Previously on Felicity: Julie invited Ben on a date, and Ben agreed to go. Felicity asked Ben if he was using Julie to make her jealous, and Ben asked if Felicity was using Noel to make him jealous. Noel told Felicity that he doesn't know why she broke up with Ben, but it didn't work, because she's still in love with Ben.
Felicity sits in a restaurant and sadly contemplates an 8-ball key chain. Noel comes in and says that he can't stay long because he needs to get to his new job. Felicity asks about the job, and Noel explains that he's the new guidance counselor at UNY. Felicity nods and says, "Oh, right!" Noel asks what she means by that, and Felicity covers by saying that she's happy for him. Noel says that it's only until something better comes along, and Felicity promises him that something will; she says she knows it for a fact. Noel kind of smirks and Felicity backpedals, and then tells Noel that she wanted to see him in order to give him the key chain for his new apartment. Noel thanks her. Awkward pause. Felicity quickly says that she knows that they can make their relationship work, and that she really doesn't want to be with Ben because he's done terrible things to her. Noel asks about the terrible things, but Felicity says that she wants to be with Noel, and he has no idea what she's gone through to be with him. Noel shakes his head and then says, "I never thought that I would say this to you. Felicity, it's just not the right time." Felicity insists that it's the only time. Noel apologizes and starts to leave. Felicity stops him and looks around. She begins, "Noel, this is going to sound insane, but remember when I said that you have no idea what I went through to be with you? That's because I am not here like you think I'm here. I mean, I'm here, but I came from the future." Noel looks concerned and says, "Excuse me?" Felicity explains, "I traveled back in time so I could be with you." Noel laughs and looks around for the hidden camera. Felicity says intensely that she's serious, and that she left the future on the night of Noel's wedding. Noel is understandably confused. Felicity explains that Noel was marrying this girl named Zoe, who works at a graphics firm where Noel will be employed, and that Meghan did a spell so that Felicity could come back. Felicity realizes that Noel doesn't believe her, and looks dismayed at Noel's reaction. Noel says that he has to leave for work, and then babbles that he'll think over their conversation. He thanks Felicity for the key chain before leaving. Felicity stares off into space, wondering if she just made things a little worse or a lot worse.
At her apartment, Meghan takes pictures of some flowers. Felicity walks in, and Meghan says that she borrowed Felicity's camera for her Photography class. Felicity -- still stunned from her conversation with Noel -- says that it's fine. Meghan asks what's wrong, and Felicity says that she just destroyed five years of friendship with Noel. Meghan points out that Felicity has only known Noel three years, but then remembers "those wacky time-travel years." Felicity tells Meghan about her conversation with Noel, and Meghan advises Felicity not to go around blabbing about her time travel to people. Felicity tells Meghan that she has to go back to the future, and begs Meghan to find an alternative to Korsakoff. Meghan holds up a finger and stands up. She picks up a book from the bookshelf. Some people on the forums thought that the book's cover changed when Meghan passed her hand over it, but it didn't -- it looks like they changed the speed of the film, or slowed down the film, or something weird, though. Anyway, Felicity wants the book. Meghan tells Felicity that it's "hardcore Wicca," and she's not sure if Felicity can handle it. Felicity says that she's desperate, and asks where they can set up the spell. Meghan refuses to be involved, and hands the book to Felicity, who starts paging through it.
Julie and Ben are in the loft, looking at a map. Julie asks Ben what his favorite place was when he drove across the country with Felicity after freshman year. Ben says, kind of sadly, that the whole trip was nice. I'm still mad that we didn't get to see any of that trip. Julie says that she can't wait to go to Dollywood. Ben rips on her for liking Dollywood, and Julie defends her choice as she peers at the map. Ben shakes his head and says that his road trip with Felicity was a really long time ago. Julie agrees. They look at each other, and Ben says that he was just thinking he should go with Julie on her cross-country trip. Julie asks about his classes, but Ben says that the pre-med thing isn't working out. Julie asks if he's going to drop out, and Ben says that he'll come back when he knows what he wants to do. Julie says that she would love for him to go. No!
