A nurse locks a door on a mental ward. It's like the Romanian mental ward that Sydney was stuck in that one time onAlias, all dirty and dark. One crazy guy starts sawing through the bars on his window. While looking out the window, he sees a bunch of breeding cult people doing some sort of ritual. They spot some meteor showers in the sky. They all raise their hands in the air and wave them like they just don't care. The crazy guy laughs and tells his roommate (who is in a straitjacket with a gag in his mouth) that it's ironic that they are termed crazy when the breeding cult people are apparently worshipping stars in the sky. A priestess lifts a big snake out of a box and chants something. Crazy Guy gets the bars off the windows and bids his roommate goodbye. He shimmies down the wall. Meanwhile, the breeding cult members are chanting and passing the snake around. Crazy Guy disguises himself in a brown hooded robe and makes off with the snake.
Cut to White, standing on a roof and watching the meteor showers while chanting the same thing as the breeding cult members. Otto comes out and reminds White that he has a meeting with the chief of police to discuss "jurisdictional issues." White asks Otto, "Is it just me, or was this job more fun when we were covert, hunting transgenics all on our own?" Otto tells White he should probably go to bed. White doesn't want to miss the meteor showers. Otto didn't know White was into astronomy. White says there are lots of things Otto doesn't know about him. They both say goodnight.
Over at Terminal City, Max walks in. She gives Joshua Sandeman's medallion, which Logan managed to rescue from his apartment before it was trashed. Well, wasn't that lucky? Joshua says that his father told him that the symbol was two snakes twined together. Dix comes over and says that it's a caduceus, which was on the staff of Hermes, messenger of the gods. It's also an ancient Babylonian symbol of fertility. Max says that it's the same symbol that White's breeding cult uses, and she wonders if Sandeman was involved somehow. Joshua doesn't want to hear it, because he knows that his father was a good guy. Max isn't convinced. Runty says that the guy who started Manticore was "one strange dude," because they're all so weird looking. Some voices on the police radio break up the conversation; there's a transgenic on the loose, and White's men are on their way. Max takes off.
At Jam Pony HQ, Alec talks to some guy about past missions, so the guy is clearly a transgenic, and he must be an X-series, because he looks human. We find out later that his name is Biggs, so I'm just going to call him that now. They reminisce about some lady named Lola. Alec gets a call about the transgenic on the run, and he and Biggs take off to help Max.
Max zooms up to a border crossing on her motorcycle. She meets up with Alec and Biggs, who are also on motorcycles. Max asks Alec if he's ready, and Alec says he's always ready. A thousand forum posters just swooned. The three of them approach the border and show their Jam Pony badges. The cops let them through. The Dark Angel theme song extended remix starts playing, so I think the credits are about to begin, but apparently, they're just hyping the new soundtrack CD. White and Otto drive down the street. A transgenic appears, and right behind him is a cop car. Police cars quickly surround the transgenic, and just then, Alec comes in on his motorcycle, grabbing a pipe to use as a jousting device to knock down the cops. It would be very exciting, except that they should have shown it in slow motion, because Alec is clearly going about two miles per hour during the stunt. Biggs is "helping," I guess, but he just seems to ride around on his motorcycle aimlessly. Once the cops are taken out, Max roars up, and the transgenic hops on the back of her bike. Alec shoots out the tires on the cop cars. Biggs narrowly avoids getting hit by White. Max takes off, and White tries to shoot at her, but she knocks him down. White and Otto shoot after her as she takes off. I've said this before, but for someone with supernatural powers or whatever, White is a terrible shot. Max gets away. White gets mad and throws his gun, and then just starts knocking down cops. Heh. He's such a little man, and it's funny to me to see him knocking people down.
Max, Alec, Biggs, and the other transgenic all arrive at Terminal City. The resident transgenics run up and congratulate Max and the others for their rescue, and welcome the new guy to Terminal City.
