Cut to Ems and Takeda standing out on the dock together. She demands to know why he has put her plan at risk by exposing Aiden. Takeda thinks Aiden's lack of discipline had already exposed them. Senseis -- always with the discipline. He says Emanda's path must be hers alone, and she mustn't forget what the Initiative did to her. Even now they're planning a second strike. Emanda wants to know what they're planning, but Takeda remains cryptic. They're going to do what they always do: "Create fear, chaos... profit." Ems asks if she and Aiden can help, but Takeda says no. The path is his alone. He leaves Emanda all by herself out on the dock.

Ems returns to Casa Emily, but stops before entering the party when she notices Jack waiting for her out on the porch. He asks for verification that the engagement is real, like he can't hear the party going on inside the house. Emanda confirms it and then is perplexed when Jack asks what's different this time. Last time she was ready to break it off over their one kiss. He asks why they didn't talk about it. In fairness to Ems, when she was ready to talk about it, Amily showed up pregnant and Jack had a whole new life ahead of him. But he lost it. And it's kinda shitty of Jack to come sniffing around now that he doesn't have what he thought he did. Ems notices Victoria watching their conversation and becomes extra cautious, warning Jack off of trusting her. Jack says he's well aware, but he doesn't understand how Emanda can marry into a family that helped destroy Amily. Emanda doesn't have an answer that doesn't involve a full confession, so Jack starts to walk off, stopping just to say, "I'm so tired of the secrets and the half-truths. It's always 'someday' with you. You should go be with your new family." Ems turns to lock eyes with Victoria through the front door curtain. The Queen turns away, satisfied with what she's seen.
Nolan steps out onto the porch from the party to ask Ems what's going on. She updates him on Takeda's betrayal of Aiden and the anticipation of the Initiative's next move. Nolan shares the info he got from Edith that they can't move forward without her. He also divulges the info about Victoria's bastard son being paid off and that access to the ACF account hinges on him solving Edith's riddle. Daniel interrupts to tell Ems that he just found out Charlotte's been arrested and he needs to get down to the station before the press and his parents find out. When he leaves, Nolan comments that sometimes Dan seems like a decent guy, but Emanda immediately clarifies that she's with Aiden. That's who she's fighting for, she says. Those words trigger an epiphany for Nolan. He's solved the riddle and he'll explain later. He leaves.
