Day 12. Linden deals with the fallout of Jack's disappearance as she and Holder learn that Rosie was regularly depositing money at the casino while wearing various saucy outfits. At last deposit, Rosie's account was up to nearly seven thousand dollars. They question Terri, whose name is on the account, but she gives them nothing. A visit with Holder's former undercover partner turns up the possibility that Rosie may have been working for an escort service called Beau Soleil, whose patrons have been known to get violent. Further digging turns up that it was, in fact, Terri who was working for Beau Soleil. They question her again, and she admits she showered Rosie with gifts from her dates, which may have inspired Rosie to check out the service herself. Terri (a.k.a. Simone) also gives the detectives a lead on a John who goes by the moniker Orpheus, has a drowning fetish, and suspiciously closed his Beau Soleil account at four in the morning on the night Rosie died. Holder books a date with the escort who warned the other girls of Orpheus' proclivities. For her part, Linden e-mails Orpheus, thinking Orpheus is likely Tom Drexler. She gets antsy and pays a visit to Richmond to ask him about Drexler's campaign contributions. Instead of confirming her suspicions, she shockingly learns -- at the same time as Holder, thanks to his witness -- that Orpheus is Richmond! Richmond is Orpheus!
While Stan sits in prison, Mitch hears a voicemail left by Janek, his old Polish mob boss. She immediately assumes that Stan is back in the business and goes on a tear, firing Belko and taking Stan to task when she visits him in jail. Stan counters by calling her out for driving him to abduct and brutalize Ahmed. She continues on her warpath to antagonize and insult Terri for being an overgrown child. As Mitch wallows in the anger stage of grieving, Stan is mysteriously released on bail.
Before the big reveal, Richmond gets a late-in-the-game gift when Native American remains are discovered at the construction site of Mayor Adams' waterfront project. Drexler summons Jamie to celebrate the good news, during which he parades around various bathing Beau Soleil beauties. Adams, meanwhile, gives Gwen a packet of photos of Richmond with Beau Soleil girls. Who hasn't been, apparently?

Previously: Stan bought a house and didn't tell anybody. Then he beat the ever living crap out of Rosie's teacher and did tell some people. Namely, the cops. Rosie deposited money into a casino ATM and didn't tell anybody. Richmond told bad boy billionaire Tom Drexler to give him $5 million. And Mayor Adams couldn't stop telling everyone about how his waterfront renewal project would save the city.
Night 11. Construction workers dig up the waterfront project until they find something suspicious. Upon further inspection, it appears to be a human skull. As Linden curses out her husband for practically abducting Jack, Holder shows her the ATM still of Rosie depositing money at the casino. Credits.
Holder shows Linden the various pictures of Rosie depositing money at the casino. He says he almost missed her because he wasn't used to seeing her so dolled up. Linden notes that the last ATM still was grabbed at 12:37 AM on the night that Rosie died. Holder tells her Rosie was putting in some serious cash -- almost $7,000 at last count. He wonders what she was doing for that kind of money, then says, "You know what the best part is? It's not her account."
Day 12. News breaks quickly that human (specifically Native American) remains were found on Adams waterfront construction site. Adams and his advisers know he's sunk. Meanwhile, Richmond is fielding calls from all major media outlets and everyone's mother to endorse him. Jamie thinks they're unstoppable. "I mean, nothing beats dead Indians. Didn't you see Poltergeist?" Richmond admits he's not even slightly chagrined for the incumbent. Speaking of fellow nemeses, Jamie tells Richmond that Drexler has invited both of them over for an impromptu celebration that evening. Gwen says Richmond doesn't have time for such things because he's doing an interview with the local newspaper. Richmond agrees and sends Jamie to do the dirty work with Drexler. The phone rings. It's Senator Eaton for Richmond.
Meanwhile, the phone is also ringing at Stan's business while Mitch cleans out his file drawers. The call goes to voicemail (the old kind where you can actually hear the message that's being left). It's Janek Kovarsky, the Polish mafia boss for whom Stan used to work. Mitch is incensed and interrogates Belko when he comes into the office. Belko clams up, so Mitch fires him without blinking an eye. In prison, Stan leaves a message on Mitch's voicemail. He tells her he has an appointment with the psychologist and that he misses her.
Elsewhere, Linden and Holder question Terry as she prepares the boys for school. Turns out it was her name on the account Rosie was using. Terry admits she let Rosie borrow her ID to get into a club one time. Holder shows Terry the ATM stills of Rosie at the casino and asks why Rosie was hanging out there -- no less making fat deposits into a shady banking account. Terry insists she has no idea what Rosie was doing and defensively tells them they have no right to talk about Rosie like that. She storms out and tells the detectives not to let the door hit them on their asses as they leave.