At Jam Pony HQ, Alec grabs a soda and walks over to see what Normal is doing. Normal is making flyers for the "Coalition for a Transgenic-Free Seattle." Normal says that the transgenics are getting organized, so the non-transgenics need to do that too. Alec agrees. Normal says he's most worried about the X-series, because "they look just like you and me." Biggs roars into the building on his motorcycle, and Normal yells at him not to ride his bike inside. Alec says that Biggs has already done three runs that day, and that Alec's idea to put the messengers on motorcycles has upped their efficiency. Also, Alec clearly recommended Biggs for the job. Normal tells them again not to ride their bikes indoors. Two more new messengers, a man and a woman, walk in, and Alec asks Normal for their sector passes. Normal hands them over, and Alec dishes them out.
As they walk away, OC passes by them. She comments to Max that the female is "one fine transgenic sister." So, the upshot is that Max and Alec are getting all of the X-series transgenics they find hired at Jam Pony. Max sees Normal handing out his flyers and denigrating the transgenics. OC calls out to him and asks how they know that Normal isn't a transgenic playing a game so that no one suspects him. Normal laughs it off. Max says that Normal is calling for vigilance while Jam Pony is "home to the transgenic underground."
Biggs brings his motorcycle into Terminal City, and Runty promises to visit. An alarm or something goes off, and Runty goes over to the computer, where they have a video hookup with Logan. Once the equipment gets adjusted, Joshua asks Logan how the "new digs" are. Logan is staying at The Dreaming. Joshua asks if Logan needs anything. Logan says that he talked to Eyes Only, who wants to get back on the air. Runty says that Eyes Only's cable hacks are pretty sophisticated. Logan says getting on the air isn't the hard part; it's avoiding being traced. Runty asks what they need, and Logan lists off some equipment. Runty promises to look around, because the "ordinaries" left a lot of good stuff behind when they abandoned Terminal City. Well, at least they explained where all the equipment came from. Max arrives, and Joshua calls her over, saying that Logan is "on TV." Max approaches cautiously and smiles when she sees Logan's face. They have a fairly trifling conversation. Logan asks if Alec is there, and Max says that he is. Max says goodbye sadly, and Logan disconnects.
Max and Alec search a building in Terminal City, looking for equipment for Logan. Alec wants to stop looking, because he doesn't think they'll find anything useful. Max finds something, and Alec asks if they can leave. Max sees a sign that says, "Advanced Recombinant Genetics," but she doesn't notice the caduceus symbol on the sign, or at least she doesn't comment on it. Alec asks how things are with Max and Logan, and Max is silent. Alec says that he was just trying to make conversation, and Max should try it sometime. Max says that it's over, and she already told him about it. Alec wonders why Logan was asking about him, and Max says that they were just making conversation. Alec opens up a container and finds a snake, which finally convinces Max that they can leave. Max wonders what's up with all the snakes, and "it's like Ames White and his familiars are following [her] around." Alec comments that "Ames White and the Familiars" sounds like a rock band. Heh. After they leave, Crazy Guy walks into the room and checks on his snake (the one he stole from the breeding cult ceremony). Crazy Guy wonders how Max and Alec knew about the breeding cult, and then starts dancing around the room with the snake. Because he's crazy.
Otto shows White a thermal imaging unit. White wonders why he should care about this. Otto snaps his fingers, and two goons manhandle an X-series in. White still doesn't get it. Otto points out that the X-series shows up as whiter on the imaging unit; X-series transgenics have a higher body temperature than humans. Otto explains that they could scan crowds with the unit and pick out transgenics. White is happy, and orders Otto to requisition as many units as he can. White's phone rings, and he answers it to hear that "he's escaped." The Priestess on the other end explains that Crazy Guy escaped during the ceremony, and that they'll find him. White says they had better, because he knows too much.
