Kellerman's "friend" is in hot pursuit of Thor, complaining about his back pain. Thor mutters disinterestedly in response, leading the guy into an exam room. The guy mentions again that he's a friend of Kellerman's. Thor looks up, dubious and more than little nauseous. There's a thin sheen of sweat of his face. He asks the "friend" to hang on a minute, then rushes from the room and into the washroom across the hall. Did I say within the hour? That was, like, less than three minutes.
Dalgety's just finishing up with a patient in the CAT scan room. As the woman gets wheeled out on a gurney, Jolly Maid Gina pops up in the doorway, asking if someone called for housekeeping. Dalgety nods and turns, asking the technician to run the films upstairs for him. The technician glances past Dalgety to the doorway, looking nonplussed. Dalgety's face conveys the very blue state of his balls, and the technician reluctantly slides off his stool. He warns Dalgety that he has another patient in twenty minutes and suspiciously lisps, "Don't make a mess." Nothing like a little gay stereotyping to bring the funny. He disappears, and Dalgety pulls Gina into the room, starting to make out with her before the door's even closed. She warns him that, although they've steamed up just about every available surface in the hospital, she won't have sex with him in this room. In response, he pulls something out of his pocket and holds both fists out for her to choose one. She's a little disappointed when her present turns out to be a "piece of trash." Dalgety turns over the tiny slip of paper, showing her that it says, "Wherever you go, go with all your heart." He tells her that he thought of her when he read it. For a change, their kissing is interrupted rather than enhanced by his beeper. Glancing at it, he says he has to "go save a life." "I love you," Gina calls as he heads to the door. Which is exactly what you say to a commitment-phobe a week after you start riding his beeper. Dalgety stops in his tracks and cautiously turns to face her. She asks coyly what she would see if she were to take a scan of his heart. She's obviously hoping for some dippy, romantic answer, but Dalgety mutters something about blood and ventricles instead. Gina laughs and sends him off to save that life. She actually tells him, "Go save a life." Dalgety pauses in the doorway, looks like he wants to say something -- gee, I wonder what it could be? -- and then sheepishly waves before taking off.
Yang, meanwhile, is checking Mr. Lin, pressing her stethoscope to his back and asking him to breathe. She's surprised to find that his lungs sound clear, but assures Mr. Lin and his wife that he'll be fine. Posner comes in and tries to break the language barrier by means of breaking the sound barrier. Slowly and very loudly, he assures Mrs. Lin that they will help her husband. Yang looks mortified. Posner pulls her aside for the lowdown on Lin. She tells him that he has an elevated white blood count and a lower left lobe infiltrate. Posner's pleased to hear it, telling Yang that she's "got an easy one here." He prescribes a course of antibiotics and baby-sitting. Yang adds that there's something odd: Lin's lungs sound clear. Posner clarifies that there is a lung infiltrate. Yang hesitates briefly and confirms it. Posner is satisfied. He tells Yang to get ready because they're "heading for another hit," and then heads over to Mrs. Lin. "He. Has. Pneumonia," he shouts. He widens his eyes and points frantically to himself and Yang, yelling, "We're. Going. To. Make. Him. Better." Then he adds an emphatic thumbs-up. Mrs. Lin assumes that he must be deaf, and hollers that Mr. Lin has had pneumonia before. Posner mouths "okay" and scuttles for the door before he gesticulates himself a hernia.