Noel walks into the loft and asks what Ben and Julie are up to. Julie smarmily says that they are planning a road trip. Noel asks Ben if he can talk to him. They both stare at Julie until she gets the hint. She leaves to go talk to a guy about a car for their road trip. Once she's gone, Noel asks Ben if he's talked to Felicity lately. Ben hasn't. Noel sits down and says that he thinks Felicity is doing drugs. Ben laughs. Noel says he's not kidding. Ben can't believe that could be true. Noel tells Ben that Felicity thinks that she traveled back in time. Noel explains what Felicity said, and Ben says that Felicity must have been joking. Noel says that Felicity wasn't joking, and that there's something seriously wrong with her.
There's a knock on the door at Meghan and Felicity's apartment. It's probably Elena knocking on the closet door, begging to be let out. They must have locked her in the closet, and that's why we haven't seen her much in the last few episodes. It's kind of like on Party of Five, how they kept Owen in the basement. Sean walks into the living room, which is filled with flowers, and asks who died. Meghan says that they're all from her new boyfriend. Meghan hands Sean a shoebox containing the things he left at her place: "Three socks, the toothbrush, half a Speed Stick, and your Tae Bo video." Sean pulls a flip-flop out of the box, which Meghan must have forgotten about, and asks what happened to the rest of his stuff. Meghan says that she threw it out. Sean jealously asks about Meghan's new boyfriend. Meghan says that his name is Paul, but she calls him "Sweetie" because he's so damn sweet. Sean asks if Paul is a florist. Meghan takes another picture of the flowers. The doorbell rings, and Meghan asks Sean to get it. Sean does, and accepts another flower delivery; this time, it's a bunch of sunflowers. Meghan peeks at him while he signs. I can't believe that Sean is falling for this fake-boyfriend thing. Meghan should have said that her boyfriend's name was Harvey Glass. Then again, I don't think Meghan watched The Brady Bunch much when she was growing up. Meghan snaps a picture of Sean holding the flowers for her photography project. Meghan claims that she and Paul have an inside joke about sunflowers, and then reads the card, reacting with a really, really fake laugh. Sean looks upset, and leaves.
Javier gets a manicure in the back room at Dean & Deluca. Isn't that a violation of the health code? Elena comes stomping in and says that she thought Javier had a rehearsal, and that's why he couldn't help her with her Spanish exam. Elena can't believe that Javier lied to her, and couldn't do her a favor. Javier says that he's going to be a star after his opening night week, so I guess he needs to have nice nails. Elena says that she hopes it's worth it, because he already lost a husband and now he's losing a friend. But Javier didn't break up with Samuel for good until after Thanksgiving. Is it after Thanksgiving? I thought it was only a few weeks after Tracy and Elena's non-wedding. Then again, the fire (which comes up later this episode) happened after Thanksgiving, so I guess the timeline is okay. Javier chases Elena out into the front, but stops short when he sees that the cash drawer is open and all the money is missing. Wait, so they're open? I figured Elena had a key or something. And when has Dean & Deluca ever been this empty? This whole subplot stinks. I'm glad for Javier and Elena to get some final screen time, but you'd think they could have come up with something better than this.
Felicity adds a bunch of ingredients to a simmering pot and chants a spell. In one part, she has to prick her finger and add some drops of blood to the pot, and I swear to God, they had the needle miked because I could hear it popping through her skin. So gross. Anyway, over Felicity's shoulder, we see Ben watching her. Felicity notices him and looks like she's trying to think of a possible explanation for her actions, but decides to keep her mouth shut. Ben asks how she's feeling. Felicity asks if Noel talked to Ben. Ben says no, and then after a moment admits that he did, but only because Noel's worried about Felicity's time-travel theory. Felicity says that she knew that Noel didn't believe her. Ben asks if it's true. Felicity looks him in the face and says, "Yes. I came from the future so I could be with Noel, and now I'm doing a spell so I can get back." Ben just nods. Felicity says that she's been thinking about how she could prove to Ben that she's telling the truth. Felicity tells Ben that his father is having liver problems, and that there's a woman named Lauren, and Ben's father is her AA sponsor. Ben looks confused. Felicity tells Ben to call his dad, and that she has to get back to her spell. Ben looks worried and says that he will. He walks out, and then starts to walk back, but finally leaves. Felicity doesn't notice, since she's focused on her spell.
