Episode Report Card Sara M: B | Grade It Now! YOU GRADE IT Judas
By Sara M | Season 22 | Episode 2 | Aired on 02.23.2011
Rob gathers his alliance of six and says they'll work together to vote out the outsiders and then they can strategize against each other. So I'm sure that's exactly how it'll go down. He says Phillip will be the next to go and then interviews that he was pleased to see that his alliance "followed directions" and split their votes correctly at Tribal, unlike some people he's played with in the past.
After the credits, we're still at Camp Onomatopoeia. I have to say, I do enjoy Phillip. Mostly. I mean, there's a part of me that thinks Phillip might be batshit crazy and therefore it's wrong of this show and the viewers at home to use that for our entertainment, but the rest of me loves everything that comes out of his mouth and the fact that the more camera time Crazy Phillip hogs, the less Rob and especially Li'l Russell get. Anyway, Phillip has decided to use his Federal Agent training to provide food for his tribe. He has fashioned a spear out of a stick and is hot on the trail of the tiniest crab. Also, he isn't wearing pants. Or a shirt. Just a pair of pink briefs. Of course. Phillip, whose "Former Federal Agent?" title never ceases to crack me up, says he reverted to his primal state or something.
Meanwhile, the rest of his tribe has reverted to their childhood bully state, and are watching Phillip and laughing at him. Although I guess I can't judge them too harshly because I'm doing the same exact thing, and what else could you do when you're stuck in a tribe with that guy? Besides demand to be taken off the show before he primally murders you in your sleep. While Matt shows off his Steve Irwin impression and narrates Phillip's crab hunt to the giggles of everyone else, including outcast Kristina, Phillip interviews that Francesca maligned his character at Tribal Council last night and that deeply hurt him. He starts to "cry" (I'm not seeing any tears, so I don't know) and says he loves his country and "having worn the uniform that I swore that I was prepared to do to protect and defend" because I guess Federal Agents wear uniforms now? Phillip says Francesca tried to take some of his hard (though vaguely) earned pride away last night, and that made him very emotional. With that, he manages to kill a tiny crab with a well-placed spear throw. Actually, I don't think he did kill it, since he holds it up for the camera while making sort-of Marine noises (like "hoo-rah," except not because Phillip's military service cannot be known. Because it never happened) and it looks very much alive. Phillip concludes in his interview that he loves himself, he's a good person, and that's okay. I totally agree.
