Fierce." Seriously! Stop it! Christian interviews that he is tired of looking at his collection and tweaking it. He's ready for the show.
As they're packing their stuff for the show that will be the morning, Tim enters the room. He asks everyone to gather round. The designer stand with their arms around each other. Jillian calls Rami "Ramina" again and Christian calls them trannies. It's really a lovely moment. Tim says the order of the show will be Jillian, Rami, then Christian. He says that he doesn't have words to describe how impressed and proud he is. He says that there has never been a season of the show with such a high level of talent shown so consistently. They inspire him. And they all hug!
The morning, to the strains of the shit's going down music, Christian interviews that they first thing he felt when he woke up was nerves. They head for Bryant Park. They get there before daylight. Rami says that being at Bryant Park during Fashion week is like "standing directly in front of the heartbeat that pumps the bloodstream in the fashion industry in this country." That's a mouthful. They go into the empty tent and are in awe of the place. They all hug. Christian remarks that the runway is really long, perhaps resulting in a 45 minute fashion show. Jillian feels like she is officially part of the fashion industry.
With 2 hours before the beginning of the show, they all start scrambling and fitting and whatnot. A couple of Christian's models were late. Their teams of dressers were helping them as well. With one hour before the show, the audience starts arriving. We see Laura Bennett! And Andrae!! And Jack with that chef guy! ["Dale! Siiiigh." -- Joe R] Christian is still waiting for a model and he's looking a little frazzled, but still okay considering the circumstances. There's Jay McCarroll. Ew. And Kayne of Many Colors!! Rami is greeted by Fern Mallis, the Senior VP of IMG Fashion. She tells him that he "deserves" to be there. Finally, Christian's model shows up just as Sister is about to mess up her mascara. He bounces back though and the model apologizes.
Nina and Michael takes their places by the runway. And, um, that's Posh Spice sitting to them. Yes. And, no. Rami reminds us that he's living the dream he's had since he was five. Christian says that this is a make-or-break time, because he needs the prize money from the show to start his business. He hair sprays his do and he's ready to go. Jillian says that she looked at her models all ready to go and though, "I did it." She says that she started to feel a little choked up, but I think she means that relative to her normal dryness. She maybe smiled a little bit or something.
The show is beginning and Heidi takes to the runway. She introduces Nina, Michael (in sunglasses), and Victoria Beckham. Posh gets some huge applause. Jillian enters the runway and tells everyone that she hopes everyone is inspired like she was. And, the show begins.
The first look is a tailored dress with a wide neckline. It's a metallic green color. Underneath the dress is a green hoodie. The model is wearing a fedora and a wide red belt. It's a cute look. The movement at the shoulders is really cool. is a short pleated green skirt with a red belt and a red woven scarf.
Here is a black jacket with a ruffled front seam. The trim is gold. There's a high neck that is accentuated by the ruffle. It's matched with tan slacks. The slacks are nothing special, but the jacket is really beautiful. Jillian interviews that she couldn't believe she was watching her own show and she was astounded by what she had done. It's great when you can astound yourself, isn't it?
This look is a misstep. It's a metallic green dress with off-the-shoulder sleeves of black lace. It has a really short skirt that has that hyper-pleating action that Jillian is so fond of. That's all okay when compared to the bodice, which is all wrong. In keeping with Jillian's armor theme, there are lines over the bust suggesting the shape of flat, off-center boobs. It's just weird. Why would you do that to her chest, Jillian? Let's move on. This is ugly.
The look is a cute ruffled skirt and a fitted jacket with a tailored waist and cap sleeves. The look is a sweater with a plunging neckline. The sleeves are made of many rings of fabric, creating a lot of volume. It's super cute. There are black and white horizontal stripes on the front of the sweater. It's matched with a high-waisted skirt with pockets. I like this.
The look is another fitted jacket, this one with red and gray panels. It is really gorgeous and intricate. Another sweater (?) is with little oval shaped cutouts below the bust. I didn't know that Jillian was big into sweaters. is a super-constructed armor-like sheath, coupled with a short skirt. She might have problems explaining this. It fits the inspiration, but still seems a little out of place.
She gets big applause for the look, a party dress. It's black and gray, with a high waist and a scoop neck. There is a clear crinoline on top of the skirt with a wide band of silver around the hem. It's really cool and pretty. Another party dress follows. It's a beautiful deep blue color and could give Rami a run for his draping money. It has a plunging neckline and a ruffled skirt. An evening pantsuit is . It's a take on the earlier green catastrophe, but the bustier works much better here, without those weird sleeves. The pleated slacks are amazing. Jillian comes out with her models and does a curtsy at the end of the runway. Everyone claps for her backstage and Tim says that it could not have gone better.
Commercials. So Bravo is asking who they think should win. I'm guessing folks will go with "audience favorite" Sister Christian.
