Clue time. A funny voice says, "What do Hulk Hogan and a week-old London Broil have in common?" Susie sticks out her tongue and makes a face. The answer to the riddle is that they're both tough. The speaking voice is that of Timmy, from the second season. Who may or may not be dating / engaged to / married to Susie. No one knows. And they sure don't tell us. Our only clue is that at the end, Timmy says, "And Road Rules, remember. You're only as strong as your weakest link. Right, Susie?" And Susie acts all indignant. But that's all we get.
In an interview, Julie says that she doesn't feel good that her team only has a $10,000 lead. In an interview, Michelle says that the Real World team is nervous that her team is catching up. Back to Julie, who says that the gap's being closed. Hey, I wonder what the scores are here? Are they really far apart, or close together? I wish they would tell me, and even better, tell me THREE FUCKING TIMES!
Rebecca reads a message from the Nokia that says to "go to Mr. Mouse's Farm for the Unfortunate." That's so the name of my third album. Someone named Billy will be waiting there. After reading the message, Rebecca ponders over the part about Billy expecting them. Okay, they're headed to a place called "Mr. Mouse's Farm for the Unfortunate" and she's pondering the name Billy? In the immortal words of Phil on Ed, "Hello!" In an interview, Dan speculates that since they're headed to a farm (for the unfortunate, I'd like to add), there will probably be lots of "dirt and mud and various specimens of manure." Dan doesn't think that they would go to a farm and "knit or something."
Hey! Shout. Out. The song playing at the opening of the scene is the theme song for D-Generation X, (formerly) a group of WWF wrestlers. I used to recap WWF Smackdown. Anyway, the kids arrive at the farm and are greeted by a guy dressed in short pants and a straw fedora. He kind of looks like Panama Jack, if Panama Jack were British. He introduces himself as "General Whisker." Hee! In an interview, Dan expositions that every year, there's a contest in England called "The Tough Guy Contest." Jamie continues, saying that adventurers and runners come from all over the world to "push themselves to their physical limits." We see a bunch of pasty white men getting really muddy while climbing ropes and slogging around. Jamie says that he has "no qualms" about getting dirty. Heh. I'll leave that one alone. In an interview, James explains, "It's climbing, it's swinging, it's shimmying down ropes." Dan says, "The whole course is gross. It's just like two and a half miles of sludge." It really is, too, from the footage they are showing. However, I imagine that the actual competition took place a few months earlier, during spring, when things are a lot colder and muddier. The course shown in the footage is nowhere near as green and lovely as the course the two teams are standing on now.