At Terminal City, the new transgenic, who is apparently from the Arctic Division, is too hot. The leader, who is apparently from the Desert Division, is sitting to a space heater. They argue about which is more difficult, the heat or the snow. Runty tries to lighten things up, and fails. Max and Alec walk in and say that they need to get the equipment to Logan right away. Alec offers to take it over, but Max quickly shoots him down, saying that she'll get Biggs to do it when he arrives. Alec doesn't understand why Max won't let him do it. Max finally admits to telling Logan that she and Alec are a couple. Alec asks why she has to drag him into it, and Max says that it was the only way to push Logan away. Alec says that of course she blamed him, because he's "just the kind of guy to steal another guy's girl." Max asks him not to be mad. Alec says that he has nothing to do with her relationship with Logan, and he's not going to be the bad guy. He grabs the equipment and takes off.
At The Dreaming, Logan tries out some new leg braces. This set apparently has pneumatic pumps or something, because he can jump really high in the air. Then he uses his foot to split a piece of wood for the fire. Alec walks in and says that he thought Logan didn't need the braces to walk anymore. Logan says that he doesn't. Alec asks if they are "an enhancer," and Logan says they are, and then asks why Alec is there. Alec says he brought some equipment. Logan is very short with him. Alec brings up his relationship with Max. Logan knows about it, and doesn't really want to hear it. Alec says that Logan has it all wrong. Logan says that he and Max have been through some rough times, but he never gave up, and thought they would get through it, but now he thinks he's been selfish, because maybe Max should be with another transgenic who can understand what she is going through. He adds that it never mattered to him what Max was or where she was from. Then Logan asks Alec to treat Max right. Alec walks out.
At Crash, OC tells Max that Logan was bound to find out the truth about her "relationship" with Alec sooner or later. Alec walks up and OC walks off, ordering Alec not to make Max feel any worse. Alec sits down. Max asks if he's going to tell her what happened. Alec reveals that he didn't say anything. Max thanks him and asks why he changed his mind. Alec says that she had to say something, only she didn't push Logan away; he let go because he wanted Max to be happy. Max looks sad. Alec tells her not to start crying, because Logan told him to take care of her. Alec notices some new marks on Max's wrist and asks about them. Max hadn't noticed them before. They both watch Max's wrist as the marks seem to get darker and more prominent.
Max shows Logan the new marks over the computer. Logan doesn't know what's going on either, but asks if Max came into contact with anything or drank anything different. Max snarks that she drank a bottle of something called "Tattoos From Within." Sarcasm isn't going to help the matter any, young lady. Max apologizes and says that it's freaking her out. Logan points out that they look a bit like the symbols on Joshua's medallion, and theorizes that they are a "genetically encoded imprint designed to appear on [her] skin at a given time." Max wonders, "What for and why now?" Logan doesn't know, but suggests that it might be a message. Max asks, "From who?" Joshua supplies, "Father."
Biggs and Alec make small talk about how Logan will figure out what's going on with Max. Alec's phone rings, and while he talks to Normal, Biggs watches some anti-transgenic guys trolling for donations in front of the Light of Life Mission. Alec finishes his call and announces that he has to go make a pick-up, so he and Biggs say goodbye and mount their motorcycles. For two undercover transgenics, Alec and Biggs are wearing awfully revealing collars. Perhaps they just lasered their barcodes off recently.
At Goon HQ, they have a bunch of thermal imaging monitors set up. Otto walks over and asks Aryan Goon if he's found anything yet; Aryan Goon hasn't. Just then, Undercover Goon who is masquerading as a cab driver radios in because he has picked up a transgenic on his equipment. Except he decides that it's "just an old lady with the flu." Biggs roars into the area on his motorcycle, and Undercover Goon picks up on it. Aryan Goon tells him to "stay on it." Biggs walks up to a counter and buys coffee. He notices some nearby cops staring at him, and a guy in a trench coat talking into a mouthpiece. Biggs starts walking out, and sees more cops, so he turns the other way. Otto uses a walkie-talkie to tell the Goons that Biggs has recognized them, and orders all units to converge. Swarm! Swarm! Biggs tries to walk along nonchalantly, but he is soon surrounded. A cop pulls his gun and orders Biggs to freeze. Biggs throws his hot coffee in one goon's face and takes off, super-speeding on out of there while a cadre of cops follows him. Biggs climbs up onto a roof, and the cops lose him. Otto shakes his head in disgust.
