The show opens with a number by the troupe, which...yawn. And then a quick recap of last night's dances and judging.
And then right to the first results of the night! The first couple going to the semifinals is Ingo and Kym. Whoa. They are shocked. I'm a little bit shocked that they didn't save them for the fake bottom three, since everyone would expect it. And who's in jeopardy? Kellie and Derek. They don't look worried. Well, Kellie does maybe. I think she has tears in her eyes, but she's trying to seem okay and Derek is subtly comforting her.
Tom asks Len which trio routine they want to see again, and Len says that of course they want to see Derek and Kellie. Just kidding. They want to see Val and Zendaya with Gleb. You know what my biggest problem with this routine is? If they really wanted to highlight Zendaya, they should have put her in another color. All three of them are wearing all white. This would have been a lot cooler if she were wearing gold or red or something.
Results! Zendaya and Val got high scores in their first dance and then a perfect score in their second one. Jacoby watched their second dance from the balcony and wondered what he was going to do with that. Val confesses that Zendaya messed up like three times in that routine, but she covered it really well. I guess! Jacoby tells Karina that when he ripped his shirt open, he gave himself a wedgie. Heh. He covered that up well too. He was upset after his second dance, because he wanted his scores to be higher. They should've been.
So which of these two couples is moving on to the semifinals? Zendaya and Val. I mean, of course. Jacoby and Karina are in jeopardy. The audience boos, and Jacoby yells that it "ain't the first time." I'm getting a little worried. Sean and Peta should be going home, but if they don't, we could lose Kellie or Jacoby and that would be a huge shame.
Brooke interviews Kellie and Derek and shows them some footage of what happened after their got the scores from their paso. Basically, Carrie Ann and Bruno harangued Len for his 7, and Carrie Ann accused Len of robbing Kellie of her perfect score. Len claims that Kellie's dance was no better than Sean's, which come on, Len. Let's not get crazy. Brooke tells Derek that Len thought their dance didn't have enough paso content, and Derek disagrees, but mildly, and he and Kellie joke that "everybody likes their coffee different." Derek concludes that he watched it later and he still liked the routine and thought Kellie was amazing.
Jason DeRulo is on hand to perform "The Other Side." Whoa, he's doing a headstand. So he's not singing live. He is a great dancer though. And apparently also a magician since he disappears in once spot and then reappears in another. Or should I say illusionist. He's also really sweaty.
Then there's a clip package where each of the couples begs for the dance type that they would like to be assigned for week. Might have been helpful to see this last night, you know, when people could still vote. Anyway, now we're going to find out which dance each couple gets if they return. Kellie and Derek get flamenco, and they're happy. Ingo and Kym get Charleston, and they're very happy. Zendaya and Val get hip hop. So they're thrilled. Sean and Peta get disco, and they're neutral because Sean sucks at everything. Aly and Mark get Afro jazz, and no one knows what that is. And that means that Jacoby and Karina get lindy hop, which is what they wanted. Jacoby demonstrates what he would have looked like if he'd done Afro jazz. Why is he wearing a cowboy hat? Why are both Mark and Aly wearing fedoras? The fedoras are spreading.
Ingo's son Peanut gets a segment to show us what life is like behind the scenes. Holy shit, he reminds me of one of my kids. Especially the part where he thinks he's scaring people while standing in plain sight.
Brooke interviews some more couples. Aly hopes that she has momentum going into the semifinals. Sean invokes Jesus and ugh.
So they let Derek choreograph this routine with a female dancer and the whole thing takes place inside this giant rotating room. But when we see it, we don't see the rotation happening, so it just looks like they are flying around the room, dancing on the walls and ceilings, etc. It's amazing. I mean, it's so well done and flawless. I loved that. Derek has such a huge future ahead of him as a choreographer. That could have been a music video.
Emeli Sande is apparently a huge deal in the UK but I've never heard of her. I'm sure I've heard some of her songs, though. Anyway, she's singing "to Me" while Cheryl and Dmitri dance. Dmitri! Whatever happened to him?
Sean didn't get great scores last night because he didn't deserve them, if you ask me. Carrie Ann noted that Aly was missing the requisite bounce in the jive, and Mark is kind of a dick to Aly about it. So which of these couples are in jeopardy? It's Sean and Peta, right? It has to be. And it is. Aly and Mark are going to the semifinals.

And now it's time for the final results. Remember, the three couples in jeopardy are Kellie and Derek, Jacoby and Karina, and Sean and Peta. But one of them is going to be declared safe right now, and that couple is Kellie and Derek. Whew. That would have been a real shame.
That means Sean and Peta and Jacoby and Karina are...wait, Brooke just said that they're not necessarily the bottom two. Oh, obviously it was Sean and Ingo in the bottom two, then. Let's make it official. Yep, Sean and Peta are done. Wow, if Jacoby had been eliminated before Sean, I would have started a one-woman riot.
Anyway, Sean is Mr. Bland and his exit speech is predictably bland, but I'm sure he has a decent fanbase. I'm just not part of it. Let's move on to week, get rid of Ingo, and then it will be a real competition.
