Cemetery. Kol beats the stuffing out of Elena as he tells her it's lonely on the other side, and how frustrating it was that she couldn't see his pre-veil-drop ghost threatening her. When he lifts Elena up by her slender neck, she asks him to kill her and says he'd be doing her a big favor. Kol says, "As you wish, darling," but before he can do the deed, he's struck by a stake.
Jeremy FINALLY appears and asks, "How many times do I need to kill you?" Kol pulls out the stake and approaches the Germ and his crossbow. "Jeremy Gilbert. Welcome back. Now, what's the saying? Kill me once, shame on you. Kill me twice, shame on..." Before he can finish, Stefan snaps Kol's neck. I'm not sure that should even work on a run of the mill Original, never mind a now dead Original, who is currently a ghost in corporeal form, but whatever. Kol's schtick was getting old. Stefan snarks something about leaving it at that and Jeremy rushes to his sister's side. Slowly, Elena reaches out and touches his hand. The two hug, and Elena, naturally, cries us into commercial.
Outside the cemetery gates, Bonnie tells the Salvatores they need to get rid of Silas's body. After Damon points out the corpse will need to be somewhere where it can't access even a drop of blood, Stefan suggests last year's plan to rid themselves of Klaus -- drop him in the middle of the deep blue sea. I'm pretty sure the oceans aren't blood free, because...you know...sharks. Before this iteration of the brain trust can consider my point, Elena arrives and calls out Bonnie's name. "I don't know what to say. [...] I was so horrible to you." Bonnie says, "You weren't you. I know what that's like. I wasn't me for a long time. We can talk about that, later. You've got some catching up to do." Jeremy appears. "Thank you, Bonnie." Bonnie looks from Jeremy to Elena and says she'll give them as much time as she can. Jeremy hugs her. When they part, Bonnie says she will have to go put the veil back up.
Stefan says they should store Kol's body somewhere too, until the veil is raised. He's about to leave when Elena stops him. They share a meaningful look, then Stefan nods, welcomes her back, and heads off. When Elena says there isn't enough time, Damon tells her there never could be. Elena says, "Damon, I'm sorry." He stops her and tells her right now, the important thing is to be with Jeremy and say a proper goodbye. Elena turns back to little brother and hugs him again. Cue dramatic music and my tears. We cut to...