Crazy Guy uses a mirror and a marker to draw a fake barcode on the back of his neck. He stuffs the snake in a brown paper sack.
At Terminal City, Max tells Alec that Logan figured out that her symbols are "some branch of an ancient Minoan language." Hey, you know where J-Dawg grew up? Minoa! Shout-out! Okay, not really. I mean, he did grow up in Minoa (NY), but I don't think it's a shout-out. Alec asks if Logan has figured out what it says. Max says he's working on it, but no one has ever figured out the whole alphabet. Alec wonders why Sandeman would encode a message into Max in a language that she can't understand. Joshua suggests that Sandeman was going to teach Max and then had to leave before he got the chance. Alec asks why he wouldn't put the message in plain English. Joshua says that Sandeman probably didn't want anyone else to read it. Why is Joshua, the dude who lived in the basement and had no contact with other humans, so much smarter than Alec, the dude who had all the military training in the world? Alec asks if they're sure that Sandeman was one of the good guys. Joshua points out that he left Manticore. Max asks if Joshua knows why Sandeman left. Joshua doesn't, but he does know that Sandeman left in a hurry.
Runty walks in and interrupts the strategy session. Crazy Guy, who is now going by CJ, accompanies him. Runty introduces CJ as "the newest resident of Terminal City." The leader asks CJ which X-series he belongs to. CJ claims to be "X5-411." Max walks closer and looks at CJ like he's crazy. Because he is. Crazy. CJ realizes that they don't believe him and starts flailing about, pretending to do some sort of martial arts. CJ finishes his demonstration and asks if they saw his blurring. Max didn't, and CJ says it's because he's so fast. CJ realizes that they still don't believe him, so he starts throwing punches at Max, who easily blocks them and then knocks CJ down. Joshua picks CJ up. CJ notices his medallion and asks where Joshua got it. Max asks why he wants to know. CJ looks scared and says, "No reason." Max asks if he's seen the symbol before. CJ, still scared, says no.
Runty calls everyone's attention to the television, where news reports are showing pictures of Biggs and calling him "a dangerous fugitive." While everyone is distracted by the news reports, CJ sneaks out. Alec calls Biggs, who is unaware of the media blitz. Biggs reports that he's near Alec's place, which happens to also be near the Light of Life Mission. Alec tells Biggs sharply to get back to Terminal City. Before Alec can explain, the Anti-Transgenic guys who were collecting donations earlier surround Biggs. Biggs spots his own picture on a nearby television. Not sure why there was a television out on the street, but whatever. While Biggs is distracted by the news reports, the Anti-Transgenic guys start beating him with two-by-fours. Alec realizes that Biggs is in trouble, and he and Max take off.
It's dark by the time Max and Alec arrive at the scene. Way to hurry, guys. People are rushing down the street. Max talks to one guy who is a cross between Jimmy Fallon and Mike Damone from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Jimmy Damone says that a bunch of the neighborhood guys "got a hold of one of those mutants that's been on the news." Max asks what he means, and Jimmy Damone says, "What do you think?" They arrive at the scene, and Biggs is hanging by his feet, dead. Jimmy Damone comments, "That oughta teach them freaks a lesson, huh?" Max and Alec stop and stare in disgust. Well, if they've seen Star Wars, they should have known that Biggs was going to die.
