Future Shock

Previously on Felicity: at his new job, Noel played tonsil hockey with the daughter of the boss, a woman named Zoe Webb, and was summarily fired. Felicity went out with Sean "Owen" Hatosy. Lauren begged Ben to give her one night of hot loving, and who can blame her, really?

Sean, Noel, Ben, and Felicity are sitting around in the loft. Sean urges Noel to ask out their upstairs neighbor, Joanna. Noel doesn't think that Joanna was hitting on him. I guess we're supposed to realize that some time has passed since last we saw this crew, since everyone seems to be getting along just fine and Noel hasn't moved out of the loft or anything. Noel gets tired of the teasing and announces that he's going to do some work, since he and Sean are "pitching this huge account tomorrow." Felicity suggests that Noel ask Joanna out to celebrate getting this huge account. You'd think it would be weird to have Felicity discussing Noel's love life in front of Ben, but again, time has passed. I guess. Noel says he can't do that, because he's "getting [his] ducks in a row," and getting his life back in order. There is a knock at the door, and Sean jokes that it must be Joanna. Noel answers the door, and finds Lauren standing outside. Well, Noel doesn't know Lauren, so he just thinks it's some lady. Lauren asks to see Ben, and he walks over to the doorway to see what's going on. She wants to talk to him, but looks around at all of the people in the loft and suggests that it might be a bad time. Ben suggests that they step outside, which they do. Ben closes the door behind him.

Once they are in the hall, Ben asks what is going on, and if something is wrong with his dad. Lauren hesitates, and then announces that she is pregnant, and that she thinks it's Ben's baby. Ben repeats, stunned, "You think it's mine?" Lauren says definitively that it is definitely Ben's baby. Ben looks like he's about to throw up. Lauren says that she knows it's a big shock. Ben takes a deep breath and asks if she's going to keep the baby. Lauren says that she is, but that she's not asking Ben to do anything; she just thought he should know. Ben is speechless. Lauren tells him to call her if he wants to, and bails. Ben stands there, stunned, and then tries to recover before going back into the loft. When he walks in, Felicity turns her head to look at him, trying to figure out what all that was about, but no words are exchanged.

Hey! Felicity is making a tape to Sally, and she's sitting on the bed in her room, but there is sunlight coming in the windows. Usually she's in shadow while making her tapes. But we haven't seen a tape to Sally since the first episode of this season. I don't know why I got so excited about that. It's clearly a device to fill us in on what has happened since the show went on hiatus. Hey, the show is ending here; I have to get my kicks where I can. Also, I feel that I should report that Felicity is wearing her hair straightened, and it looks really cute, but given what we know about the natural texture of Keri Russell's hair (i.e. hella curly), I imagine it must take a long time to blow it out. But it does make it look a lot longer, and it makes her look older. Anyway, Felicity tells Sally that it was the beginning of the second semester, and that it really bothered her that everybody else seemed to know what they were going to do after graduation, and she has no clue. As Felicity voice-overs that Owen asked if she wanted to go to some galleries to show her work, we see Felicity walking in slow-motion down a city street, and then being met by Owen. Felicity voice-overs that they started in Chelsea, because "apparently, that's where all young artists go in New York to face rejection."

Felicity and Owen walk down the street. Felicity complains that the woman behind the counter was too busy reading InStyle magazine to look at their slides. Hey, when a new issue of InStyle arrives, I know I put everything else on hold. Owen agrees with me. Owen says that it took Cezanne years before people would even look at his work. Remember that quote; it comes up a few more times in this episode. That doesn't make Felicity feel any better until Owen points out that he just compared her to one of the greatest painters of all time. Owen suggests that they take a break for something to eat. I think I could hang out with Owen. He understands the importance of fluffy magazines and snack breaks. He's my kind of guy.

Ben and Trevor are in a lab with Professor Snark, who asks to see them after class. Ben gets an "oh, shit" look on his face and sighs deeply. Trevor continues the conversation they were having before being interrupted by the professor by saying that he didn't even know that Ben and Lauren hooked up. Ben doesn't want to talk about it. Trevor points out that Ben doesn't even know for sure that the baby is his. Because you know us women; we're always trying to trap men into...actually, Lauren didn't ask Ben for financial or emotional support, so I don't know what Trevor thinks her motivation for lying would be.

