The teens are smart enough to realize that gathering together makes them targets, but not smart enough to avoid the meeting completely. Instead they mess with each others' iPods and make drinks disappear. One of them goes out onto a black-and-white street borrowed from Sin City and is killed. Hey, nobody said group therapy was easy.
Meanwhile, Clark is throwing himself into his work, spending long nights at the newspaper trying to solve every crime in town. He neglects Chloe on a Totally Platonic Friend Movie Night. On his citizen-saving rounds, Clark comes across a devastating crime scene. Someone has slaughtered a bunch of people at a party and Clark was too late to stop it. Clark finds Davis the paramedic there, bloodied up and apparently hurt. But it turns out Davis is all right; that was someone else's blood on him. Uh oh. Martian Manhunter also appears at the crime scene; he's now a Metropolis homicide detective named John Jones out to lend Clark a hand. Nice! Clark suspects the murders may have been caused by a meteor-infected person being helped by Chloe. Chloe, who has files on many, many of them, refuses to hand Clark over their names. They have philosophical differences on how the meteor-infected should be treated; Chloe thinks Clark should be the last person to suspect them of crimes. Even though eight seasons of mutants-of-the-week would seem to prove her wrong.
Davis starts to freak out a little and confesses to Chloe that he thinks he might be the killer. He tells her that he has blackouts and that they've been growing in frequency. He wakes up being the first person at these crime scenes. It's not looking good. But Chloe has faith in him and doesn't believe he's the killer. Clark starts to put the pieces together on his own and also begins to believe Davis might be responsible. Davis takes Jimmy out on ambulance rounds (Jimmy is investigating for a story a good Samaritan who is fighting crime around town) and while they're at a scary old lot, Davis is attacked by a weird shadow creature. Clark saves him and they discover that the creature is one of the teens from the As-Is group. They pin the murders on him.
Chloe and Davis acknowledge that there are strong feelings going around, but Chloe decides she doesn't want to see Davis for a while so she won't have anything to feel guilty about. Which may be good for her: when Shadow Teen is recruited by one of Tess's employees, we learn that he wasn't the real killer. It was someone who killed a nun and kept her onyx crucifix. Guess what's hanging in Davis's ambulance? Right from the rear-view mirror. It's DOOOOOOMSDAY!

We open, nighttime, at the building of Lana's former brainchild, the Isis Foundation, now fallen on hard times and under new stewardship. Former journalist (teeth grind) Chloe Sullivan now runs the place. It's the As-Is Foundation these days. Inside, a teen girl wearing a purple blouse, purple eye shadow and black fingernail polish is cradling a mug of coffee. She's telling a support group around her that one year, Santa gave her the wrong doll. Is that what inspired this look? She says she got so mad that she made all the Christmas lights on her block go out. Chloe looks at her sympathetically. She hates unlit Christmas lights. So much wasted potential. The girl says it was the first time her parents figured out she was different. She tries to take a sip of her drink, but gets annoyed. She turns the mug upside down and the liquid inside has turned solid. Light Brite tells a boy across from her, Jesse, to knock it off. Jesse, wearing iPod earbuds, says it wasn't him. Light Brite causes the volume on his music player to increase. Jesse jumps. Aw, teens these days, with their crazy telekinetic powers.
Everyone else in the very large support circle laughs nervously. Light Brite asks why she's even there. She wonders if "Goldilocks" (Chloe) is just putting a bullseye on her head. She thinks it's clever that Chloe put out cryptic ads in alternative newspapers to gather them all in one place. Chloe tells the girl that she must have had a reason for coming. Light Brite says she doesn't mind a few friendly faces, but she's worried that they're targets for people who don't want meteor freaks to exist. A clean-cut kid nearby says that the group is the best thing that's ever happened to him. Virgin! Light Brite calls him "Pocket protector" and tells him to wait until the angry mob comes after them. Clean-Cut thinks there's strength in numbers. He thinks they'll be harder to target if they stick together. Chloe tells the group that coming to the meeting was a big step in making other people appreciate their gifts. She thanks them for coming and asks them to make sure to sign in before they leave. And no signing it, "Super Awesome Freak Lord" again. That's really annoying, Seth. Everyone takes off.
