Real World TV Show - Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans? - Real World Photos & Videos, Real World Reviews & Real World Recaps | TWoP

Matt, David, and Jamie go to Subway. Jamie says that he wants to be there for David in dealing with his mother's health. David says that although they came at him in "an unorthodox way, that was probably the only way." Jamie says he knows David is "an unbelievable being." David says there are no hard feelings, and they hug. Right in the middle of Subway! Good for them. ["Mmm, Subway." -- Wing Chun] And where's Matt? In an interview, David says he appreciates what he hears and experiences. In an interview, Jamie says you need other people to help you in life. David, Jamie, and Matt are sitting at a table eating. Jamie is lecturing David with some MBA-speak about "leverage" and "network." David is making eye contact! Matt points out that friends help each other out, and makes a "cup of sugar" analogy. I bet he would like to give David some sugar, and then get a cookie from David in return.

Everyone is playing spin-the-bottle in Julie and Kelley's bedroom. Well, not everyone. Julie, Kelley, Jamie, Matt, and David are playing. Danny is observing. All the boys make it clear that they won't kiss other boys. Good thing they cleared that up, because otherwise all of America might think they are gay. God knows if you kiss another boy, that makes you gay. Like the whole point of this isn't to get Matt to kiss Julie, anyway. Matt says he doesn't want to kiss a girl or hold her hand, but the girls convince him to participate. In a confessional, Kelley says she hasn't been around much so she wants to make the most of the rest of her time. Everyone gets into the room and settled. The first spin means that Julie and Jamie have to kiss. We see a flashback of them wrestling in the mud pit, with Melissa observing that it's "getting sexual." Jamie pins Julie to the floor to kiss her. Oh, dear Lord. I like seeing the roommates having a good time and all, but what are they going to do , play Old-Fashioned Tag? Seven Minutes in Heaven? Kelley kisses David. David is holding a pen in his hand like Bob Dole. On one spin, Julie grabs the bottle and points it at herself so that Matt has to kiss her. Matt won't kiss her. Julie chases him over the bed and onto the floor. This is so embarrassing. In an interview, Matt jokes that Julie didn't follow the rules and let the bottle spin. This is so boring. Does anyone care about this? In an interview, Kelley says that Matt is "scared stiff, no pun intended." Matt is hiding in between the bed and the wall. In an interview, Julie says that Matt should want her because she's hot. Matt hires a plane to skywrite, "Julie, I'm not interested" in huge letters. Julie still doesn't get it. We, as always, do.

Julie and Melissa. Outside. Julie still likes Matt. She likes the feeling of having a crush on someone, but she also hates it. Melissa says it's because it gives Matt power. Actually, she says, "That bitch has power." Julie is "still nuts about that kid." In an interview, Julie screams and shrieks and says ultimately it's Matt's loss because she's an amazing person and could give him anything he wanted. Yeah, except Catholic babies. Which is what he really wants.

Airport. Peter and Kelley. They are kissing. In an interview, Kelley says that Peter is going to Indonesia to go surfing for two weeks.

Melissa and Kelley. Kitchen. Melissa voice-overs that with Peter gone, Kelley is thrown back into the house. In an interview, Kelley says that she didn't realize how hard it was to be in the house, and that they don't click. Melissa tells Kelley that they don't hang out, and Kelley's not there, so now they aren't going to be the best of friends. In an interview, Melissa says that Kelley is with Peter "every single day" and that has "tainted the potential of [Kelley and Melissa] having a relationship." Angry music plays. This whole fight is so out of left field. It's like the editors realized that the David confrontation didn't really go anywhere exciting, so they dug through the archives to find another fight, when we have never seen these two have any problems with one another before. Anyway, Kelley thinks that they should be able to have a friendship, and Melissa says that it's too little, too late, and the best they can hope for is to be cordial to one another. In an interview, Melissa says, "None of this candy-coating, none of this sugar." Does anyone else get the feeling that she was talking about David and not Kelley? The scene ends with Kelley saying, "Can I talk now?" Ooh, such a fight. Not.

Back from commercial, Melissa tells Kelley that she needs to acknowledge that she gives off "an abrasive vibe." Kelley sighs and Melissa says she can't take criticism. In a confessional, Kelley says that people in the house feel she is unapproachable and irritable, and that's true. Kelley tells Melissa that she feels fragile inside, but she tries to be strong on the outside. In an interview, Melissa says that she and Kelley are alike in a lot of ways, and have a hard time accepting criticism. Kelley says their problem is not big, and Melissa agrees. They also agree that their problem is that they don't communicate well. Blah bling blah. Who cares? They're leaving! Kelley wants to leave the house on a good note and "move up from cordial." Melissa barely nods. Oh good, that issue is wrapped up in a neat and tidy package. Let's move on and never speak of it again.