Downtown, Adams approaches Gwen on the street to hand her a mysterious envelope and a claim that he's here as a friend of her father. She is understandably wary of this sudden gesture, but he cryptically tells her to be cautious of the company she keeps before handing her the envelope. She doesn't refuse it.
In one of Seattle's seedier neighborhoods, Linden and Holder welcome a street walker into their car. Or, as it were, Holder's ex-partner in vice. I will not even attempt to recreate the banter between these two old chums, but rest assured it's awesome. Long story short, Holder's former partner used to work an undercover operation at the casino. She never saw Rosie but says she looks like a Beau Soleil girl. What is Beau Soleil? An escort service with johns who've been known to get a little rough.
Jamie enters Drexler's party to find a bevy of young girls swimming in a glass bottom pool above the main room where Drexler approaches, wearing naught but a robe and an insufficient Speedo. Drexler prattles on about how big Richmond owes him, though Jamie's more concerned with pretty young things floating above. Drexler assures him, "Beau Soleil girls are discreet." Jamie says that, with the election coming up in 14 days, he can't be there. Drexler says that he certainly can because the Richmonds of the world will always clean up his messes. Drexler says his five million-dollar donation is going to pay off, then tells Jamie to grab a bathing suit and join in on the fun.
Prison. Stan asks Mitch if she got his message. She coldly tells him she was out with the boys. She adds further that she never called the bondsman because all their money is gone. She tells him Janek called, and Stan doesn't have the chance to tell her the full circumstances of the missing savings and his visit to Janek. It's one of those infuriating conversations where a few words could shift the tide of conversation. Instead, the two people continue stubbornly down their elliptical speech patterns until they accuse each other of things they've been holding in for who-knows-how-long. In this case, Mitch thinks Stan never changed from his gambling, good-for-nothing mobster ways and Stan thinks Mitch is to blame for his current predicament since she basically emasculated him and goaded him into nearly killing Bennet Ahmed. He tells her the only reason he's in jail and she's out there is because he had the balls to admit what he did. He hangs up angrily and calls the guard.
SPD. Holder says that the Beau Soleil girl who got roughed up by a john can't be found because of her alias. However, he has a written statement from her before she passed out on the night of the crime. She described the perp as a male of medium build with curly brown hair and five o'clock shadow. So far, Linden is unimpressed. Holder tells her to read on. She reads aloud that the perp was rambling in a coked-out haze about a basketball stadium and a city conspiracy against him. Holder thinks it sounds exactly like Drexler, and he's emboldened by Drexler's two priors plus an ex-girlfriend who testified to his violent tendencies. Linden says they need more.
As Holder tells her they're double-checking Rosie's computer for hits on Beau Soleil, they head into their office where Linden's ex is waiting. He apologizes, but Linden is in no mood to hear it. He insists that Jack needs a father and invites Jack to be part of his family, if only during summer vacations. Linden tells him he should have thought of that before he left. He asks, "If it weren't for Jack, would it have even mattered to you that I did?" She stares him down in stony silence. He begs her to let Jack see him before he leaves on Monday, but Linden tells him she'll have him arrested for kidnapping for even coming near Jack.
Holder cuts off their conversation to update Linden that the tech guy has found something. He shows them a redirected website that turns out to be Beau Soleil's. All the pictures have obvious pseudonyms attached to pictures the highlight bodies rather than faces. Linden hones in on a pair of shoes she recognizes from Rosie's locker. Holder is certain that it's Rosie in the picture, but Linden recognizes the jacket as someone else's.
Flash forward to a bar, where Terry is explaining why she decided to become a Beau Soleil girl. She doesn't see any problem that she gave her teenage niece the shoes she earned through hooking. Linden points out that Rosie visited the escort service's site three days before she died. A look of horror crosses Terry's face as she says that she was working at that time, so it couldn't have been her. Holder asks if any of Terry's patrons ever got rough with her. She admits there was an internal message board on Beau Soleil that the girls used to warn each other about dangerous johns. She starts to cry as she remembers one girl in particular writing a message about a guy with a drowning fetish just weeks before Rosie died. She can't remember the guy's name, but thinks the girl's name was Celine. What's worse, the message mysteriously disappeared from the message board. Terry promises them she'd do anything, then trails off before she can say -- hopelessly, impotently -- to get Rosie back. The detectives get up to leave. Just before the reach the door, Terry remembers the john's name and calls out, "Orpheus."