Ben walks into Noel's room and says that Noel is right, and that there's something going on with Felicity. Noel tells Ben to check out something he found on the internet -- the criteria for psychosis. Noel reads off the first two symptoms, and says that Felicity has both of them. Noel says that at least Felicity doesn't have the third: "Grossly disorganized and bizarre speech and behavior." Ben thinks for a minute and then admits to Noel that Felicity was pricking her finger with a needle and chanting. Noel realizes that Felicity fits all of the criteria. Ben asks what they should do, and Noel has no idea.
Felicity is putting a bandage on her finger when she hears a knock at the door. She answers it to see Ben and Noel standing there with really fake cheesy smiles; they simultaneously breathe out: "Heeeeeey." Hee! Felicity asks what's going on. Noel asks if they can talk to her. Felicity looks kind of unsure, but says, "Sure." The two guys follow her inside. Felicity asks Ben if he called his dad, and Ben says that he left a message. Ben says that they both really care about her. Noel adds that they are both on her side, no matter what. Ben agrees vehemently. Felicity glances at them cautiously. Ben says that he and Noel have been talking about "this whole time-travel thing," and Noel says that they are worried about her. Felicity says that she's fine. Noel asks what she would think in their place. Felicity knows that it sounds nuts, but it's absolutely real. Noel asks, "What if it just seems real?" and pulls out a printout from the website they were looking at earlier. Felicity reads it and asks, "You guys think this is psychosis?" Noel says that they just want her to talk to someone. Why wouldn't they take her to Toni Pavone?
Felicity sits in an office, talking to a scary, official-looking woman dressed all in gray. Felicity says that her friends talked her into coming there. Gray Woman asks what's going on. Felicity says that Gray Woman will think she's crazy, too. Gray Woman is silent. Felicity says that she might be able to talk about it hypothetically, and Gray Woman agrees. Felicity says that she might think that she traveled back in time, and wonders what Gray Woman would say. Gray Woman thinks that it would be very scary, and wonders how it would affect Felicity's life. Felicity says that it's affected everything. Gray Woman wants to know how. Felicity says that at first it was kind of fun, knowing what would happen, but now she's in a panic. Gray Woman wants to know more. Felicity says that she wants to get back to her real life. Gray Woman says that she might be able to help, and she takes out a pad and paper.
Julie walks into the loft. Sean asks if she's getting ready for her road trip, and says that he thinks it's great that she's doing this, since she's wanted to do it since freshman year. Julie asks Sean if he's okay, and Sean says that he is. Sean asks what Julie thinks of Paul. Julie hasn't met him yet. Because he doesn't exist! Sean guesses that Paul is rich and good-looking. Julie says again that she doesn't know. Sean wonders why he would try to compete with a rich, good-looking guy. Julie says that she heard that Sean and Meghan were really good together. Sean thinks, and then admits that they were, until he wrecked it. Julie says that if Sean was lucky enough to find someone great, he shouldn't let her go. Thanks, Pink Power Ranger. Should anyone really be taking relationship advice from Julie?
Ben and Noel wait in the lobby of the loony bin. Okay, psych ward, whatever. Gray Woman comes out, and Ben asks about Felicity. Gray Woman says that Felicity is fine, but that they want her to stay for a few days for observation. Can she be hospitalized without her permission? She's an adult. Maybe she agreed to stay. Should someone call her parents? Ben asks to see her, and Gray Woman says that he can. Ben asks Noel if it's okay, and Noel says it's fine.
