Assume Nothing

EEEEEEE! Gil got a beard. He wears it well; it makes him look almost Christlike when he sorrowfully has to contemplate a blundering Nicky. And if the beard is part of post-operative, hearing Gil's new personality -- along with the winking and the sacking out on a fleabag hotel bed because it has Magic Fingers -- then we are all for it. But this episode isn't just about Gil's puckish ways or Nicky's predictable lapses in judgement. It's also about...well, not Sara. She's in all of three scenes. It's about Warrick being given the stupidest line of the night, which he breaks out while trying to comfort Catherine, and it's about Catherine discovering that -- surprise! -- courts tend not to like it when you test your own DNA on a hunch, then try to build a case on its matches against a suspect you also think is your dad. I feel vindicated. And then there's the crime: a serial-killing couple gets their thrills by killing other couples who are into group sex. At the end of the episode, the killer couple also gets killed, which brings us to the end of the first-ever "To Be Continued" episode.