The news reports on Biggs's death, calling his killers "members of a local neighborhood watch group." They move on to a live press conference by Senator McKinley. McKinley says that he doesn't condone vigilantism, but he understands the "fear and anger" that drove the killers to take matters into their own hands. He reminds people that the transgenics are dangerous, so they should let the authorities do their job. Max, Alec, and the other transgenics watch the broadcast from Terminal City. McKinley announces that "a recent technological breakthrough" helped them capture three transgenics, and they anticipate more arrests. A reporter asks where the captive transgenics are being held. McKinley says that information is classified, but he can tell them that the captives will be transported to a secure facility within the day. Wouldn't that information be classified too? Would you really want to admit that the captives are currently in a facility that is not secure? McKinley announces that they are winning the war. This story arc is becoming an awful lot like the X-Men movie. There are, like, five reporters at this press conference. I guess they had to save up their extras budget for the season finale. The reporters continue to yell questions as McKinley leaves the room.
McKinley meets up with White, who comments on the "old-fashioned lynching." McKinley chuckles that he hopes he didn't sound too disapproving. Then McKinley gets serious and changes the subject to CJ, noting that he escaped "during that Katara ceremony." McKinley adds that it could be bad for them, and for White especially. White promises he'll take care of it. McKinley responds, "See that you do!" They give each other the breeding cult version of "aloha" and part ways.
At Terminal City, Max and Alec finish watching the news report. Max asks Alec if he's still in touch with an arms dealer in Koreatown. Alec is, of course. Max says that they're going to need "the nastiest stuff he's got," like grenade launchers, and money is no object. Runty says, "It sort of is, when you don't got any." Alec promises that they'll get some. Dix asks what the plan is. Max says that they're going to White's headquarters to release the transgenics before White ships them off. The leader thinks that sounds good. Max asks Runty where he found "that so-called X-5 [he] brought [there] the other day." Runty met him outside on the street. Max thinks CJ is part of White's breeding cult, and she wants to know why he was there. Runty doesn't know, but he picks up the brown paper bag with the snake in it and says that CJ left it behind. The snake has just been sitting there for a few days and no one noticed? The bag is passed to Max, who opens it and then steps aside with disgust. Alec dumps the snake out of the bag so that we can see it.
Otto and the Goons (now there's a rock band name for you) stomp into Jam Pony HQ and walk up to Normal. Sketchy sees them and hides behind a wall. OC asks him what's going on. Sketchy recognizes Otto as the guy who questioned him after he chased the transgenic in the sewer. Otto holds up a badge and asks Normal if he recognizes it. Normal says that it's a Jam Pony ID badge. Otto and Aryan Goon say that they found it on the body of a transgenic last night, and they want to know how it got there. Normal says that he had no idea Biggs was "one of them," and if he had, Biggs never would have been hired. OC has heard enough. She sneaks into Normal's office and opens a filing cabinet. Sketchy crouches down behind a counter so that he can hear the conversation. Otto asks Normal how many transgenics he employs. Normal says that there are none that he knows of. Otto and Aryan Goon don't believe him. Normal starts yelling about how he hates and loathes transgenics. OC grabs some files out of the cabinet and sneaks out of the room just as Otto and Aryan Goon rush in. Do they think that it's going to say "Transgenic" on the file? I don't know. Normal is all for them looking at his files.
Sketchy sees OC sneaking out of the office with the files and asks what she's doing. OC asks what he means. Sketchy figures out that there are more transgenics, and that OC is trying to protect them. OC denies it, but Sketchy grabs at the files to see what they say. Sketchy asks why she took Max and Alec's files. OC says sharply, "Why do you think?" Sketchy guppies for a minute and then backs away.