Melissa talks to Lionel about her exhibit. She can't believe that people might criticize her artwork. It does seem kind of wrong to walk up to an artist at an exhibit and start telling them everything that's wrong with their work. But, on the other hand, by putting it up (kind of like by being on the show) you are opening yourself up to people's opinions. Lionel tries to calm her worries.

Some guy named Matt drops off an article from Newsweek, about being gay and Mormon, for Julie to read. Apparently, the guy in the article got some support from his community, but overall he couldn't find acceptance, so he killed himself. The Guitar on Religious Intolerance plays as Julie reads the article and then runs inside to the bathroom where she cries and possibly vomits. Wow, thanks for leaving her mike on.

Julie tells Kelley that "the whole story made [her] sick to her stomach." Yeah, we got that from the puking noises a minute ago. In a confessional, Julie says that her "community is very judgmental." Julie says it's okay to be confused and question things. In an interview, Julie says there are things that she's "never wavered from" and there are some things she's "never questioned," but now she does. In case we don't understand, we see her reading her Bible (or whatever the Mormons call it) when she says "never wavered" and we see her reading the Gay Mormon article and talking to Danny during "never questioned." Yeah, because we haven't seen the whole season, so we don't know how Julie feels on the issues. I'm just not going to recap this scene any more. Suffice to say that it goes on with more of "Julie learned something."

David shows up at Melissa's gallery opening. Melissa is surprised. In an interview, Melissa says that she's "not saying everything is smoothed over" but "he took the high road on this one." People are asking her if she's selling prints or the original artwork. Melissa marvels over this to Jamie.

Julie and Melissa discuss summer plans. Melissa is going to L.A., because if she goes back to Tampa, she'll get back into her rut. Melissa suggests that Julie go to L.A. with her. Julie says it would be fun.

Julie is crying on her bed because she's sad to leave. Kelley asks if she's excited to go to L.A. Julie says she's scared, and has a bad feeling. Kelley points out how fun the whole adventure will be, and says she's jealous. And she tosses Julie a roll of toilet paper so she'll stop picking her nose. Well, she was! Julie gets excited about going to L.A. Kelley sounds remarkably insincere in her exhortations. Julie looks at her nails.

In a confessional, Kelley says they're about to walk out the door. Danny says he feels a lot more mature. Julie says she's been tested and able to keep her mind open while standing firm in her beliefs. Matt closes the Belfort door for the last time. They all ride in a van to the airport. No one is talking.

Danny is the first to go. Everyone hugs him. In an interview, Danny says he's excited to go out in the world and put his lessons to use. Julie makes him cry. Danny says he'll miss Kelley the most because he connected with her "on a real level." Danny leaves.

Everyone hugs Matt. Julie pretends she doesn't care that he's leaving. Matt is all Brian Krakow awkward pausing (tm Key Grip). They hug as the music says, "Don't bother leaving me." In an interview, Matt says the experience has "seasoned his character." What is he, a roast chicken? Now Matt and Julie are in the parking garage, and Julie wants a kiss. Matt goes to kiss her but Julie wants the setting to be perfect. She puts on some Céline Dion and hangs up a few posters of unicorns. Julie keeps arguing over the terms of the kiss. Matt finally just kisses her quickly on the lips as Julie tries for more. Matt finally escapes.

David is leaving. Everyone hugs him. In an interview, David says he has changed in terms of what he's learned and "what can be implemented to [him]." It's fitting that David's final words don't make any sense. David leaves.

Peter shows up. How convenient that he was returning on the same day everyone else was leaving. Kelley is all surprised that he's there. Didn't she know when he was arriving? Kelley hugs everyone. She tells Julie to have fun. Peter hugs everyone. Julie cries. Some little kid in the background runs away from his parents.

Jamie's leaving. Julie hugs him. Melissa kisses him and hops up with her legs around his waist. In an interview, Melissa says that she will miss Jamie and she hopes he misses her the same so that "when [they] reunite in that hotel room in Chicago, and [they] start making that sweet love, boy it'll be good." Hey, that clip is on the Real World You Never Saw video! False advertising! I saw it. In a confessional, Jamie says he grew. Jamie leaves.

Melissa tells Julie she's starting all over "brand-new style." Melissa and Julie hug. Julie says that they will party in L.A. Melissa leaves.

Julie skateboards through the airport for about forty-five minutes. Isn't this season over yet? Julie says that her favorite memory with David is when they went to the studio, and we see a black-and-white clip of same. The rave with Danny was her best time in New Orleans. Again, flashback. She thinks the mud pit was interesting. Flashback. Melissa's birthday party -- flashback. Julie says, "My favorite moment with Matt?" and then they show the clip of them kissing in the parking garage, even though she totally didn't say that would be her favorite moment. Well, it wouldn't be the end of the season without one last blatant editing manipulation, now, would it? In a confessional, Julie says that everyone is a chapter or sentence in the book of her life. Julie gets on the plane with her skateboard and waves goodbye.
