Weight Room: Matt's on his cell asking Bonnie (who is in the parking lot) if she found Jeremy. No dice, even though she called him 20 times. Matt says he'll grab his keys and they'll go to Gilbert Gables to look for him. Bonnie says she'll meet Matt at his truck. Then Matt looks down at the weight room floor. His clothes and shoes have been strewn around. No, not the ones he's wearing, sadly. His other clothes. Matt searches his bag and realizes it's almost empty. He follows the trail of his belongings back to the pool. His keys are lying at the bottom of it. He strips off his hoodie. He strips off his sneakers. He fails to take off his shirt and that's when the haunting starts. Vicki appears behind him yelling, "Matt, I can help Bonnie but I need you to hear me." Matt is just shaking his head. Vicki kicks one of his sneakers into the pool. Matt jumps up and looks around. When he sees nothing, he notices his cell phone where he left it, next to the pool. When he picks it up he has a text message from "Unknown," which reads: "I can help you Matty." Matt calls out for Vicki, but there's no answer.
Bonnie's still waiting in the parking lot when Matt calls her. She asks what's taking so long. Matt tells her he thinks Vicki is trying to reach out to him. "I think she can help us save Tyler." Bonnie says Jeremy is the one who can help them. Matt reminds her they can't find the Germ. "I have an idea, but I'm going to need your help. Meet me at the pool. [...] Jeremy can see ghosts because you brought him back from the dead. I need you to do that for me." When Bonnie reminds him she's no longer capable of that kind of magic, Matt says, "You don't need magic, Bonnie. You just have to be better than I was at CPR."
Outside, Bonnie starts booking it back towards the school. Inside, Matt straps weights to himself and stands on the edge of the pool, long enough for the extra blue room and dim lighting to make his beautiful blue eyes almost electric. He then jumps in the water, shirt and all! When he sinks to the bottom he drops the weight and opens his mouth. Jackass. Commercial.
Matt looks pretty damned dead by the time Bonnie makes it to the pool. She dives in, undoes the weight belt from his waist, and pulls him up above water.
Ridiculous Road Trip Down Letdown Lane: Back from finding the keys, Damon reminds Jeremy not to fall asleep, as he could have a concussion. Jeremy: "Thanks for the concern, dick." Katherine tells Jeremy he took one for the team. "Everyone back home will thank you once Klaus is dead." Damon wants his phone back. Katherine taunts him about needing to check in with Elena and make sure it's okay he pummeled the Germ. Damon says, "You know you have it." Katherine: "What can I say? I needed you present, here and now." When Damon insists, she hands it over. Damon says Bonnie has been texting about Klaus. Katherine: "No turning back, Damon." When Damon tells her to shut up, Katherine says, "Hey, look at the big picture. The best shot of taking out Klaus is by finding Mikael." Damon hands Jeremy what looks like the keys, but then Katherine takes them, while Damon walks over to the car like he's getting in, so I don't really know what that was. It looked too big to be the necklace. Anyhow, he tells Jeremy, "Stay with [Katherine], so that Anna can guide you." What? Why can't Jeremy go back to the Falls now? They don't care about my questions. Katherine hollers out after Damon, "You're going to get yourself killed. The Damon I remember wouldn't have been that stupid." Damon turns back. "I wouldn't have done it for you." Does that sting, Kiki?