At the former Advanced Recombinant Genetics lab, CJ wakes up to find the snake crawling on him. He's happy to see the snake, but not so happy to see Max, who's standing over him. Max asks who he is and why he's in Terminal City. CJ says he's hiding out, just like Max. Max asks why, since he's not a transgenic. CJ doesn't answer, so Max grabs him and threatens him with a slapping around. CJ says that "they" are after him. Max asks who "they" are. CJ says that "they" are the "Familiars," and he doesn't want to go back to "that loony bin of theirs." CJ insists that he's not crazy. Max doesn't buy it. CJ says that they locked him up because of his father, who was "part of it all" until he got out and "turned his back on the whole damn thing." Max asks why his father left the breeding cult. CJ says it's because his father knew that CJ wouldn't survive, and he didn't want CJ to die. Max asks if he's referring to the snake blood initiation thing. CJ asks how she knew about that. Max doesn't answer, asking in turn how his father knew that CJ wouldn't survive. CJ explains that his father was a scientist, and they're sitting in his former lab. His father tested his DNA, which isn't allowed in the breeding cult, because everyone has to be initiated due to "thousands of years of tradition." But CJ"s father said, "Screw tradition," and sent CJ away. Max points out that they eventually caught CJ and locked him up. CJ says that the Familiars are everywhere and whispers, "You never know who's part of it." Max asks what the initiation is for. CJ doesn't know; they don't tell you unless you go through it and survive. He rants that his father wanted to introduce science and technology to the cult, but they said that was heresy. Max asks if CJ's father "got sick of the whole selective breeding thing and decided to get into the gene-splicing game?" CJ says that his father didn't come to the lab "until the government took over." Max asks what he means, and CJ says, "Hello? Manticore?" Max doesn't get it. CJ asks who she thinks made her. Max answers, "Sandeman," and then asks CJ if Sandeman is his father. CJ says, "Haven't you heard a word I've said?" Max asks CJ if Sandeman is alive and if CJ knows where he is. CJ says he might, and wants to know why Max wants to find him. Max says that she has a lot of questions, like why he made the transgenics, why he left, and what's up with the symbols on her arm. She pulls down her sleeve to show CJ, and he recognizes them as ancient Minoan. Max asks if he knows what it says. CJ says that he doesn't read Minoan, but she should ask the person who drew them. Max explains that they just popped up. CJ thinks it's weird. Max thinks they're a message from his father. CJ asks what kind of message. Max says if CJ helps her find him, they can find out. CJ isn't sure about that. Max points out that they're "kind of related," and CJ reconsiders.
Back at Terminal City, Joshua tells Alec that he's sorry about Biggs. Alec says he'd like to "have a little talk" with whoever killed Biggs. Joshua would too. Alec tells Joshua about the guys soliciting donations about the Light of Life Mission, and they decide to go see the guys.
Alec and Joshua walk up to the guys, who are still soliciting donations. Joshua is wearing a motorcycle helmet. The guys ask Alec for a donation, and Alec says that his friend thinks the guys are running a scam. The guy says that Alec must not have seen the news, and admits that they threw Biggs off a bridge. Alec steps up and says that he has a problem with that. Joshua removes his helmet and says that the transgenic was a friend of theirs. Joshua and Alec leap into action and beat the crap out of the three guys. Once they are all lying around on the ground, Alec walks up to the leader and says, "You and your friends need to get out of town tonight. I see you around here again, I'm gonna kill you." Jensen Ackles is so much better than this material. He delivered that line perfectly: understated, with a hint of emotion over the death of Biggs, but also powerfully enough that you believed he could back up the threat. White would have just yelled it at the top of his lungs. Joshua and Alec leave.
CJ and Max wait for Sandeman in an alley somewhere. CJ sets up some stones on the ground, in a mini-Stonehenge. Max asks where Sandeman is. CJ says that he "drives kind of slow." White steps out from behind a garbage can and adds, "Always made our poor mother crazy." Max realizes that she's surrounded by goons with guns. CJ gives White the breeding cult greeting and then adds, "My brother."