Ben walks into Gray Woman's office, where Felicity sits, still kind of shocked. Felicity says that they think she's crazy. Ben puts a hand on her arm and says that they just want to watch her for a while. Felicity asks Ben if he believes her, or if he thinks she's sick. Ben says that he wants to believe her, but...and Felicity fills in, "It's crazy." Ben says the only thing that really matters is for her to get better. Felicity agrees that this might be the only way. She looks around the room and then admits that she's scared. Ben says he knows, and grabs her hand.
Felicity sits in a hospital-type room, except that there is chicken wire in the windows. A nurse takes Felicity's shoes and jewelry. The nurse tells Felicity that there is no hitting, biting, or spitting. Felicity asks, "'Biting'?" The nurse explains that some of the patients get out of control, and sometimes they need to use restraints, but that Felicity shouldn't let that alarm her. Oh, of course not. The nurse tells Felicity that meals are served three times per day, and that there is a pay phone down the hall that she can use with her own money, or make collect calls. So now I know who all those stupid Carrot Top commercials are aimed at -- people in the loony bin. It all makes sense now. The nurse leaves Felicity, who looks terrified.
Meghan can't believe that Noel and Ben had Felicity locked up. Noel asks what they should have done. Meghan thinks that they should have supported her, since she wasn't hurting anybody. Ben points out that Felicity was dripping her own blood into a pot. Meghan yells that it was part of the spell. Noel claims that doing spells is "bizarre behavior," which is one of the signs of psychosis. Meghan says that it's like the Salem Witch Trials, and that they might as well have Felicity burned at the stake. Ben says that they were just trying to help. Meghan says if she's not smiling the time they see her, she hopes they won't hospitalize her for depression. Meghan stomps out. Ben and Noel feel dumb. And yet none of them tries to get Felicity out of the hospital.
Felicity walks down the hall in the loony bin, and passes Zoe. I have to say that I totally did not see that coming. Felicity calls Zoe by name and asks what she's doing there. Zoe doesn't know Felicity, obviously. Felicity explains that they don't know each other yet, and introduces herself. Felicity asks if she looks familiar to Zoe. Zoe asks if they've met. Felicity says that it will sound crazy, but that Zoe is going to be engaged to a friend of hers. Zoe doesn't run away screaming, so I guess she's had a lot of interaction with the other patients and is used to people saying weird things to her. Zoe thinks that Felicity is talking about her ex-boyfriend, Patrick. Felicity says that she's not, and then starts spouting off facts about Zoe, and her father, and his business. Zoe wonders how Felicity knows this. Felicity says that it's hard to explain, but seeing Zoe is proof that Felicity's not crazy. ["I don't really see what that proves, but whatever." -- Wing Chun] Zoe excuses herself, looking a bit worried. Felicity says that it really helped her.
Ben is sleeping in his room when the phone rings. He picks up, and Felicity says, "Zoe's here." She's really not helping in the "not crazy" campaign, is she? Ben sleepily asks who Zoe is, and Felicity hurriedly explains. Ben doesn't say anything. Felicity claims that seeing Zoe is proof. Ben is still silent. Felicity asks if he believes her. Ben says that he does, but that it might be part of the illness. Felicity says that she saw Zoe. Ben reminds Felicity of the criteria. Felicity asks if Ben thinks that Zoe was a hallucination. Ben suggests that Felicity talk to the doctor, and get some sleep. Felicity sadly agrees. Ben tells her that it's going to be all right. Felicity apologizes for bothering him, and hangs up. Ben Folds sings "The Luckiest." Ben lies in bed, staring at the phone. Felicity lies in bed at the hospital, also not sleeping, but crying.
Ben's phone rings. He answers it and says, "Yeah, this is he." He pauses, then looks very surprised as he asks, "I'm sorry, what did you say your name was?"