Ben and Trevor talk to Professor Snark after class. Trevor asks if it's a particular lab, but Professor Snark says that it is not. Prof. Snark explains that he wants Ben and Trevor to be his research assistants on a study for publication. Trevor asks if their names would be on the publication and Prof. Snark says that they would. Trevor thinks that this will look great on their med-school applications. Way to think of only yourself there, Trevor. I still don't like this guy. Prof. Snark tries to impress upon them the importance of this research by explaining that they can't make any mistakes. The boys understand. Prof. Snark gives them both some papers and tells them to come to the lab at 8 PM, then exits. Trevor is excited.

Sean and Noel sit in a lobby, waiting to give their big pitch. They argue over whether they should use "revitalize" or "reenergize." I vote for "revitalize" -- "reenergize" makes it sound like the company is tired. Noel agrees with me. Sean sighs and talks about how nervous he is, and how he is sweaty. Thankfully, Zoe Webb walks into the room and says hello to Noel before we can hear more about Sean's glandular issues. Noel stands and says that he's there to pitch the CGG account. Zoe is there for the same reason. Zoe says that she's been thinking about Noel, who says that he's started his own firm. Zoe talks a lot like Ruby, so I guess it makes sense that Noel is attracted to her. Zoe wishes Noel luck and walks off with her father and co-workers. Noel sits back down and explains to Sean who Zoe is. Noel is discouraged, because he doesn't think that he and Sean can get the account if they are competing against Webb Graphics. Sean is more interested in how cute Zoe is. Noel says that it could never work with Zoe, and points out the dirty look her father just gave him. Sean says that he noticed the dirty (in a different way) look that Zoe just gave Noel. Noel reiterates that he's trying to get his "ducks in a row." Sean relents, but not before stating that Zoe is "incredible." Down, Sean! Don't you have a wife at home?

Speaking of Sean's wife, Meghan is standing at the front of a classroom, trying to bribe her professor into letting her out of class. The professor isn't having it. Meghan does not want to take this acting class, but she needs it to graduate. As she is pleading her case, Javier walks in behind her. Javier is excited because Meghan can be his new scene partner, playing the role of Margo Channing in All About Eve. I'm just going to confess right now that I've never seen that movie, although I am familiar with it due to the "Fasten your seatbelts; it's going to be a bumpy night" line. Meghan comments that All About Eve sounds like a porno, and Javier tells her to bite her tongue and that this will be "the role of a lifetime." Meghan sighs. The professor indicates that she should take a seat.

Ben sits in the loft, staring into space. Felicity arrives home. Ben asks how it went, and Felicity sarcastically says that the waitress at the pizza place thinks she has a lot of talent. Ben pulls her onto his lap. For the rest of this scene, I was totally distracted by the way Ben was rubbing her stomach for two reasons. One, it made it look like Felicity was pregnant, so maybe that was an actorly choice to let us know what Ben was really thinking about. Two, he was coming really close to touching her boob, and I was fascinated to see if he would, and wondering how Keri Russell could keep delivering her lines. Anyway, Felicity repeats Owen's line that it took years before anyone would look at Cezanne's paintings. Felicity notices Ben's expression and asks what's wrong. Ben says that he just has a lot going on, and he doesn't think he can have dinner with Felicity and her mother. Felicity quickly accepts this. Ben tells her that Prof. Snark asked him to be a research assistant. Felicity is impressed. Ben confesses that he doesn't understand much about the experiment other than that he needs to check it every twelve hours. He apologizes for not going to dinner because he knows that Felicity doesn't like being alone with her parents. Felicity says that it's fine, because it's just her mom, and she's kind of looking forward to having some mother/daughter alone time. Felicity again exclaims how great Ben's new job is, and adds, "Things are really coming together for you." Ben sadly agrees.

Sean invites Noel to dinner with him and Meghan. Noel declines. Sean points out that if Noel doesn't leave the apartment, he won't ever meet anyone, and takes off. He's such a yenta. Noel takes his TV dinner out of the microwave and sits down at the table. It's still completely frozen. He puts down his fork, and thinks for a moment, and then picks up the phone and calls Information to get Zoe's number.

