Episode Report Card Kim: B+ | Grade It Now! YOU GRADE IT Oh Boy!
By Kim | Season 8 | Episode 3 | Aired on 03.17.2009
Woz and Karina are up next, and they're redoing their quickstep. They rehearse some more in the morning while Woz nerdily nitpicks the judges' critique -- that they said he ran out of steam when really he messed up his steps. Seriously? Does it matter? Look, I respect his accomplishments, but his nerdy game-playing annoys me. Now today he was bitching that they don't reveal the actual scores on the show, like it's the Magic: the Gathering tournament at your local gaming store and not a reality show. It's about drama. It's about manufactured drama most of the time, with the dramatic pauses etc. Most of the rest of us mortals realized that somewhere around 2002. Catch up, Woz.
So Woz and Karina do their quickstep and I think it's better than last night, but still just mediocre. Probably enough to get them to stay, though. I think Woz's two biggest problems are that he's flat-footed instead of up on his toes, and he's consistently a little behind the beat. Poor Karina is trying like hell to keep him on track. But he looks like he's having a hell of a time out there... which helps. Judges? Bruno admires Woz's determination, even though he's not a good dancer. Carrie Ann thought he was better tonight, even though he messed up a bit. Len likes how hard he works, and even though he's not the best dancer, he's definitely having the most fun. Backstage, Samantha asks if he was happier with his performance tonight, and Woz says he didn't think about messing up, but just had fun. Scores: Carrie Ann 6, Len 5, and Bruno 6 for a total of 17, which is the same as their score from last night. Bruno holds up his paddle backwards at first and everyone giggles at him.
So now they've combined the new judges' score with the viewer votes and it's time to find out who's going home. And the biggest loser (wrong show) is... Belinda and Jonathan. Woz looks like he doesn't realize what just happened at first, but then figures it out. He doesn't look all that happy, but maybe he's just confused. Belinda says that she had a great time and wishes she could have done better for Jonathan. Jonathan says he'll miss her fun attitude. And then my recording cuts off, but it's probably a blessing since Samantha was about to ask another useless question. See you next week!
