Jake is livid: "Veronica Mars? VERONICA MARS?" That's her name, dude. And with the satin smoking jacket, the rapid aging, and the quickly loosening grip on reality, Jake is fast becoming Neptune's Hugh Hefner. No wonder all these horny guys want to hang out at his house. He basically tells Wiedman to rub Veronica out, but Wiedman evenly opines that that might not be their best option. Jake collapses into a chair, and he's lucky it's still there, because he ate every other bit of scenery in the room. As pointed out on the boards, I don't know what's up Jake's ass in regard to Veronica here -- he always seemed to like her. Maybe they should have made Celeste the leader of the secret male society. I mean, would anyone really have said anything?
Keith is giving a female reporter an interview, which is going well enough until Jake busts in all "MY DAUGHTER!" Oh, sorry, that was a different overblown speech of his. This one is about "YOUR DAUGHTER" Veronica being the thief, and Wiedman, with Harvey in tow, smoothly details all the evidence -- her in and out times with the car match up with the robbery, she's small enough, and there's the security footage. Keith looks at the reporter, who's doing her best not to make her note-taking too obvious. Harvey says he wants his DVR back, but Keith says they'll need a judge's order. Harvey asks Keith if he knows what this looks like. Keith: "Like I don't kowtow to the rich and powerful?" Keith, nice try in front of the reporter, but I didn't buy Logan's spinning before, and it sounded a lot more convincing than this. The three of them leave, and we cut out before Keith's all, "So where were we?"
Veronica screens a call from Keith, and says to Mac that they don't have a lot of time, as there's a class scheduled at 9:00 AM...
...and we cut to Keith leaving a voicemail for Veronica, saying things have "hit the fan," and he's desperate to talk to her. He hangs up and looks defeated for a moment, but then snaps up, opens a drawer, and takes out a screwdriver. No, not the good kind, but that sure gives me an idea.
Keith opens the evidence room. He shuts himself in...and degausses the DVR. No, Keith! He had the unaired pilot on there!
10. "I could never." This one speaks for itself.
The computer cracks the password, and it spits out the names of everyone who's ever been in The Castle. Veronica: "This is a beautiful thing." No, Veronica, shirtless Rob Lowe is a beautiful thing. This is merely pretty cool.