Max has her hands bound above her head. She says, "Poor Sandeman. One son's a loon, the other's a psychopath." White tells her to be nice, because they're "practically family." Max isn't happy about that, and neither is White. CJ asks if he did the right thing, and White assures him that he did. CJ asks if White will "send [him] back there to that place." White promises he won't. Then White tells Max that he changed his name. He chose White to symbolize "unsullied, free of [his] father's betrayal and shame." White rips Max's shirt to get a better look at the symbols on her shoulder. CJ asks White what the symbols say. White doesn't answer, so CJ keeps asking and asking. Max demands that White answer the question. White says that it's more of what Sandeman "spouted off about" while he was there, about how "the meek will inherit the earth." White doesn't buy it, because the thinks that "the strong will take what is theirs and crush the meek." White adds, "After our long wait, our time has come." Max asks if she can go. White says that Sandeman wanted to destroy their destiny, "five thousand years of planning." CJ asks how Sandeman was going to destroy their destiny. White answers, "By creating her." CJ realizes that Max is "the one [Sandeman] used to talk about." White says that he needs to ask Max about his son before he kills her. CJ mumbles in the background, "This changes everything." White wants to know if his son is alive. Max gives a few different answers, and White tasers her. White orders Max to answer him. CJ mumbles, "But it's not too late." He picks up the taser and hits White in the chest. White goes down for the count. CJ apologizes and says that if what White said is true, Max is the only chance CJ has. CJ releases Max, who asks why CJ had a change of heart. CJ tells her that time is running out and "it's coming." Aryan Goon knocks on the door and announces that the prisoners are ready for transport. CJ mimics White's voice and says they need five minutes.
The goons load the transgenic prisoners into a paddy wagon. Max and CJ appear. Max asks if CJ is ready. CJ says he's sticking with Max, and she takes that as a yes. Max single-handedly takes out all of the goons. Meanwhile, White comes to in the jail cell. Max slams the truck's door, shutting the prisoners inside. She hops into the driver's seat and calls for CJ, who is busy shooting at goons. CJ hops up on the truck and drops his gun, yelling that "mistakes were made here." White appears with a gun, and tells CJ to move. He doesn't, and White shoots him in the shoulder, knocking him off the truck. White and the other goons open fire on Max. CJ yells at Max to get going. Max drives the truck out the door while the goons chase her ineffectually, and she gets away.
OC and Sketchy sit at a table in Crash. Sketchy asks OC how long she's known that Max was a transgenic. OC answers, "About a year." Sketchy asks why she didn't tell him. OC asks what difference it would have made. Sketchy asks how she can say that, since Max is "one of them." OC points out that Max has been a good friend to him. Sketchy considers this. OC asks if he's going to believe what he hears on television, or what's in his heart, and she adds, "So what if she was made in a lab? She's the best person you know." Sketchy thinks about this, and then admits that OC is right. I'm not buying it. Sketchy is going to turn her in.
Back at Terminal City, the Arctic Brigade transgenic and the leader are having some sort of competition. Max talks to Logan via computer. Logan can't believe that Sandeman was White's father. Max points out that, "in some twisted way, that means he's [her] brother." Logan says that if Sandeman left the cult, that means he's "one of the good guys." Max thinks that CJ is too. Max adds that whatever Sandeman was trying to tell her through the symbols, it freaked White out. Max explains that White "acted like [she] was the second coming, here to foil his big, evil plan." And she doesn't even know what that plan is. In the background, the competition between the Arctic Guy and the leader commences. Arctic Guy is to a heater and the leader is to ice, and they have to see who can last the longest. Alec asks Max if she wants in on the bet, and Max refuses. Logan says that he'll let her get back to the party. Max seems to be about to tell Logan that she's not really going out with Alec, but instead she just ends the conversation by telling him to take care. Logan slams a book onto his desk, because he's a man!
CJ is lying on a bed, wearing a straitjacket. White tells CJ that he's disappointed in him, and that he did "a very bad thing." White says that CJ had a chance to redeem their family, and he "threw it away like garbage." CJ cries through his gag. White looks out the window and sees more meteors. He vows to find Max. He adds, "Now that I know what she is, I have to."
week: Directed by James Cameron! That's almost enough to make me not watch. Anyway, Max and the other transgenics get their war on.
