In the lobby, we watch Joyner get her change scattered all over the floor again. This time, though, we know that the oaf who plowed into her is none other than the Y.O.D.A., all hopped up on goofballs and such.
Dalgety and Kellerman have their exchange in front of the vending machine. Kellerman goes to ask after Thor. Cue the doctor rushing in with the nurse in his arms. Déjà vu with the scenes outside and inside, until the sheet falling over the dead nurse tells us we're seeing new stuff again. Pangborn and Dalgety work together to help a housekeeper with a collapsed lung, as Joyner and Levi try to pry a street sign off a nurse. Inside, Posner repeatedly asks whether anyone has heard from Yang. Fishlips stands and watches the pandemonium around her, at a loss.
Yang, meanwhile, is watering the Lins' garden, blissfully unaware of what's happening. Her beeper sounds, and she glances from it to the hospital in the distance, thinking they're paging her about Mr. Lin.
Dalgety is heading back inside, but stops as he feels something crunch under his feet. It's Gina's clump of charms. He recognizes it, and starts looking around for her. He spots a hand protruding from under a sheet of metal, covered with blood. That can't be good. Finding her unconscious under it, he tries to breathe.
After commercials, we join Kellerman racing inside the hospital with a gurney carrying Gina. Dalgety's perched atop her, applying chest compressions. Fishlips waves them into a room, and someone informs her that they're out of nurses. Coones covers the mouthpiece of a phone and tells her they've got to get upstairs to deal with the press. She tells him to handle it, and rushes back to Kellerman. Yang staggers in, looking gobsmacked. Posner, relieved, rushes up to ask where she's been. Kellerman spots her and tells her to get a blood gas. Thor joins the docs around the gurney, asking who the patient is. Kellerman glances at Dalgety, and Thor mutters, "Oh, man." Kellerman tells them to stop compressions. Gina flatlines. Dalgety tells them to resume CPR. Someone announces that Gina's skull is crushed. They stop compressions, and she flatlines again. "She's gone," Thor says. Dalgety springs into action, calling for epi. Kellerman says he already gave it to her. Dalgety calls for intracardiac and starts pressing on her chest again. "Dalgety," Thor says sharply, trying to snap him out of it. Kellerman checks Gina's pupils and declares them non-reactive. "Stick her hearrrrt," Dalgety orders. "And bring back a turnip?" Thor asks. Dalgety comes up short, gasping for breath. "Your own words, man," Thor adds, for those of us who developed spontaneous amnesia within the past forty minutes. Dalgety doesn't care. He tells Kellerman to "stick her hearrrrt, man." The monitor drones with the sound of her flatlining as Kellerman gets the syringe and Yang swabs Gina's chest. Kellerman plunges in the needle. Gina's heart starts beating, and Dalgety finally lets out his breath. He barks a few orders before staggering away. Bracing himself against a table, he forces air into his lungs.
Cut to Thor and Dalgety wheeling Gina's gurney to an elevator. Dalgety leans over and whispers, "Gina Reyes, don't you leave me." Well, she's as good as gone, now.
