Episode Report Card Kim: B | Grade It Now! YOU GRADE IT Two for the Price of One
By Kim | Season 15 | Episode 15 | Aired on 11.13.2012
Time to review last night's performance with Maks and Kirstie. She was sloppy in her trio dance, and tried to make a joke with Tristan about how he was already voted off but it kind of falls flat. Kelly reminded us that this was going to come down to viewer votes. Might have been helpful for some to have that reminder last night.
Time to find out if these two couples are in jeopardy. Ooh, they're not just doing jeopardy. They're telling us who's going home. And it's Kirstie and Maks. Yay! I mean, boo. Just kidding, I totally mean yay. They lasted about two weeks longer than they deserved, and they know it. Kirstie thanks Maks, the fans, and even the judges. They make Maks and Kirstie take center stage but then don't play any music so they're just standing there, which is weird. So wait, are Kelly and Val safe?
Clip package of how this season has been incredibly stressful on the pros too. Cheryl reveals that they've been practicing double time, which I can't even believe because usually at this point, they're already rehearsing all day, every day. Poor Val has never even been close to the finals so he's got to be freaking out.
The couples are going to be choosing a dance and a theme, and Tom warns us that they're crazy and don't make any sense. Kelly and Val are choosing for Melissa and Tony, and they pick "Caveman" Hustle. Tom explains that they'll be assigned a song that might help these themes make sense. Cheryl and Emmitt choose "Knight Rider" Banghra for Shawn and Derek, and Derek doesn't even know what that is. Tom explains that it's an Indian folk dance. Apolo and Karina choose "Mad Monk" Merengue for Gilles and Peta, who return the favor with "Big Top" Jazz for Apolo and Karina. Shawn and Derek choose "Espionage" Lindy Hop for Emmitt and Cheryl, and Kelly and Val are left with "Surfer" Flamenco. I guess as far as filler goes, these segments are fine, but I bet that the producers were hoping for more screwing over, and this group just isn't doing that.
Anna and Val are dancing with the principal male and female dancers from the New York City ballet. I was just wondering where Anna has been. Wow, that was really, really beautiful. Normally I'm not so into the random dances, but that was stunning from the staging to the lighting to obviously, the dancing.
Time to look back at Apolo and Karina. Nothing that interesting happened except that their partner made a lame boy band joke. Len was rooting for Gilles really hard in his dance. I think Len has a crush on Gilles, giving him two 10s last night. Cheryl reminds Emmitt to enjoy the moment, and he sends it right back to her.