Downtown, Richmond fields questions from the newspapers whose endorsement will seal his victory. They think Richmond's soft-spoken nature will be his undoing. He claims it's a strength, that he knows how to build consensus, and that four more years of Adams will only lead to more finger pointing and bickering. The reporter notes that leaking the story about Adams' affair sure seemed like finger pointing. Richmond tries to skirt the denial, jabbering about candidates' private affairs and whatnot, but the paper wants a direct statement on the leak. Richmond lies that it did not originate from his campaign. The reporter moves on to the second anniversary of Richmond's wife's death, asking, "Do you think she'd approve of how you've run your campaign?" Richmond sits there, paralyzed, perhaps enraged. Gwen tries to get them to move on, but he finally snaps to and gives an answer about how Lily showed him every part of the city and how she was his compass. He says that, if he's elected, it will be because of Lily. This stings Gwen especially.
Stan's psych session is going predictably poorly. He tells the psychiatrist of a dream he has where he comes home from a job and finds his family sitting around the table with another man in his seat. The shrink asks how it made him feel. Stan says he "didn't feel nothin'." The family, on the other hand, was fine. The psychiatrist wonders, "So who was that man at the table?"
Cut to Chinatown, where Holder and Linden have located the cover operation for Beau Soleil. After some convincing, they get inside and get the front man to give up the servers to the site. They quickly find Celine's post and real name, as well as Orpheus's e-mail address. They can't get any more because Orpheus closed his account at four AM on the same night Rosie died.
Terry plans to get dinner for her and Mitch and wonders if Belko will want the same crap he always eats. Mitch tells her she fired Belko. Terry wonders what will happen when Stan gets out of jail, but Mitch says that's not going to happen since Stan gambled away all their money. Which he didn't. Terry says as much, and Mitch basically calls her a loser and an interloper who knows nothing. It becomes a debate over who really knew Rosie. The answer, of course, is that no one did.
SPD. Linden writes an e-mail to Orpheus. Subject: "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID." She sends it and waits, in the midst of which she gets a call from Holder, who is waiting for a paid rendezvous with Celine. As they chat, Linden becomes distracted by a clipping about Drexler's sizeable donation to Richmond's campaign. Just as she wonders if Richmond knows something relevant, Holder hears a knock at the door of his hotel room. Celine enters with her Audrey Hepburn style and her faux French accent. Holder shoves the money in her face like an anxious first-timer. As soon as she takes it, he drops the act and tells her he can take her in for her three priors. She asks what he wants, so he gets down to business and asks her about Orpheus. She plays dumb, so he shows her the crime scene photos of Rosie. "See you were the dress rehearsal," he tells her. "She wasn't." Celina insists that Orpheus seemed "sweet" and "kind of sad." Then he took her to the waterfront and got to talking about the feeling of drowning. She says it creeped her out. Holder assumes she knows who Orpheus really is, or she wouldn't be so scared. He asks directly if it was Drexler. She avoids his gaze and gets up to leave. He grabs her but isn't going to take her in, so he lets go, and she walks.
Meanwhile, Stan makes bail, thanks to Terry.
Linden still hasn't gotten back a message from Orpheus so she calls in a colleague to watch her computer for her while she goes out to investigate further.
Gwen looks at the documents Adams gave her.
Holder gets a call from Celine. She tells him, "You don't know what you're getting yourself into." She demands protection in exchange for her testimony, then says, "If you want to know who Orpheus is, go to the corner of Fifth and Jackson."
Somewhere decidedly swankier, Linden pays a visit to Richmond, who is celebrating his endorsement from the newspaper. She politely declines to join him for a drink, then asks him about Drexler's contributions to the campaign. Richmond wonders if there's something he needs to worry about. She says she can't tell him anything, then advises him to keep his distance. Richmond's phone rings, and he heads into another room to take the phone call. Linden looks at Richmond's pictures as Holder searches the streets for Celine. Linden gets a phone call from her colleague, who says Orpheus has read her e-mail but hasn't responded. She tells him to send it again. From inside Richmond's apartment, Linden hears a ding that signals received mail. She grows suspicious and tells her colleague to send the e-mail again. Holder continues searching the streets, and the e-mail dings again in Richmond's house. Holder finds the telephone booth from which Celine made her phone call. It's abandoned. Linden walks into Richmond's office to investigate the noise and tells her colleague to send the e-mail again. Again she hears the ding. Just as she looks at Richmond's e-mail account, which has work e-mails as well as her "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID" spam, Holder finally sees what Celine wanted him to see: A wall of Richmond posters on Fifth and Jackson. Richmond appears in an ominous shadow in the doorway and asks, "What are you doing." Just then, we see what Adams gave to Gwen -- pictures of Richmond entertaining Beau Soleil girls in his campaign car, in restaurants, and hotels all over town. Holder continues to look at the Richmond posters as Linden finds herself in a stand-off with Richmond.