At dinner, Mrs. Porter looks at Felicity's slides without comment. Felicity quickly says that you can't really tell much from the slides, but Mrs. Porter says without much enthusiasm that the slides are "terrific." Felicity's hair situation has changed slightly -- she now has a single small braid in the front of her hair, which is very Fast Times at Ridgemont High and makes her look about twelve years old. Which may have been done purposely, to indicate how it makes her feel to be around her mother. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it. Mrs. Porter asks about the process of taking her slides around. Felicity explains that most galleries won't even look at new artists' work. Mrs. Porter sympathetically says that it must be discouraging. Felicity agrees that it is, especially when she thinks that this is how she wants to support herself. I have two words for Felicity: day job. Just about every struggling artist needs a day job, especially in the beginning. Mrs. Porter points out that Mr. Porter is worried about that, too. Felicity looks upset at that comment and then trots out her Cezanne example. All Mrs. Porter has to say to that is, "I love Cezanne!" Felicity switches tracks by asking how things are with Mrs. Porter at home. Mrs. Porter says that she's studying to get her real estate license. Felicity is surprised, since this is the first she's heard of it. She pauses, and then asks Mrs. Porter about her writing. Mrs. Porter quickly says that her writing wasn't anything big. Felicity insists that it was, and that Mrs. Porter was really excited about it. Mrs. Porter says that it wasn't very realistic to think that she could do it as a career, and then adds that maybe Felicity should think about it. Felicity asks what she means. Mrs. Porter extols the virtues of a real estate career, including the fact that they could do it together. Felicity is incredulous. Mrs. Porter gives Felicity a card with a phone number of someone that Felicity could call to get set up. Felicity insists that she's not going to be a real estate agent, because she's doing art, as if the two are mutually exclusive. I can tell that I'm old, because I'm understanding Mrs. Porter's position much more than Felicity's in this scenario. Although I can sympathize with Felicity a bit, since my dad still asks me when I'm going to get a "real job," i.e. one with benefits and a pension plan.

Ben knocks on Lauren's door. She invites him in, but Ben prefers to stand in the hallway. Ben says he's not convinced that the baby is his. Lauren invites him in again; when he refuses, she says that she knows this is hard. Ben interrupts to say that they can do a paternity test, and he thinks they should. Lauren agrees, and Ben says that he'll set it up. Lauren agrees, and Ben flees.

Meghan and Javier sit on the couch, watching All About Eve. Javier is gleeful, and Meghan looks pissed. After one particularly bitchy speech by Bette Davis as Margo, Meghan decides that she has had enough and turns the tape off. Javier points out that Margo was "just about to talk about the bumpy night!" Meghan can't believe that Javier thinks she is as mean as Margo. Javier points outs that Margo is "always so mean, always yelling at everyone." Meghan starts to stalk off, and then turns to say that Javier is nothing like the guy in the movie, because the guy in the movie can actually act. Javier uses this as evidence that Meghan is as mean as Margo. Meghan keeps denigrating Javier's acting abilities and denying that she is like Margo, but Javier isn't having it. Finally, Meghan declares that she would rather be Margo than "some unemployed actor working at Dean & Deluca for the rest of his life." She stalks off, and Javier frustratedly searches and searches for a comeback, before finally screaming out, "Bumpy night!"

Zoe Webb and Noel are at a bar. Zoe says that she hasn't ever apologized for getting Noel fired. Noel says that he was in a bad place then, and Zoe says that she was, too ["obviously, if she would put her mouth on Noel" -- Wing Chun], and that it seems like a long time ago now. Noel says that Mr. Webb doesn't seem to have forgotten it yet. Zoe says that her dad wants the job, and Noel is the competition. Zoe says that she's glad that Noel called. Noel is glad, too. Smile smile. Whatever.

Ben gets blood taken at a clinic for his paternity test. He stares straight ahead as if he can't believe this is happening to him.

Cut to Ben and Trevor working on a lab. I don't know if they are doing classwork or research for Prof. Snark. Trevor asks whether Ben got the results of the paternity test yet. Ben is shaken out of his reverie and says that he has not. Ben reaches for a beaker to add some nitric acid to a test tube, but Trevor stops him, since they already added the nitric acid earlier. Ben apologizes. Trevor is sure that the baby won't be Ben's. I don't know how Trevor is so sure -- unless he slept with Lauren, too, and the baby is his! Wouldn't that be a great plot twist? And then they could both just fuck off together and we wouldn't have to deal with either of them anymore.