Cut to Ben bursting into Noel's room and waking him up. Noel asks why Ben is in his room. Ben explains that some woman named Lauren just called and told him that Ben's father is sick. Noel asks if Ben wants to talk about it. Heh. Ben explains that Felicity knew that this would happen. Noel says that there has to be another explanation. Ben asks what other explanation there could be. Noel says it's possible that Lauren somehow told Felicity first. Ben retorts that Lauren said she didn't tell anyone. Noel knows that Ben wants to believe Felicity, because he does, too. Ben says, "I think I do believe her." Noel tells Ben to sleep on it, but Ben doesn't want to. He starts to walk out, and Noel asks if Ben actually believes that Felicity traveled back in time. Ben responds, "Yeah, I guess I do." Ben walks out.
Zoe signs herself out of the hospital. Felicity sees what's going on; when Zoe sits down to put her shoes on, Felicity asks if Zoe is going home. Zoe is. Felicity apologizes for her behavior earlier, and says that she's been a little panicked. Zoe says that when she first got into the hospital, she was scared, too, but it got better. Felicity is happy to hear that. A nurse comes over and tells Zoe that her father is there. Zoe asks Felicity if "this guy Noel" is cute. Felicity says that he is, and that the two of them are happy. Zoe says that she could use some happiness, and she and Felicity say goodbye.
As soon as Zoe walks out, Ben peeks his head around the corner and whispers, "Hey!" Felicity stands up and tells Ben that it's so good to see him. Ben pulls Felicity back down, whispers the story about Lauren calling, and reveals that he believes Felicity now. Felicity is psyched. ["As it were." -- Wing Chun] Ben apologizes for putting Felicity in the loony bin. He glances around at the security guard, then takes his visitor pass off and clips it to Felicity's lapel. Felicity asks what he's doing, and Ben says that he's going to get Felicity out of there. He looks around, and then grabs her hand and leads her out in to the hallway. They walk toward the door, backtracking a few times when doctors or nurses approach. Finally, they have a clear shot at the door, and they make a break for it. They get out the door safely without being stopped.
An investigator gives Javier a polygraph test at Dean & Deluca. There's a dumb joke where Javier lies about his age. The investigator asks how long Javier was in the back room on the day of the robbery, and Javier claims that it was no more than a minute or two. The machine goes nuts. Javier wants to answer that question again, but the investigator refuses. Javier says that he knows that they will just beat it out of him and calls the investigator "Sipowicz." Javier demands that they arrest him, because he was getting a manicure in the back when the whole thing happened. Javier screams, "I'm guilty of vanity! Throw all the books at me!" and holds his hands out in preparation for being cuffed. The investigator explains that they just want to know if Javier took the money. Javier says that he didn't, and the machine is silent.
Sean gives Meghan some silk flowers, because he explains that all of the flowers from Paul will die, but his will live on. Sean asks Meghan out to dinner, but Meghan claims that she has plans with Paul. Sean insists that Paul must be overcompensating for something, what with all of the flowers. Meghan asks if Sean thinks she can only get "one-ball losers." Mean! But ha! Meghan changes her mind and says that they should go to dinner together, but first she needs Sean to help her with her presentation for Photography class. She explains that Paul was supposed to help her, but he can't, because he has "an arm thing." Sean agrees to help. Meghan tells him to meet her at 3 PM, and then says enthusiastically, "It's going to be so much better with you there!" Sean looks happy.
Felicity and Ben sit in a coffee shop. Felicity says she feels like men in white coats are going to come and drag her away, but Ben promises that he won't let that happen. Ben asks what happens to them in the future, and why she came back for Noel. Felicity thinks for a minute, and then admits that Ben cheated on her. Ben is shocked. Felicity sighs that it's a long story. Ben says that he would never cheat on her. Felicity says simply that he did. Ben wants more, so Felicity explains that after she slept with Noel, Ben wouldn't forgive her, and he ended up with Lauren. Ben asks, "So I cheated on you with Lauren?" Felicity says that it was actually with Claire. Ben wants to know who Claire is. Felicity explains that they met Claire in Palo Alto, and that Ben followed her there after graduation to do their last year of pre-med. Ben is surprised to hear that he is still pre-med. Felicity laughs and says that's why she's been trying to tell him earlier that he should stick with it. Felicity explains that things started to unravel between her and Ben, and that she walked in on him and Claire, and that was the end. Wouldn't this be a good time for her to remember that Elena died, too? Ben doesn't know what to say, and Felicity says that it's not exactly a normal situation. Ben apologizes and says that she's there now, and he hasn't cheated, and he's not going to, ever. Felicity asks, tears in her eyes, "Really?" Ben promises. He puts his hands on the sides of her face, and they kiss.
