Carnival. Lydia the Tattooed Lady corners Hiro and asks what the problem is; does he hate Thanksgiving or something? She tells him he can talk to her, since they're family. Edgar eavesdrops as Hiro says he's not part of this family, but a prisoner. He says Samuel broke his promise, because Hiro fixed the past but Samuel won't give back Charlie. He storms off, and Edgar asks Lydia if the time traveler fixed the past, where's Joseph? Lydia: "Good question." She finds Hiro again and pulls him aside to ask what he did to fix the past for Samuel. He can't tell her, though, since it might make Samuel mad, and Charlie's at stake. Lydia says okay, but then undresses in front of Hiro to apparently get him on her side. I don't know the logic, but she says they can help each other, since she can help him with her ability (which she creepily describes as "I can be inside of your soul. We can be as one"). He's on to her seduction, but when she says she needs contact and closeness for her ability to work, he's all, "Of course," and goes ahead and touches her back. No tattoos, since Hiro's not so much with the ink. Lydia tells Hiro he wants Charlie back desperately. He and everyone watching are like, "Duh." She wonders why Samuel didn't have him save Joseph, but he says to ask Samuel. But Lydia knows he'd never tell her, so she would rather Hiro take her back to the day eight weeks ago when the man from the government came and murdered Joseph. Here's what I find annoying about Lydia's ability (other than "everything"): If she can see inside people's souls by making contact with them, how does she tell Samuel things about other heroes (and HRG) and their paths when he touches her with his ink?
Anyway, they flash back, although it looks mostly involuntary on Hiro's party. They're there right as Mohinder's leaving Joseph's trailer. She wonders if he's the man who killed Joseph, but Hiro says that's Dr. Suresh. They watch Samuel approach Joseph angrily, and she wonders if this is the night Joseph was murdered. Hiro doesn't know, but he thinks they should go before they step on a butterfly. But Lydia's followed the other two out of the scene before Hiro even finishes his sentence.
Petrelli Thanksgiving dinner. Peter tells Angela that now that they're sitting, she can talk. She wants Nathan to say grace, but he won't. He says he's dead, and both she and Peter know it, so why doesn't she just tell them and put them all out of their misery? Not that knowing Nathan's dead will put them out of his misery, but I see his point. Mama Petrelli relents, but prefaces it by saying she doesn't expect them to understand, but she was grieving and reacted emotionally. Then she recounts the end of last season for them, explaining that she did it because of a dream she had in which he died, and Parkman saved him. She cries and tells them she made Parkman do it, and then she asks their forgiveness. Peter: "So, that body that we say? That was Nathan?" Angela says technically, but as far as the world's concerned, Sylar is Nathan, and it's been this way for months. She says he has his memories, he looks like him, they're still a family. Nathan and Peter both glare at her as she raises a toast, "To us." That is one messed-up woman.
