Derek is spending a few cute moments with Zola when Meredith joins them and tells him she's been cramming for the social worker interview she's having later. Derek finds it funny but Mere is dead serious, given that she doesn't have any personal experience with quality parenting. Derek teases her about how she'll have to sew Halloween costumes and then hands over the baby, who starts to fuss. Arizona comes in and tells them that Zola is doing really well, and then explains the simple hernia surgery she will have later. Zola's howling unhappily now and Arizona guesses that she is hungry since she can't eat with her surgery later, so gives her a pacifier to soothe her. Derek and Meredith both look a little shell-shocked at how easily Arizona fixed the situation and how neither of them knew to do that, but Derek tries to assure Meredith that they'll figure all of these types of things out as they go.
Bailey is rolling a young girl, Abena, out of the hospital in a wheelchair while her sister Lebo walks beside them; Abena is one of the kids from Africa who is happy and excited to be going home. Alex runs up with a bag containing her meds and then also pulls a teddy bear out of his pocket for her, which she loves. He reminds her to take all of her sickle cell meds and Bailey reminds Lebo that she needs to take them too. The little girl then gives "Dr. Alex" a huge hug as he continues to fretfully remind them to follow up at the clinic. He's genuinely concerned, and Lebo thanks him and then gives him a hug. When they hug, though, she winces; she tries to write it off as nothing but then is hit by a wave of pain that causes her to scream and collapse.
Teddy and Henry are jogging together along a trail and she's trying a little too hard to point out possible dates for him as they jog by. He plays along but shoots down all of her suggestions and instead asks her about how things are going with Andrew. She finally admits that he invited her to go to Germany with him when he leaves in a week, causing Henry to have to stop and catch his breath from the punch in the gut jog. Teddy is clearly considering it though she tries to convince herself that it's crazy and lists her obligations in Seattle: she's got a contract at work, residents to teach (though that's become kind of a non-issue lately), and Henry. It's not lost on Henry that she lists him as an obligation and she immediately backtracks, but he just "jokes" that he's an anchor that's dragging her down. He's smiling but he pretty clearly believes this is at least partly true. She assures him that it just could mean insurance headaches and that they would figure it all out, and he agrees. She then too-cheerfully tries to continue the, "What about her?" exercise and Henry gamely plays along, but both of them are working hard to avoid the fact that now things seem even weirder between them than before.