Felicity and Owen return home from another day of gallery-hopping. Felicity thinks the process is depressing. Owen makes a joke, and Felicity asks what happens if they don't sell anything, and wonders how they will make a living. Owen is sure that things will work out. Felicity asks whether it bothers him that everyone else has a career path, like doctor, lawyer, or real estate agent. Owen says that all the doctors and lawyers he knows hate their jobs, and that the prospect of being a real estate agent is depressing. Hey, I just saw my real estate agent's new house, and it was really nice and not at all depressing, and neither was her car or her expensive furniture. I'm just saying. Felicity admits that her mother wants her to be a real estate agent. Owen thinks that Mrs. Porter must not have seen Felicity's work. Felicity says that she has. Owen says that Mrs. Porter doesn't know what she's talking about. Felicity feels like she should be doing something "with a clear path that's well-marked." Owen says it depends on what she wants. Felicity says she doesn't really know what she wants. Join the club.

Felicity comes home. Javier is there, and he needs to show her something. He plays the tape of All About Eve and asks who Felicity is reminded of when she sees Bette Davis. Felicity doesn't know. Javier gives the hint, "Freshman year roommate." Felicity asks, "Meghan?" and Javier is all, "See! That's what I thought, too!" Elena runs in, all excited because she got a letter from Columbia Medical School, but she's too nervous to open it. Javier does the honors. While he's opening, Elena says that if she didn't get in, it'll be okay, because she'll probably get in somewhere else. Javier jokingly pretends that he's presenting an Oscar, and then reads the actual letter, which reveals that Elena was accepted. Elena and Felicity hug, and Elena runs off to call her father. Javier trails after her, trying to get her to say that Meghan is like Margo. Felicity looks after them, happy for her friend, but sad that she doesn't have a well-marked path. She walks into her bedroom, fishes out the business card her mother gave her, and stares at it.

Noel walks into the loft, and Sean announces that they got the job they bid on earlier. Noel is shocked. Sean says that it gets better: Webb Graphics also wants them. Mr. Webb wants the job so badly that they are willing to hire Noel and Sean as independent contractors. Sean thinks it will be a great opportunity to get experience and also steal all of Webb Graphics' accounts. Noel doesn't know if it's such a great idea. ["Probably because when you sign on to a company where they're selling your creative work, they make you sign something that says you can't work for any of their clients for a period of time after you leave the company, so Sean's plan of stealing Webb's clients is not realistic. Plus what does Webb want Sean for? He brings nothing to the table." -- Wing Chun] Sean shows Noel the financial reasons why they need to do it. Noel says that he went out with Zoe Webb last night. Sean reminds Noel of the "ducks in a row" thing. Noel says, "I have spent the last three and a half years of my life waiting for someone who wanted to be with someone else. And now, I think...I think that I found someone. Someone that I can care about." Sean says that Noel is right. Noel says he needs some time to think about it. Sean says that Noel gets to make the decision, and Noel thanks him. I can't believe how understanding Sean is being. So different from how he was acting earlier this season.

Felicity leaves a message for Tom Harris, the real estate guy that her mother mentioned. She hangs up and throws the phone down on the bed with a sigh, thinking. Suddenly, she stands up, grabs her portfolio, and races out the door.

Ben goes to the clinic to get the results of his paternity test. He's trying to be discreet, but the woman behind the counter practically yells out, "Oh, yeah, you want to find out if you're the baby daddy!" Anyway, she tells Ben that he is the father. Ben looks at the paper with the results on it for a minute, then folds it up and walks out.

Felicity walks into a gallery. She pulls out her slides and approaches the woman at the reception desk. Felicity gets the woman to look up and then introduces herself and asks if the woman will look at her slides. Before Felicity can finish her sentence, the woman coldly says that they aren't looking at new artists right now. Felicity persists, but the woman says that they just aren't interested and starts to walk away. Felicity yells at the woman to wait, then apologizes and desperately says that she's been to at least fifty galleries, and that none of them would look at her slides. The woman relents, and Felicity falls all over herself thanking the woman. The woman walks over to a light table and checks out exactly one slide before putting the slides away and handing them back to Felicity with a "thank you." Felicity realizes that they still aren't interested. Felicity thanks the woman for her time and walks out. That was kind of cool. On Dawson's Creek, Joey would have charmed the woman into looking at her slides, and then the woman would have offered her a million thousand dollars for just one Joey Potter original.