Meghan stands in a darkened classroom with the following words projected onto her face: "Retribution: When Love Curdles. By Meghan Rotundi." She reads the title of her project aloud, and we see that Sean is working the slide projector. Meghan calls for the first slide, which is a picture of Meghan looking pissed. She explains that this was her, after her boyfriend dumped her for another girl, whom he hadn't seen in over a year. The class laughs. Meghan calls for the slide, and Sean reluctantly clicks on. The picture is of Sean, sleeping. Meghan says that this is her ex-boyfriend, sleeping alone, because the girl for whom he dumped Meghan can't stand him. Meghan uses a laser pointer to show where Sean is drooling on his pillow in the photo. The class laughs some more. Meghan calls for the slide, and Sean doesn't respond, so the guy to him grabs the clicker and hits it. It's a picture of Sean holding flowers. Meghan explains that it's her ex holding flowers from her imaginary boyfriend. Sean is shocked, but no one else is. Sean walks out, and Meghan follows him out into the hall, saying that he can't leave before the Q&A. Sean tells her that this was mean, even for her. Meghan asks, "And dumping me for Julie was nice?" Sean claims that it was completely different, because he didn't set out to hurt Meghan. Meghan tells him to go crying to Julie, except that he can't because she's going on a road trip with Ben. Sean tells Meghan to have fun with her fake boyfriend, and he hopes that they get married and have imaginary kids and run off to Never Never Land. Meghan hopes she does, so that she'll be far away from Sean. Sean says, "Not far enough for me," and walks off. Wow. Go, Sean. This Meghan presentation setup had a lot of promise, but I think it could have been a lot funnier.
Felicity and Ben walk into Felicity's apartment. Julie, Meghan, and Elena greet Felicity. Julie says that Felicity looks good, and Meghan points out that Felicity was only gone a day. I wish we could see more of Meghan being mean to Julie instead Meghan of being mean to Sean. Not that it's Julie's fault. I just hate Julie and like it when people are mean to her. Meghan says that Noel is freaking out and calling all the time. Elena asks if Ben really busted Felicity out. Ben says that Felicity didn't need to be in the loony bin. Meghan says that she could have told Ben that, and did. Julie asks if Felicity wants food or drink, and Elena asks if she wants to lie down. Ben asks if everyone could give him and Felicity a minute, and they walk off. Meghan gloats to Julie that Ben is a sucker for a damsel in distress. Julie purses her lips.
Ben and Felicity sit on Felicity's bed. Ben says that everyone is just excited to see her. Felicity knows. Ben tells her that she does look good, and Felicity laughs. They look at each other for a minute, and then start making out. Woohoo! There's a knock at the door. Elena walks in with the phone and says that it's Noel. Ben thinks he should be the one to talk to Noel. Elena hands Felicity a plate of cookies or something. Noel asks Ben what he's doing, and points out that just because Ben had one summer of EMT training, he's not a doctor. We see that Noel is in his office. Ben tells Noel to calm down because it was the right thing to do. Noel says that the hospital wants Ben to bring Felicity back. Ben won't. Noel wants to talk to Felicity, but Ben won't let him. Felicity says that she wants to talk to him, so Ben hands over the phone. Noel says that he doesn't think this sounds like a good idea. Felicity says that she doesn't need to be in the loony bin. Noel just wants to make sure that she's okay. Felicity assures him that she's fine. A kid walks into Noel's office and says that he doesn't want to interrupt, but.... Noel tells the kid to give him a minute. Noel notices people running down the hallway outside his office, and an alarm goes off. He tells Felicity that he'll call her back, and hangs up.
