Previously, on Felicity: Knoll and Ruby go on a walking tour of Bleecker Street. Felicity tells Julie that she knows she should have cleared things with her before starting anything with Ben. Julie says Felicity was trying to steal her boyfriend and calls Felicity a lying bitch.
There is an extreme close-up of a pupil expanding and contracting, and as the camera pulls out, we see that the pupil belongs to Felicity, and she is studying it in a mirror in order to sketch her eye. She's in her dorm room, and there's a knock at the door; it's Carl. You may remember him as Scurvy Boy from the second episode, when Meghan yelled at him during their floor meeting. He looks like a baby bird. He comes in and compliments Felicity's drawing. She tells him that she's been "staring at my eye so long, it doesn't even feel like it's part of me anymore. It's just this freaky, wet, pulsating ball stuck in my head." If her eye is pulsating, I think she better go straight to the infirmary. Carl says, "I know the feeling." Meghan was right -- he is weird. He comes in and tells Felicity that he heard his roommate's phone conversation when it was accidentally recorded on their answering machine. It turns out that his roommate said that Carl doesn't wash often, or use detergent when he does laundry, and he eats his hair. Felicity struggles to keep it straight and says, "Things that aren't true?" and Carl says that they are, in fact, true. This is a nice piece of continuity, since you may remember that Meghan yelled out at the floor meeting, "He eats his hair!" Well, at least I remember it. Meghan walks into the room and says "Hey, there!" to Felicity with way too much enthusiasm, and just when I think she got a brain transplant, she looks at Carl and says, "You're weird." Carl uses this as proof that he's getting a reputation, which pisses him off and he doesn't know how to channel his anger. Felicity tells him to relax, and says he shouldn't care what people say. Meghan says, "It's so classic that you just said those words." Felicity asks why and Meghan says, "Nothing." Carl keeps trying to get advice out of Felicity, who pretends to listen to him, but keeps interrupting him to question Meghan some more. Finally, she learns that Julie performed a song about her at Epstein Bar. Felicity asks how the song went, and Meghan says, "I don't remember the whole thing...oh, yes I do," and she is clearly enjoying this A LOT. Meghan says the song told how Felicity and Julie were friends, Felicity found out that Julie liked Ben, Julie sacrificed her happiness for Felicity, and Felicity is the worst person in the world. At first I didn't get the "sacrificed her happiness" part, but then I remembered that Julie held off on getting serious with Ben until she was sure Felicity was okay with it. At least I think that's what it means. Felicity yells, "The worst person in the world?" which is a bit of an exaggeration. Meghan continues recounting the song, saying that there was "something about your hair -- 'An Astor Place trim and she thinks she's Joan of Arc', something, something 'slut of Washington Square Park.'" Felicity gets all indignant and stomps over to the door, puts on her coat and leaves poor Carl sitting there. He says that maybe he should beat up his roommate. Meghan, without looking up, says, "Go ahead, kick his ass." Carl says that he thinks she's a better RA than Felicity, and Meghan says, "So do I...get out." Hee! Meghan rocks my world.