In acting class, Javier and Meghan are chosen to do their scene. They clearly are still fighting, as they glare at each other while walking to the front. However, this anger lends authenticity to their scene, and Javier, in particular, does an amazing job. The class applauds and hoots.

Ben knocks on Lauren's door. She lets him in. Ben walks in and says that it's crazy that Lauren knew she was pregnant for four months and is only now telling him, so she must want something. Lauren says she thought Ben might want to be a part of the child's life. Ben rolls his eyes and explains that he wants to go to med school, not raise a kid. Lauren says that Ben doesn't have to. Ben says it's crazy to think that he will have a kid out there that he'll never see. Lauren tells Ben that this is happening, and that it's his decision whether to be involved or not, but that she's made her decision already. Ben shakes his head and walks out.

Noel spots Zoe sitting at a table inside Dean & Deluca. He walks in smiling, and Zoe thanks him for meeting her there. Noel says that he had a great time at dinner. Zoe says that things are weird right now. Noel thinks she's talking about her father and the job. Zoe admits that she is "sort of seeing someone." Noel stares, dazed. Zoe says that she wants to be friends. Noel says he's "tried that one before, and it didn't really work out too well." Zoe doesn't know what to say, and neither does Noel.

In the loft, Noel tells Sean that they should take the job with Webb Graphics. Sean asks what happened to Zoe. Noel says that things didn't work out because Zoe has a boyfriend. Sean says that he's sorry, and then asks if it'll be weird for Noel to work at Webb. Noel says that it might be at the beginning, but that it's a great opportunity. Sean agrees.

Ben walks into the classroom. Trevor asks what happened to Ben, because he was supposed to check on the experiment, and Prof. Snark is freaking out. Ben says he'll talk to Snark, and then tells Trevor that he's the father of Lauren's baby. Trevor has no response. Ben walks up to talk to Prof. Snark, who says that Ben should forget it, and that he's already looking for a replacement. Ben tries to apologize, but Snark tells Ben to take a seat. Trevor asks what Snark said, and Ben tells him, and then says that it doesn't matter. Ben grabs his things and walks out.

Felicity is still in a robe, with her hair up, when her mother arrives to go to the play. Mrs. Porter asks where Ben is, because she hasn't seen him while she's been in town. Felicity throws some clothes on and asks if they could not talk about it. Mrs. Porter says that she spoke to Tom Harris and he said that Felicity had called. Felicity says that she doesn't think she's going to do the real estate thing. Mrs. Porter thinks that Felicity would like it, but Felicity says it's just not for her. Mrs. Porter does that mom-type "Okay," where you know it really means, "You are ruining your life but I'm not going to tell you your business." Mrs. Porter says that she's worried about Felicity. Felicity is worried, too, and terrified. Mrs. Porter says that's why she suggested real estate. Felicity asks her mother why she can't just be supportive. Mrs. Porter insists that she is. Felicity gets more upset as she says that she told her mother how scared she was, and that she has no idea how she's going to support herself, and that all her mother said was, "Yeah, that's what Dad thinks." Mrs. Porter just doesn't want to see Felicity's heart get broken. Felicity says, "You know what breaks my heart? You doing this stupid real estate thing. It's like you've given up. It's pathetic. And I don't want to be like that, okay?" Oh. Ouch. Mrs. Porter bites her tongue and says she's sorry that Felicity feels that way. Felicity says that she doesn't want to go to the play anymore. Mrs. Porter looks like she has a million things to say, but instead she grabs her things and walks out.

Ben lies on his bed. Felicity walks in and asks what he's doing. Ben says that he's just thinking. Felicity asks what he's thinking about as she lies down on the bed to him. Ben admits that he screwed up the lab and that Snark is looking for a replacement, and then asks how the play was. Felicity admits that they didn't go because they got in a fight and she "said some really mean things" and "it was awful." Ben strokes Felicity's hair and asks if she wants to talk about it. Felicity doesn't. Ben says that he wants to stay in that bed forever. Felicity smiles and agrees that it would be nice. They snuggle on the bed.