We're back and Rami takes to the stage. He says that he really believes in his collection and he's celebrating women "which is what it's all about." Yawn. He thanks his family and the show begins. The first look is a party dress that...is not totally draped! In fact, there's a lot of stuff happening here. It has cap sleeves and pleating that starts at the neckline. It has a constructed corseted waist and bubbles a bit in the skirt, courtesy of more pleating. It's a bright blue color.
is a chic pantsuit. It's also blue, but a little darker. These blues are not the greatest choice. Here's the veal dress from last week. It actually looks really nice on this model. are a pair of bright red slacks and a top that has a tailored satin bodice and billowing fabric for sleeves and the bust line. It's nice except for the color of the slacks. Just not very sophisticated.
Here's a cute red party dress that is draped and falls right above the knee. It has capped sleeves that almost look like a small cape. It's cute. Here's a short red skirt with lots of detailing matched with a black blouse with a tie at the neck. The blouse has been done a million ties, but the skirt is nice (though that color....)
He gets applause for the look, which is a small shrug over a red blouse and black slacks. The blouse is draped from the neck with lots of pleating. It's very flattering. The slacks are high-waisted and fitted at the waist. Then, they balloon in a riding pant fashion. They're very nice. Here we have a one-shouldered draped blouse and matching slacks. In tan. Meh.
Up is an evening dress with a woven bustier that fades into the skirt. Totally gorgeous. Then, we have a gold one-shouldered evening gown. More applause. It's Grecian and like a lot of what you've seen from Rami, but it's very pretty. Here's the evening gown with the antique lace. The lace has been arranged in very interesting geometrical patterns. It's really very beautiful. And, finally, we have Rami's black gown from the last challenge. I still don't have a problem with the panels on the hips. Everyone seems to love it. Rami walks out with his girls and kisses Heather at the end of the runway.
Christian comes out to a lot of applause. He sounds nervous. He thanks everyone for coming and tells them all that they look "fierce." Of course they do. The first girl comes out. She's wearing a full skirt of feathers and a long-sleeved high-necked leather/vinyl top. She's also sporting a wide-brimmed hat. It's making a big statement. we have a skinny black pant and a voluminous belted top with a lot of ruffles around the neck. There's a ton of detailing happening on the top, but you can't really see it due to it being black.
Christian says that Victoria Beckham is a style icon of his. Jesus. The look is a skinny black pant with a black jacket with different detailing, same-ish proportions. Still can't really tell you what the detailing is. Christian says that the clothes in his collection were very him, as well as the showmanship. The look is a...skinny black pant and a black top. This is also voluminous around the neck with lots of ruffles. The sleeves are transparent and full at the upper arm and fitted cuffs below the elbow. Also belted. I don't mean to sound like the stuff's not good, but we're seeing a lot of the skinny black pant and the voluminous top, which will be the name of my first children's book.
Christian gets applause for the look. It's a skinny black pant and a fitted black blouse with a voluminous flowing black jacket. It's made of layers and layers of flowing fabric and is really dramatic and gorgeous. I have to say, too, all of the skinny pants fit real nice.
There's more applause for the look. It's a skinny black pant with a fitted black jacket and an off-white neckpiece that is made of many layers of white organza or something similar. It's topped with a very wide-brimmed hat. It's perfect for the girl who wants to disguise herself. No one will see your face in this. Again, though, very dramatic and, if not wearable, beautiful. Here's an off-white fitted blouse! Lots of pleating detail and it has a seam at the center, which is interesting. It's paired with loose black slacks. He was really mixing it up there.
is a short red with short sleeves that is belted at the waist. Under the tunic, off-white organza sleeves come forth. Looks great. Here's a soft pink slack and an incredibly full, ruffled blouse. Looks a little bit like the pirate shirt on Seinfeld, but different strokes.
More applause for the look, which is AMAZING. It's a sleeveless, fitted dress in many, many vertical panels of organza. The color palette is off-white to brown and the colors fade gradually across the panels. This dress is freaking ridiculous. It's belted at the waist. Looks terrific. Finally, we have a long-sleeved high-necked evening gown. It's covered in feathers and has the same palette as the look. The crowd seems really impressed. It looks great, but I think it must look even more impressive in person. Christian and the models return to stage. Christian does a sassy little pose at the end of the runway, which is so completely unlike him.
From the peanut gallery: Jay McCarroll says that Rami is going to win. Kit Scabo No Longer Pistol likes Jillian. Kevin Christiana liked Christian. Padma Lakshmi likes Jillian. Nick Verreos is a Rami fan and loves the woven pieces that we saw.
Phew -- that was intense. Back at Parsons, before the designers join them, Nina and Michael say that the three finalists could have fit in with any one else showing at Fashion Week -- they were that good! So, they bring out the designers.
Heidi says that she was blown away. We are reminded of the numerous prizes that the winning designer will receive- the money, the car, the agent, the Bluefly.com. Heidi introduces Nina, Michael, and "pop and style icon" Victoria Beckham. She has her own line, dvb by Victoria Beckham. I wonder how Posh feels about Heidi essentially calling her man a sissy. She congratulates all of the models.