Felicity tells Ben that Noel thinks she's crazy. Ben says that Noel is just worried about her. Felicity says that she has to go back. Ben asks, "To the hospital?" Felicity answers, "No, to the future. I can't stay here anymore. I mean, I'm in this world where everyone thinks I'm out of my mind." Ben reminds her that he doesn't think that. Felicity insists that she needs to go back. Ben asks why she can't just stay there, and points out that they can do senior year all over again. Felicity looks down. Ben says, "Maybe...maybe you didn't come back for Noel. Maybe you came back for us." Felicity stares at his mouth. Can you blame her?
Julie stands on the street, studying a map. Ben runs up and says he was wondering where she was. Julie explains that she went to get the car. Julie has her hair in pigtails, which usually makes people look younger, but for some reason makes her look about ten years older. Julie says that she wanted to find Ben to say goodbye, because she's leaving. She explains that one of her girlfriends is going to meet her in Nashville, and that Ben should stay with Felicity, because Felicity needs him. Ben smiles. Julie adds that Ben wouldn't appreciate Dollywood, either. Ben asks her to send him a postcard, and Julie says that it was good to see him. Ben hugs her, and she leaves. Then there's a really unnecessary shot of Julie starting the car and pumping her fist for joy, and then Ben waves goodbye. Thank God. I was kind of nervous that Ben would end up with Julie for a minute. Not really.
Meghan is on the phone trying to cancel an order for some earrings from her imaginary boyfriend. Javier enters and asks if Elena's there; Meghan points him in the right direction. Meghan explains to the customer service person that she is both the sender and the recipient of the earrings, even though the card says "Paul Korsakoff," a name she made up. The customer-service lady tells Meghan that Paul Korsakoff has an account there, and Meghan asks for the spelling.
Javier hands Elena his elementary-school Spanish book, and tells her to ignore the love poems to his teacher, SeƱor Carlos. Elena chuckles, and leafs through the book. Javier tells Elena that he was fired from Dean & Deluca. Elena says that the polygraph tests aren't always accurate, but Javier explains that he was fired for getting a manicure, and being negligent. Javier thinks that he's been negligent toward everyone, and now he has "no job, no Samuel, and misery is [his] only friend." Elena hugs Javier and promises that he still has her. Javier asks if she really forgives him. Elena says that she does, as long as he helps her with her Spanish test.
Felicity and Ben study. Felicity asks Ben if he thinks that Noel is avoiding her, since it's late and he hasn't come by or called. Felicity decides to check her voicemail. Ben asks if Felicity is sure that he passes his classes, because he does not understand any of the material. Felicity scoffs and says that her dad called again, and adds that now that she's pre-med, her dad has her on speed dial. Ben asks if she wants something to eat, but Felicity doesn't. Ben leaves to get something. Felicity listens to the message, and her face just falls. You know, "falls" doesn't even do it justice. She looks horrified, terrified, and a couple of other -fieds as well. She presses some buttons to relisten to the message, and then jots down a number. She dials the number and asks for Officer Trilling. She's patched through and gives her name. She turns her back to the camera as she listens, and when we see her face again, she asks, "I'm sorry. What?" She listens, and then starts crying. Ben walks back in and offers her some chips. He sees her face and stops, asking what happened. Felicity hangs up the phone and says, "Noel's dead." Ben asks, "What?" Felicity explains that she talked to the police, and that there was a fire in the administration building, "just like before, except this time he died." Ben asks if they're sure it's Noel. Felicity tearily says that they want her to go pick up some of Noel's personal items. Ben crosses the room and hugs Felicity. Over his shoulder, Felicity looks distraught. The camera pulls out as Felicity clings to Ben.