Javier is once again watching All About Eve when Meghan walks in with one hand behind her back. He looks at her, and she thrusts a golden statuette toward him. He grabs it and gleefully exclaims, "It says Best Actor and everything!" Meghan walks over to the refrigerator and Javier apologizes for saying that she's as mean as Margo. Meghan says that Javier is right, and that the whole class agreed with him. Javier replies, "Well, they're not a very smart class." Meghan ignores him and says that she doesn't want to be like Margo, but she is. Javier says that Margo was mean because she was sad, so maybe Meghan is sad about something, too. Meghan doesn't think so. Javier says that someone like Margo would never bring him a trophy. Meghan says that Javier was really good in their scene. Javier suggests that they have a fight before every class, but Meghan doesn't think so. She leaves. Javier waits until she is gone, and then gives his Oscar acceptance speech, which is about the cutest thing I've ever seen. He kisses his trophy and then starts to walk off, but then pretends like someone told him to go the other way. Only Javier would include screwing up his staging in his faux Oscar acceptance speech.

Ben sits on the couch in Lauren's tastefully decorated subletted apartment. Is she still subletting? How long is she staying in New York, exactly? Does she have a job? You know what? I don't really care enough to find out the answers to any of those questions. Ben says that he's been thinking about what she said regarding his choices, and he's decided that he can't be a part of the baby's life because it's already messing up his life. I'd like to point out that at least Ben, as the father, has that choice. Lauren says that she understands, and that he shouldn't feel bad. Ben says that he does, and that he probably will for a long time, but that he doesn't want to raise a kid. Lauren purses her lips.

Owen walks into the studio where Felicity is staring at a painting. He invites her to go out to more galleries, but that she's not up for it. He asks what's going on. Felicity says that she's still thinking about "that career stuff." Owen asks if she wants to hear the good news, which is that she's really talented. Owen assures her that if she wants it to happen, it will. Felicity says that her parents don't think so. Owen says that his parents think he should be an accountant because he's good at math. Felicity wishes that she didn't care what her parents think. She keeps telling herself that she doesn't, but then she sees them, and she cares. Owen points out that they are her parents. Felicity asks if she's still going to care what they think when she's forty. Owen thinks that she will. I think that she will, too. Although I think you start to care a little less. Owen asks Felicity to promise him that, no matter what she decides, she will never do real estate. Felicity promises, as long as he doesn't become an accountant. As much as I love Ben, these two also have a lot of chemistry. I think if the show weren't ending, they could have an interesting relationship.

Professor Snark looks into a microscope. Ben walks in and asks to talk for a minute. Snark gives him a minute. Ben says that he knows that he screwed up, and didn't meet Snark's clear expectations. Ben adds that there was a reason, and that it's taken care of. Snark doesn't say anything. Ben says that he tried to prove last semester how much he cares and how important the schoolwork is to him. Snark says, "Okay. But it better not happen again." Ben promises that it won't. Snark asks if Ben wants to talk about it. Whoa. When did he get all sensitive? Ben doesn't want to, but thanks Snark anyway.

Sean and Noel hang out at Webb Graphics. Sean wonders if they each get an office or if they will have to share an office. Noel thinks that they might be lucky to get a cubicle, and Noel is right, I think. Zoe walks up and gives Noel a big smile. Noel introduces Sean to Zoe. Noel gives Sean a look like, "Get out." Sean gets the hint for once. Zoe says that she broke up with the guy that she was seeing. Mr. Webb appears and calls Noel and Sean over before Noel can give Zoe a response. He does turn and smile at her while he follows Mr. Webb down the hall.

Felicity walks out of her elevator and Ben jumps up from where he was sitting, waiting for her. Felicity is surprised to see him. Ben has to talk to her. They walk into Felicity's apartment. Ben looks very nervous. Felicity asks if this is about Snark. Ben shakes his head. Ben shoves his hands into his pockets, and says that no matter what, he and Felicity will be okay. Felicity starts to get upset and asks what he's talking about. Ben is silent. Felicity begs him to tell her, because she's getting freaked out. Ben takes a deep breath and says, "Lauren's pregnant. It's mine." Felicity looks shocked. Ben tells her that it was one night when they were broken up. Felicity looks like she's trying to decide if she has the right to be angry and asks if Lauren is having the baby. Ben confirms that she is. Felicity blinks back tears. Ben says, "I just need you to know that I love you and this doesn't change that. I need you to know that." Felicity nods and then whispers that she doesn't know what to say. Ben apologizes again and hugs her. Felicity looks over his shoulder, anger and fear and sadness and about a million other emotions showing in her face.

time: Felicity tells Noel that everything is changing. Ben tells Felicity that it feels like she is avoiding him. Felicity says that she doesn't know if he will be able to live with his choice. Oh, dear.
