Felicity knocks at Ruby's dorm room door to deliver a floor calendar. Not content to do just that, Felicity asks, "So, how are you doing? How are, uh, how are things with you and Knoll?" Ruby states that Knoll "sort of bailed out on [me]." Felicity is puzzled and Ruby elaborates, "I don't think he wants anything to do with the baby. I know, it seems crazy what I'm doing. I'm sure that's what everybody thinks. I guess. I just really thought Knoll would be different." Felicity looks sympathetic.

Knoll is sitting in a hospital waiting room beside a pregnant woman. Ruby comes in and Knoll gets up to greet her. She wonders what he is doing there. Knoll confesses his Kelly Tayloresque past behaviour by telling her, "The, uh, the other day. The things I said, I was just -- I was going out of my mind for a second. It's been, without a doubt, the most stressful week of my life. Not that that's an excuse for any of the things that I said, all of which I regret. Look, the point is, I'm not going anywhere. Okay, I'm gonna be here for you and...we'll go through this whole thing together." Ruby smiles and laughs a bit then they kiss and hug.

The scene opens with a shot of a photo of the gang. Ben is looking at it in Felicity's room while he waits for her to get ready for the party. Felicity says, "Pavone alluded to some story he got, but she wouldn't tell me what it is." Ben replies,"I don't care what it is. It doesn't excuse him from being such an ass." Um, watch who you're calling an ass, Mr. Posterior. Felicity quickly says, "Hey, believe me, I'm not making excuses for the guy." Then she grabs the photo and tells him not to look at it because she looks "so ridiculous." Ben tells her that she looks pretty. Meghan enters and asks Ben, "You begging her to drive across country again?" That's pretty funny, Meghan. Ben tries to be a smartmouth but all he comes up with is, "Yeah. I thought I'd do that about once a year." Felicity tells her that they're "gonna be at Elena's for a painting party." Ben invites Meghan to come because there'll be "a lot of paint to sniff." That's not bad, Ben. Meghan gives a mock "whatever" laugh. Ben and Felicity leave.

Back at the hospital, Ruby's ultrasound is in progress. I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on MBTV, but isn't it a bit early for an ultrasound, and is it entirely necessary? Anyway, the doctor says, "there it is," and we are treated to a look at the monitor which shows a typical, blurry ultrasound. Ruby says, "That's the baby?" The doctor responds, "That little spot right there. You want to come look?" Knoll says, "Wow." Ruby asks how big it is. The doctor tells them, "About two centimetres. About the size of a pinto bean. You're eight weeks pregnant. Everything seems to be developing normally. Fetal weight. Heart function. All looks great." Ruby smiles and looks at Knoll. A confused and befuddled Knoll questions, "Eight weeks? That's two months. That's impossible. You were in L.A. two months ago." The doctor confirms that Ruby is eight weeks pregnant. The smile fades from Knoll's face as he asks Ruby, "That can't be right, can it?" Ruby looks at him, then looks away and doesn't say anything. The colour completely drains from Knoll's face. A resounding "D'OH!!!!!!!!" rings through Ruby's mind. I have to compliment Scott Foley for his acting in this scene.