The models return to the stage now. Jillian explains that she used the painting from the Metropolitan Museum challenge as her inspiration. She emphasizes that it was just a jumping-off point. Posh says she likes Jillian's attention to detail, Chim Chim Cheree. She sounds like a chimney sweep, no? Michael thought that Jillian's work was feminine and modern. And, he liked her knits. Heidi says they saw a lot of new shapes from her in her collection. Jillian says that she tried to be innovative and Heidi says that she was. Nina ends the party though. She says that it looked like maybe Jillian had too many inspirations and the collection was a little disjointed. It lost the "essence of Jillian."
Christian says that he was shooting for a "hard and soft" effect. He stumbles over his words and Heidi asks what's wrong with him. He's nervous! Heidi expects him to be...just ten minutes and maybe you'll never have to hear that word again. Michael relates to Christian's nerves and says "it's like jumping off a cliff." Posh says that Christian's stuff is very much her style and that she found it "major." I'm going to seriously puke. Michael says that Christian is dramatic, but it's also chic. He thought the dress at the end of his show was "spectacular." He wonders about all of the black though. You lose some of the work. Nina thinks that maybe Christian is a bit heavy handed. Posh says that the collection may have been monotonous but it was so much her style that she loved it all. He made her smile (I want to die) and she's not easy to make smile (kill me). She and Christian share a moment and are in love.
Rami says that Joan of Arc inspired him. Heidi says that she loved the collection, especially the woven work. Michael liked the woven pieces, but didn't like some of Rami's Brady Bunch colors. Posh thought the collection was lovely. Nina thinks that Rami has a great strong point-of-view. She thinks that, though he showed a lot of separates, his strength is in evening wear.
The designers leave. Michael brings up Jillian's knitwear again. Posh thought there were some nice silhouettes. Nina thinks that Jillian doesn't know what her signature is -- which, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to break this down for a minute. Here's the thing -- when you look at Christian's work, you think, "Wow, a really talented designer made this stuff." When you look at Jillian's work, you think, "I totally see the woman who wears these clothes." They just seem so specific to me, which I think is awesome. They're urban, smart, feminine. I want to be friends with the girl who wears Jillian Lewis. Granted, maybe I have a little help visualizing that because Jillian is also one of the women who would wear those clothes, but I think it's more than that. You see how they would fit into a certain woman's life. With Christian's collection, I think of women at Bergdorf's who are like, "What an amazing giant blouse with a crazy muzzle/neckpiece. This is so beautiful. I'm getting it." Then, they get home and are like, "When the fuck am I ever going to wear this? Damn you pretty flow-y things!"
Nina thought Christian's show delivered strongly from the very first look. Posh goes on about how stylish and fresh and major it was. Michael says it's not for everyone. Nina thinks his stuff can be over designed. Michael says that Rami is cerebral and it shows. Posh loved his "attention to detail." They've made their decision. The designers return. Commercials!
With 43% of the votes, Christian is the favorite of Bravo texters. We're back on the runway. Heidi repeats that they all put on great shows. Christian looks like he's about to shit himself. Jillian is out. No! Not to me, you're not! She thanks everyone for the experience and hugs Rami and Christian. She interviews that she was very disappointed. Good for her for being disappointed! I hate it when people are all, "I showed at Bryant Park! That's the most important thing." Winning is the most important thing, and if you don't believe that then you were nevah gonna win, Blanche!
It's Christian and Rami now, just the two of them. Christian is seriously losing it. His lip starts shaking. It's really kind of heartbreaking. He wants this so bad. It's not about validation or attention right now-- it's just this kid with a freaking iron will who wants to win SO BAD. It's kind of amazing, also, for its lack of entitlement. He just wants it, and he's done what it takes to win, and he's letting himself want the shit out of this in this moment. I hate to say that life makes a fun target of people who want so openly, so I won't. Because Christian just won. Dude loses it too. Wow, he's really in this moment. Rami is such an amazing sport and immediately gives Christian a really big hug, which he needs. Then, Heidi apologizes and he leaves. She could have apologized to Jillian. Rami interviews that the show has done a lot for him and we haven't heard the last of him. I wish he'd been a sad sack like Jillian.
Heidi hugs Christian and tells him that he's "uber-fierce." Never again, people. That word. I can't. Christian interviews that it's crazy that he won. Posh tells Christian that she would love to wear his clothes. Lisa comes onstage and fake cries to Christian, and suddenly I hate her. She's really showy and says how talented Christian is, and it's gross. Christian's family joins him onstage. He interviews, "Hello, did you have a doubt? Come on. What up?" Christian says that he's taking a vacation, but we are all going to see more of the "fierceness." Well, I do believe we are going to see a lot of Christian in years to come, but I'm really hoping that it's silent viewing. No talky.
