Question:
Do the Buffy boards have a special spoilers policy?
Answer:
Oh my, yes! Here it is, in all its gloriously minute detail:
- We define spoilers as ANY information about an episode not yet aired in the US/Canada.
- Casting information is a spoiler, so please don't announce how many episodes a certain character is signed for anywhere but in the Spoiler topic.
- Rumors count as spoilers. Rumors ARE spoilers. I can't believe I'm even having to say that, but apparently it's confusing to some people. Also -- think the spoiler you just posted is not a spoiler because it's "common knowledge"? We don't care. It's still a spoiler, and frankly, we don't think you're an accurate judge of "common knowledge."
- Spoilers belong in "The New Spoiler Topic" ONLY. We're not willing to make exceptions. If it's upcoming news about the Willow and Tara relationship -- it goes in the Spoiler topic, not the Willow or Tara topics. If it's a spoiler about an upcoming plot for Spike -- it goes in The New Spoiler topic, not the Spike topic.
- Please, no hinting on the rest of the boards about spoilers. No saying, "Well, I've read the spoilers and this episode isn't what you think," or "I've read the wild feed and..." If you ever find yourself writing, "I don't know if this is a spoiler but..." it's probably best to just erase your post. FINALLY, no Angel spoilers either.
- Speculation is not a spoiler; nor is info about episodes (or previews of episodes) already aired in the US/Canada. The "wild feed" does not count as an airing.
- Sep and Ace will edit out your spoilers, and repeat offenders will get the boot. Ace keeps track of the names of people who have been warned; if they require a second warning, they will be banned from the site. No exceptions.
